BONUS: Baseball Fan Trauma
While recording our "Major League" episode we revisited our earliest baseball memories and the crushing feeling of a playoff loss. Jess also cackles just a little bit at Amanda's Red Sox trauma (because it's funny).

Major League
Was Major League a series of "pitch perfect" sports montages, or about how acceptable it was to stalk your ex-girlfriend in the 1980s? We go juuuuust a bit outside the acceptable amount of baseball puns as we revisit this classic underdog team.

The Lost Boys
In this mid-stakes vampire movie a hot guy and a couple of Coreys run amok while we all secretly root for Kiefer Sutherland. Amanda also tries really hard to convince Jess why THE LOST BOYS is appealing to the ladies. This is our second 'After Dark' selection where we take a look at the movies we absolutely should not have been watching as kids.

An American Tail
Is this still the classic American immigration story or a cartoon in need of a better soundtrack? Unlike Fievel, we hit the high notes of this movie as well as the low.

Teen Wolf
Our adult mindsets are tested as we weigh our nostalgia for low-stakes werewolving against the eye-roll inducing 80s high school tropes. Amanda also dusts off her referee whistle to call some fouls against the sport of basketball while Jess imagines what the characters would be doing these days.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
We put the most beloved movie archaeologist on a performance improvement plan. Did Indiana get more charming (maybe)? Or did Sean Connery do all our pearl clutching for us (also, maybe)?

Groundhog Day
We revisit the OG of time loops and debate whether Bill Murray reaches peak Bill Murray humor. And if you genuinely like rhinestones, French poetry and ugly 90s vests this episode may offend you.

Die Hard
We Yippee-Ki-Yay through this classic manly man story and wonder if it's also a secret romantic comedy. We also ask whether our favorite type-cast villain actor is as cool as we remember.

Clue
We discuss our favorite endings (Miss Peacock!) and whether some Tim Curry chaos is enough to put this movie into Live Up territory. Stay listening at the end for a bonus chat about childhood games we shouldn't be playing anymore because old.

Babes in Toyland (1986)
The annual tradition of Amanda making Jess watch unhinged Christmas movies she's never seen continues with this low rent Wizard of Oz. We are both amused and puzzled by how life-sized teddy bears and a complicated cookie economy somehow make their way into a Christmas movie.

Home Alone
Will our adult selves still delight in the shenanigans of Kevin McCallister? And just how much do our backs hurt by proxy at the injury count Harry and Marv rack up in this Christmas classic?

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Naughty foxes forget they're British in the quintessential Robin Hood movie of our childhoods. We debate whether Alan Rickman's mastery of villainy and Christian Slater's 90s style teen angst can overcome everyone else's American accent.

Silence of the Lambs
The movie that made serial killers intriguing for tweens in the 90s. Only now as adults are we picking up on the sneaky plot of a woman making her way in a man's world. The lady themes are subtle and go over a smooth as lotion from a basket.
This is our first 'After Dark' selection where we take a look at the movies we absolutely should not have been watching as kids.

Ghostbusters
Do we really remember the original Ghostbusters from 1984 or have we let pop culture airbrush its cringier edges? Either way, we take you back to a time when a music professor could afford a corner penthouse apartment on Central Park West. Pay no mind to the demon living in the fridge...

Pee-wee's Big Adventure
We debate whether Pee-wee is still funny or is he now a punchable man-child giving us low-level creep vibes. And just how large is Marge inside our childhood nightmares? (hint: very)

Adventures in Babysitting
This is the joyride through Chicago we wanted Ferris Bueller to be. As we rummage through this 1980s time capsule, we wonder whether urban hellscapes still resonate and why no one dared "fool" with the babysitter.

Robin Hood
We go back to the OG of class warfare stories with Disney's 1973 classic interpretation. Is Robin Hood still a dashing fox who befriends rabbits, or does this movie amount to nothing more than an introduction to the concept of taxes? And don't miss Amanda's most epic fun fact as her closing thought, which certainly makes you look at our hero fox a wee bit differently.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Two hosts enter, one host leaves. Our senses are obliterated as we revisit the dustiest leather-filled hellscape yet. We discuss whether the iconic Thunderdome and Tina Turner's epic role as auntie are thrilling enough to overlook all the nonsense.

Bonus: Peter Pan (1953)
Inspired by our viewing of Hook we went further back in time to Disney's Peter Pan from 1953 and discovered a whole lot you don't want your kids repeating on the playground. Also, we still love the Hook - Smee dynamic which may be the best part of this movie.

Hook
Who knew a middle-aged man's redemption story disguised as a fairytale could be so divisive. Amanda and Jess struggle to find a middle ground save for wanting to grab a beer with Smee in Neverland. We also hear from a millennial listener making the case for Hook's appeal to all generations.
The Muppet Movie (1979)
We find out that an epic road trip with muppets must include 99 cent wine from Idaho and cameos from everyone working in 1970s Hollywood. Get out your movie scripts and follow the mayhem.

Bonus: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
In this bonus episode we try to find bits of charm in our least favorite Indiana Jones movie to date and Amanda must choose which fictional movie son of Harrison Ford is the worst. Also, we still love Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood and pray for her return in the next movie.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Is Indiana Jones still an iconic hero (yes), or the worst archaeologist ever (also, yes). In this episode, we debate our tolerance for all the murder and black market antiquity trade in the first installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Edward Scissorhands
We dive deep into Tim Burton's suburban hellscape in 'Edward Scissorhands' (1990) and ask whether Edward agreeing to live with an Avon Lady is still delightful, epic chaos, or both. Get out your ambrosia salad tongs everyone!

The Dark Crystal
Does 'The Dark Crystal' (1982) still hold a hypnotic yet terrifying power over us 30+ years later or is it just a watered down 'Lord of the Rings'? We tackle this question and share why we think this muppet-less movie about genocide by Jim Henson can still hold a kid's attention. Trigger warning if the mere mention of garthim gives you nightmares.

Coming To America
In this episode we discuss 'Coming To America' (1988) and realize we were all happily watching a rated R movie as 10-year olds and are better for it. Find out whether our collective early 90s Eddie Murphy phase has enough staying power to make 'Coming To America' live UP. Stay tuned at the end for a special guest appearance by co-host Jess Latterman's brother, who retroactively clutches his pearls over the R rating.

Bonus: Worse than the Addams family at a kid recital
Who can behave worse than the Addams family at a kid recital? In this bonus episode host Amanda Treat shares when she had a clown funeral crack up moment at her sister's band concert. It happens to the best behaved of us even without Wednesday and Pugsley shenanigans to make it weird.

The Addams Family
In this episode we discuss 'The Addams Family' (1991) and ask whether host Amanda Treat is a real life Wednesday Adams, and whether the movie experience boils down to basking in the essence of Anjelica Huston as Morticia. A Bulletproof Theory on Why Santa is Real
The most bulletproof theory of all-time on why Santa had to be real came from the mind of host Amanda Treat when she was six years old. Perhaps the reason why she loved 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' movie so much.

Troop Beverly Hills
We revisit the cult classic 'Troop Beverly Hills' and question whether it's still fun to make fun of rich people (it is) and why all the dunking on Kmart. Hosts Jess and Amanda have a raging debate over the razor's edge line of is this dumb vs. charming.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
We are revisiting the movies from our youth to see if they live UP! In this episode we discuss 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' (1964), which attempts to make a whole movie out of the famous Christmas song. Or as host Amanda Treat puts it, the movie asks the question you never knew you wanted the answer to, "what if Santa was a d*ck". We discuss just how far nostalgia can go for a movie to live up and what an interest in dentistry can be a euphemism for. Listen in and see if you agree with our very professional re-review *.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Does 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' live up or is it just a crap real estate deal? Released in 1988, the movie is set in a fictional 1947 Hollywood where cartoon characters - toons - intermingle with humans. Roger Rabbit is a toon who is framed for murder and a somewhat drunk-all-the-time-detective Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) gets roped into helping Roger clear his name. It won three academy awards and was generally well received by critics for its groundbreaking special effects and storytelling. BUT we are now watching it again as adults 30+ years later to see if it lives up.
