Live Lead Succeed

Life has a way of coming at us fast and hard sometimes.  It may seem like there is nothing left to do but ride it out, but that’s just not so.  We can intentionally do small things to find peace even in the midst of our storms.  The key word here is intentional.  You have to create the space and time for peace or it will never come.  Allow yourself to follow these 7 tips the next time you find yourself in a chaotic season.

I've been away much longer than I planned but God had other plans.  I'm so excited to be back!! We have so much work to do!  I'm kicking off today with the Top 3 Questions that every entrepreneur should ask after going through difficult times.

1. Did you allow yourself to feel what you were feeling?

2. Did you allow yourself to stay there too long?

3. Did you find the lesson?

God's calling me into a place that my flesh isn't wanting to go.  I have to step back and realign my will to His will so that I can continue to serve and reach those who He has for me to reach.    

We all fall short at times in not doing what we have been called to do.  I recognize it and now have to do what it takes to get my mind, heart and will back in alignment.  I will be taking a few weeks off from everything Live Lead Succeed, but I will be back soon and prayerfully with a new outlook and a testimony!  

Today I am talking about a new perspective on Moses and his leading and keeping the Hebrews in the wilderness for 40 years.  We can't lead and be completely free with a "slave" mentality.  God needs us to overcome limited mindsets and break free of the inauthenticity so that we can truly walk into all that he has for us.  He needs us to be leaders who unite and lead with love!

Danielle Detiege is the Owner of NOLA Party Boutique a luxury balloon brand. She began as a hobbyist and decided to develop her business from a hobby to a side-hustle to a full-time business generating six figures. She was able to quit her full-time job and continue to grow her business.

While balloons are one of Danielle’s loves, her true passion is business. She enjoys helping women with small businesses develop their passions into sustainable businesses. Danielle has built her second business, WorkFlow around doing just that. She helps women business owners develop their mindset and processes so that they can reduce their overwhelm and pursue their passion.

She shares with her clients her tips and systems to balance being an entrepreneur, wife, and mother and still have time for self and to enjoy life.

Her desire is to help as many women as possible to Play Big in their industries. And of course, she has a special place in her heart for balloon artists and the events industry.

There is an enemy of being perfect that affects many people in their everyday lives.  This idea of being perfect hinders us way more than it helps us.

The task of having to be perfect only takes away from us being human and showing up authentically.  Perfection does not exist and we will never experience all that God has for us while trying to reach perfection.

It's easy to say that we lead or walk by faith but do we really do it?  Do we really allow God to show us the way and help us to navigate our paths?

When God has called us to something, he is going to equip us with whatever we need to get there.  His ways are not our ways so the journey might not look like the way we think it should.

Have faith in knowing that God has already worked it out for you.  Just allow HIM to lead so that YOU can lead.

Today I am discussing the way that you show up authentically in your faith.  The Hip Hop artist DMX was honored during his funeral services this past weekend even though he lived a life of struggle.  While some may have viewed his life and faith as controversial, he was deeply rooted in his faith.  He obviously was able to reach many that others would not have been able to reach. His message and life were authentic to him and that resonated with many around the world.  

We do not have to pretend to have it all together or appear to live a life of perfection.  That's not the type of life that draws others to Christ.  Our struggles and showing how we have overcome them and are still overcoming shows that we are human.  It might just be the message that someone needs to be saved.

Some events have happened recently that made me reflect on the downside of leadership.  There is so much good that comes from good leadership, but sometimes there are those days we have to encourage ourselves and remember why we were called.  This was one of those days!

Everyone needs to fail at something at some point in their life and career.  It certainly doesn't feel good at the time, but it's how we grow and build resilience and character.  

"Failure is success in progress" is a quote from Albert Einstein and accurately describes in fact why we need to fail; it's necessary to reach success!

While launching the Successful Soul Circle Community last week, I encountered many others in business who have felt challenged balancing their faith and their business.  This seems to be something that many are experiencing but few are talking about it.   Why is it that we feel we have to choose one over the other, or feel like we can't express our faith as boldly as we express our business?

We have to be able to get a place where we can be 100% authentically ourselves and not be fearful of what others will think or who we might offend.  As long as you operate in love, you cannot go wrong exercising your faith.  Spreading the news of God is what we are here on Earth to do.  We are not able to take anything with us when we leave this Earth, but we can leave our legacy by what what we do for others.

Sometimes we feel like we are bound or restricted in business in that we can't openly talk about our faith or spirituality.

Today I am discussing some actions that will help you reach the work life balance that you so desire!  It's not a hard as you think and it simply begins with taking small action and building up over time.  Don't sacrifice your health and mental well being over your job.  Begin to take control of your life and live one of quality and purpose.

Being still can be hard for many of us including me.  We allow ourselves to get so weighed down from our lives and calendars that we miss out on what is really important.  The benefits of being still are tremendous!  We can hear from God more clearly.  We can receive answers to the questions we have.  We can be of better service to others and to those we lead.  Take sometime out to truly be still and discover the amazing results from it.

There are sometimes in our lives where we finally reach a breaking point or we come to a place where something has just got to change!  It's at this moment that our decision is most crucial.

The answer to continue to keep pushing or to pull out is going to depend on the purpose on the other side of the pushing.

My short and sweet answers to this today will help you decide if you should continue to push through or if it's time to pull out and refocus.

Rev. William A. Baker IV is a native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. His family and the loving saints at his childhood church (Clark Memorial Baptist Church) were the first to encourage his calling to preach the gospel. After high school William left home and journeyed to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma where he received his bachelor’s degree in New Testament Theology. It was also at Oral Roberts that he met the love of his life Mrs. Denise Baker. They have three wonderful sons Uriah, Noah, and William.

After his Undergraduate studies William and Denise returned to Pittsburgh and began to serve in the work of the Lord. William was ordained at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, North Versailles, Pa. under Rev. Barbara Gunn, and he completed his Masters of Divinity at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. In 2011 Rev. Baker was called to pastor the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Rankin, PA where he served as the senior pastor for 9 years.

Now God has called Pastor Baker into a new and adventurous season of ministry with the launch of William Baker Ministries, a platform where he can engage Christ Followers and Every Day People to understand, pursue, and enjoy a holistic relationship with God through faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. William Baker Ministries is rooted in the Gospel and reaching the globe in the 21st century.

Today I am chatting with my good friend and Executive Director of Hope for Tomorrow Keysha Gomez.  Hear all about how she defied the odds of being raised by a single teenage mother to now dedicating her life to inspiring and lifting up youth all over the Pittsburgh area.  Her story is one of overcoming and not letting her circumstances define her.

Keysha Gomez has been an avid proponent for youth for more than 20 years. Keysha is a graduating member of the 2018 CORO Next Neighborhood Leaders. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh and founding H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow, Inc. Keysha worked in the non-profit arena with a focus in substance abuse prevention and HIV early intervention. Under her direction, H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow has received two proclamations from the City of Pittsburgh, one naming September 16th H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow Day and the other naming May 18th H.O.P.E. for Tomorrow Volunteer Day, a reflection of the impact H.O.P.E. has had in recruiting and sustaining passionate volunteers. H.O.P.E. was also nominated for a CORO MLK Organizational Leadership Award (2018) under Keysha’s direction. Keysha is also the recipient of the 2018 Cupcakes Most Wanted Youth Ally Award and 2019 Pulse Magazine ‘40 under 40’ recipient.
