#106 - The Muzhik Who Fed Two Officials
A sleepy 19th century Russian satire written as a fairy tale in which two helpless government officials are saved by a hard-working muzhik. Bodhi and I ran across a patch of canyon larkspur on a hike this week, and when I went to find out more about it, it led me down an amazing internet rabbit hole filled with information about the Yuki Native Americans, this land's original inhabitants. You can see pictures of the canyon larkspur flowers and find links to studies of Yuki uses for our native plants and vivid stories of their culture on my blog at https://www.listentosleep.com/blog/canyon-larkspur/. If the podcast helps you sleep and you’d like to support my dream of being your bedtime storyteller for my retirement one day, please leave a review or consider becoming a patron at https://www.listentosleep.com. You can read this story (and other classics from the public domain) by downloading it for free at https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/13437.

#52 - Guest Artist - Andy The Doorbum - Prometheus And Pandora - Bonus Episode
Over the past few months, I reached out to some artists whose work I love and respect to ask them if they would be interested in reading to you. This bonus episode is read by Andy Fenstermaker, who makes music and poetry as Andy The Doorbum. He is full of heart and not afraid to dive into the darkness to shine a light or simply sit and wait for the sun to return.  During the past few months of quarantine here in California, he put together a haunting and beautiful album of covers as a tribute to the music of some of his good friends. It's called Even When The Cat Comes and it's available for free at http://andythedoorbum.com. I love it, and I hope you do too. Andy reads Prometheus and Pandora. It's a classic tale with some very dark and real moments. Like some of the other stories I read here, it may not be suitable for small children, but if you like a bit of darkness as you nod off, you're going to love this. Andy also composed and played the music in this episode.  If you’d like to read it yourself, you can download the story for free at https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/22693.

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman was requested by a listener. I had never read it before, but it's great. Bucolic and a bit creepy. Just like I like it! It was long, so I've split it up over episodes 7 and 8. I hope you like it.  For a searchable, tagged index of all the episodes or to make a request, go to https://www.listentosleep.com.  If you'd like to support the podcast, please leave a review where you listen or become a patron at https://patreon.com/listentosleep.  You can read this story (and other public domain classics) for free at https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1952.

#4 - The Emperor's New Clothes
