Perry Knoppert: Why Misfits & Nonlinear Thinkers Are The Changemakers

Perry Knoppert: Why Misfits & Nonlinear Thinkers Are The Changemakers

It took becoming homeless for Perry Knoppert to finally find himself in 2021.

The result is The Octopus Movement, a global movement composed of thousands of other weirdos like him from 60 countries! And I'm proud to be one of them :)

After a lifetime of feeling weird, like a misfit and loser, and hopping from job to job, when he did find himself he also founded this global network to help spread the word of the gifts of nonlinear thinkers like him. He was even featured in Forbes recently! (link in the first comment)

Perry finally realized that being a nonlinear thinker is a superpower. While we're diagnosed as many different things - ADHD, autististic, dyslexic, etc. - those labels don't convey the powers that neurodiversity brings to the world. They just make it seem like there's something wrong with us that needs to be cured.

Imagine if Einstein had been "cured"...

Why an octopus? Perry selected it after asking himself, “What is the symbol of a curious misfit?” I think it's perfect because the octopus is so intelligent, adaptable, and just plain weird.

It's hard for us to even comprehend their abilities. And it's hard for so-called "normal" people understand us weirdos and our abilities.

Whether you're a nonlinear thinker yourself or want to learn more about how your company can benefit from partnering with The Octopus Movement, join me & Perry for a conversation that's guaranteed to be anything but boring!

Overcome Your Fear of Failure: Richard Fenton

Overcome Your Fear of Failure: Richard Fenton

Richard Fenton was convinced he was a failure who could never sell.

He transformed himself into to a hugely successful salesman with honors including recipient of the Trumpeter award, clothing giant Hart Shaffner & Marx’s highest front-line sales recognition.

Now, for two decades he’s been training millions all over the world on how to overcome their own fear of failure.

He’s also co-author of the classic sales book “Go for No!”, which has been named one of the best sales books ever, and the follow-up book “When They Say No.”

Millions have taken Richard’s advice and truly transformed their career and life. Now it’s your turn!

While he and his partner are the go-to experts for those who are struggling to believe in themselves, this is not fluffy feel-good stuff. It’s taking action to transform your life through a simple concept:

“No” is the road to “Yes.”

It’s so obvious, but most of us are so terrified of the word “no” that we never give ourselves the opportunity to get to “yes.”

In addition to writing the books mentioned above, Richard and his partner also:

  • are one of the very few “speaking teams” who speak together on stage for audiences of 50 up to 10,000;
  • launched a publishing company called Success in 100 Pages;
  • produced a 98-minute Documentary DVD Movie, “Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There”;
  • and write fiction in their spare time, including a 10-book paranormal suspense series.

Are you ready to stop making excuses and make real change? If so, join me & Richard to start your own journey of transformation!

Seize Opportunity in an Ignored Market Segment: Glenn Gonzales

Seize Opportunity in an Ignored Market Segment: Glenn Gonzales

What do you do when you're selling a product and keep running up against the same objection? If you're Glenn Gonzales, you create a new business model & disrupt an industry.

As regional sales manager for Honda Aircraft Company, Glenn quickly discovered that people loved the aircraft but didn’t need a whole airplane. The hourly-sales business model of existing plane-share businesses didn’t meet the needs of this ignored segment of the market.

Glenn and his partner, Vishal Hiremath, recognized opportunity and developed a new fractional ownership business model and company, Jet It. Now they're disrupting the private jet industry and the company has even been presented as a Harvard Business School case study.

Jet It's business model lets owners buy days instead of hours. It combines affordable aircraft ownership, white-glove concierge service, and a private flight department at your beck and call without the hassle and cost of traditional jet ownership.

Join me & Air Force veteran Glenn to learn more about recognizing opportunities and creating a new way to solve the problem that's behind that opportunity.

Your Past Doesn’t Dictate Your Future: Bart Butler

Your Past Doesn’t Dictate Your Future: Bart Butler

Bart grew up in the violent streets of NE Washington DC in the 70’s & 80’s and lost 3 brothers to violence, yet built a successful “mini real estate empire” – only to lose everything in the 2008 real estate collapse.

When many would have quit, Bart persevered, working 7 long years to remake himself. Now he & his wife own 6 businesses, including My Real Estate Mart, a web-based company that connects people seeking real estate services with those who provide them, and Baltimore Urban Renewal, which purchases distressed properties and rehabilitates them to uplift neighborhoods.

Bart says, “it just seemed like running a business was easy compared to the stuff I dealt with growing up, so the worst thing that could happen was, ‘You know, it didn’t make it.’ ”

His book Redemption: Grace Extended and The Real Price of Success, shares his story with the world and helps fund a scholarship he’s endowed to benefit qualified students from the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore corridor

A fellow Hokie, he's also on my alma mater Virginia Tech’s Apex Center for Entrepreneurship advisory board.

Join us to learn more about Bart’s amazing story and get inspired to overcome any obstacle in your way!

The Power of Perseverance: Dr. Greg Reid

The Power of Perseverance: Dr. Greg Reid

Before Greg was an award-winning author, film producer, named a Top 5 Speaker by Entrepreneur, or featured in Forbes and other top magazines, he was just a SoCal beach kid with dyslexia. Before being picked up by a publisher, his first book was turned down by over 268 publishers, agents, and printers in a row. But the 269th one said YES. Imagine if he had stopped “Three Feet From Gold,” as in the title of one of his books. Before all of his current success, Greg was just like you. Someone with big dreams but not sure how to make them come true. The difference is that he didn’t give up and he learned to create immense success “by working my gifts rather than focusing on my setbacks.”
