Are you incredibly consumed with the horrid thoughts of something awful happening to you or your loved ones? Do you have genuine fear and the impending doom that you know something horrid is near lurking down the hall in your everyday life? Do you have a fear of sleeping at night for fear that you won't wake up? How about passing out? Vasovagal Syncope? Here's what you need to know about panic attacks and anxiety disorders. You are not alone. You do not have to be perfect! Most people don't have it "all together!" Many times the common denominator in terms of traits and characteristics that we see in people with panic attacks and severe anxiety are the people who NEED to get IT ALL DONE! These are the people who have so many plates spinning in the air at once, they bite off more than they can chew, they reach for the stars in ways others would never even comprehend. That reach can be excessive and trigger emotions that feel completely out of control. When the tasks on the list can not be checked off, the plans cannot be defined and the out of your control is truly happening, there is a heightened level of uncertainty, or alarming triggers to past trauma; the outcome can result into utter panic and long lasting anxiety which can lead to depression. This episode will address all of this and more plus we will learn about some coping strategies and ways to help you through the recovery process to regain control of your emotions help you to take control of your life following the out of control highway of anxiety ad panic. You might feel like you are alone but you are not. You might feel like you are weak, but that is untrue. You need to tell yourself good things and stop the vicious cycle. Utilize resources that can help. It may feel like a hopeless place, but you deserve to take these steps to be the best you that you can for you and your family. Most importantly you are here to live. You should not feel like a prisoner in your in life, but if you do feel like that, then just know that there is hope. You just have to take the steps without shame! I hope this episode helps you on your journey to healing or if you have a loved one that you just can't seem to connect with their lonely, panicked, out of touch feeling, hopefully the information that you take away in this episode will help you and your family along the way. Turning the Page - Overcoming Addiction

Turning the Page - Overcoming Addiction

“Others may, you may not…” a direct and perfect quote from the father of today’s guest. Addiction and alcoholism are at all time highs across the country and we know that Covid definitely contributed to that. I’ve learned personally many years ago through Al-Anon classes as the previous spouse of an addict that often the high or excitement about getting high is about the process, the planning behind it, the master plan that pre-occupies the mind of the alcoholic or addict. There is such thing as a rock bottom for most, but many times that rock bottom is simply too late. Enabling is a real thing, such as tough love is too. Some people cheat on their spouses with others, some people cheat with addiction in various forms. The family suffers immensely and addiction destroys lives and kills people every day. The biggest thing to know is that the you cannot fix an addict and once an addict always an addict. The recovery is a lifetime process that only that person themselves can work at. No one can put in the work in for them and they alone are the only ones that can put one foot in front of the other to better themselves. Our guest on today’s show is Hillary Dallas who is a sober alcoholic and addict who has overcome the life adversity of addiction, turned her whole world around and has become a counselor doing God’s great work to help people overcome the power of addiction one step at a time. She is the mom of a beautiful little girl who is 3.5 years old, a step-mom of a 12 year old daughter, married with a baby on the way. Please see below a few resources if you or someone you know is in need of support to win the battle of addiction. Mama Bear - Raising a child with Autism

Mama Bear - Raising a child with Autism

From Mama Bear to Mama bear across the world there is a natural instinct that most of us are fortunate enough to inherit. Each and every child is their own unique version of a person in this world and the differences from person to person vary deep and wide. Some differences are genetically engrained, some are learned behavior, and some are created through life experiences. Through the process of children growing from their infant years through their adolescent years into adulthood as parents we should be there to guide them. In many instances, those children have deficits that result in academic and social disconnect. The autism spectrum is a very long arch with very complicated ranges. Learning disabilities, anxiety, neurological and social disconnects may be clues to ASD although not all children who have these issues will receive an ASD diagnosis. From Mama Bear to Mama Bear, if your child is in need of extra support, having issues with emotional regulation, far behind their peers or not hitting their milestones, don’t bury your head in the sand. It’s your job to get them the support they need. Start here! Guest Speaker, Cynthia Vasquez comes from a medical research background and raised a child on the autism spectrum who is now an adult and a father. If you have a story you’d like to share on my podcast about overcoming one of life’s great adversities or you would like to book me as a speaker for a company or corporate event, please email me a info@teamtalentbuilders.com Following are some great resources: Guest Speaker Cynthia Vasquez, comes from a medical research background and raised a child on the autism spectrum who is now an adult and a father in college. https://www.speciallearninghouse.com/free-autism-resources/ https://carmenbpingree.com/blog/9-best-autism-apps-for-skill-development-and-confidence/ https://www.actionbehavior.com/about-autism/?utm_keyword=resources%20for%20autism_kwd-298362980136&utm_term=resources%20for%20autism&utm_campaign=search-google-LG-discover-north_scottsdale-location_15417002079&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=566050100155&hsa_acc=4173069597&hsa_cam=15417002079&hsa_grp=130312113597&hsa_ad=566050100155&hsa_src=g&hsa_tgt=kwd-298362980136&hsa_kw=resources%20for%20autism&hsa_mt=p&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gclid=CjwKCAiA2fmdBhBpEiwA4CcHzWXWWl7hbZD_S_T16gTYkAm3xe76V9CZkkd8nT7eb_2CZGRcJSxzVBoCNFAQAvD_BwE https://www.facebook.com/groups/355958121145905/?ref=share&mibextid=S66gvF

Hearts that stop - don't stop time - coping with death

Hearts that stop - don't stop time - coping with death

This is an episode that will pull at your heart strings. We will all deal with loss and most of us already have. How do YOU cope with, then move forward following the loss of someone you love? In this episode we will discover my passion for the footprints and title of this podcast called One Foot in Front of the Other, To Life! Since this is an episode dedicated to the memory of my father, we will hear from a special guest, my sister, Yvonne Vera who dealt with her own sudden and tragic loss a short time after suddenly losing our father at young ages. We will talk about the life that becomes you when you work hard and keep moving forward; career moves, college struggles as a working and single mom, family values, life lessons, coping strategies and the mental health awareness or lack there of. If you are struggling with the loss of someone you love, we have provided some resources for you here. Please note: I am not a mental health professional. I'm simply here to share stories of true moments in time that cause life struggles and ways to keep moving forward. Always seek help if you are in need of support. There is no shame and you are not alone as you might feel. Remember that one foot in front of the other will lead you to where you want to be, even through the hard days. There are brighter days around the corner. Celebrate the small victories and don’t let heartache keep you down forever.
