The title, yup it is meant to grab your attention, but it also has a degree of truth to it. Deep down you know there are days that you look at your kids and believe they are the best possible people on the planet. You know those moments where you are so overwhelmed with pride that you could cry. Well, you are entitled to those and it is okay to think your kids are better than anyone else’s, even if you are the only person in the world who thinks so.

In today’s social media, comment on everything, post the best family image possible, it is hard to feel competent, successful, and happy with your parenting choices. Want to watch a social media frenzy, comment on someone’s parenting style, or suggest and idea that is outside of the OG’s post. Even worse is the sanctimonious, preachy, commentary from people who think they have all the answers and missed the memo that telling people “my kids are better that yours” is just obnoxious.

Are you tired of tips and advice that just don’t work in the real world of busy, tired parents? Would you like to listen to some parenting or organizing options that actually work for real families? Cut to the chase for what is really important to children’s health, well-being and ultimately success in life. Can you appreciate that parenting is a journey we all need help surviving and finding the humor along the way is the best approach?

How do I know this will work? Because my children are better than yours, lol. Seriously, I know this will work because I am now looking back from the other side, my three children are now in their 20’s and hindsight is always fantastic. My 20 year plan of parenting has come to an end however I am blessed to work with children and families every day. Writing on the slate of a child, is the single most important thing any parent or adult for that matter will ever do. There are certainly things I wish I could erase, permanently, and others that have faded over time. For the most part however, I do believe that with hard work, dedication, sacrifice and love I was able to do the best I possibly could.

I am not a parenting expert and I hate when people refer to me that way. The only parenting experts live in their homes, with their children – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. My singular advantage in giving parenting advice is volume. In my 30 year career I estimate that I have worked with thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of children and families. I use this experience to narrow down common problems and situations and offer solutions with multiple options.
