Pat Kelly, the founder of Ebony Horsewomen, has made a life out of bringing hope and healing to the kids of Hartford, CT. Things I Wish I Knew When I Was Twenty (but at least I know now)

I find that almost all the lessons I learn around horses can be applied to regular life. Last month I welcomed a new horse into the family. He's my first young project in a decade, and it's put me in a reflective mood. In this episode, I share some of my favorite pieces of wisdom I've picked up over the years - for horses and life.

Want to follow my journey with the new horse on Instagram (where I'm spamming everyone with adorable horse reels)? Check out @liveridelearn

If you want a bonus free short story, go to www.LiveRideLearn.com and join the newsletter! I generally send an email out 1-2 times a month with updates from the writing desk, special offers from other authors, and updates on the podcast.

How to Self-Coach Through Tough Emotions and Build Break-through Habits, with Melynda Benlemlih

How to Self-Coach Through Tough Emotions and Build Break-through Habits, with Melynda Benlemlih

Have you ever had a dream come true, only to be met with tough emotions you didn't expect? Have you ever been on vacation and found yourself frustrated because you're pulled from your daily routine or to-do list?

This week something I have been working toward for months finally came together, and I was heartbroken over it. It was the last thing I expected. I thought I would be giddy, like a school girl who walked out to the mailbox to find a new pony! Instead, I've spent the week swallowing back tears at inopportune moments.

When I logged onto my computer to interview Melynda, the last thing I expected was a coaching call with me at the center. Melynda guides us on a deep dive into choices, habits, emotions, and how to gain better control of all of them.

I hope this interview enriches your life as much as it has mine.

~Sarah, host of LiveRideLearn

All the details we promise during the episode:

Melynda refers to a previous episode where I talk about making lists! Here's the link. (PS this was one of my first episodes and WOW have things grown!)

Melynda is AMAZING and gifting us a FREE habit tracker! Just go to this web page and scroll down: https://www.cognitiveagilityllc.com/habit-tracker

Have some stuff to work through? I HIGHLY recommend booking a discovery call with her. Honestly all those negative emotions are GONE after our interview (I'm honestly wondering where they wondered off to). https://course.cognitiveagilityllc.com/bookacall

Unconventionally Good Horse Books, with Natalie Keller Reinert

Unconventionally Good Horse Books, with Natalie Keller Reinert

Natalie Keller Reinert took an unconventional route in life, which is one of the reasons she can bring so many places and experiences to life in her fiction. When I read her book, Runaway Alex, I immediately fell in love, so much so that I wrote a blog post about it, and dropped everything to invite her on the podcast.
Our chat spans from sharing our love of lizards to what it was like to work for top event trainers and so much more.
Whether you've read her books or not, Natalie is an incredibly interesting person with a great story.
If you love to read and, like me, have hardly touched a horse book since middle school, I implore you to check out her page-turning fiction! You won't be disappointed. The best place to start is on her website where you can join her newsletter and get access to a free book or two!

Three Lessons from my Book Journey for Your Next Goal

Three Lessons from my Book Journey for Your Next Goal

People keep asking me about the lessons I’ve learned from writing a book, so after a lot of thought I mapped out 3 to share in this episode. Whether your goal is to write a book, run a marathon, or survive the day with a smile, these are things we could all use more of in our lives.

Reading of “Finding a Place”, or as I like to call it, Rearing Rogue

Finally, as long promised, I’m reading a story from my Stories from the Barn Aisle book! It’s like a free audio book! It’s been one of the more complex ones to work through (I made changes to the story even after recording this), but also one of my favorite. Probably because it was such an epic, embarrassing, and in hind sight, hilarious moment. The cover and formatting are being finalized THIS WEEK and it should be available to order soon!

How I do “all the things” (and you can too), plus all about producing a book

How I do “all the things” (and you can too), plus all about producing a book

People keep asking me how on earth I’m getting everything done. So, I spent a few minutes sharing how I’m doing everything (momming, podcasting 2 shows, writing, blogging, wifing, horse riding, and continuing to build my Mary Kay biz!...oh yeah AND exercising). I’m tired just listing it all. Then I also wanted to share what’s going on with the book - it’s a real life no fluff view from the inside where I spilled my guts a tad. Enjoy!

How to find your footing when you start the mental spiral

How to find your footing when you start the mental spiral

We’ve all been there- the text with bad news or the governors mandate that changes everything (like you can’t leave your house unless it’s essential). Sometimes it may be as simple as a bill when money is tight that starts the mental spiral. The episode shares a story and technique for handling it when it feels like the sky is falling.

The stories we tell ourselves

The stories we tell ourselves

So much of our perspective is shaped by stories- assumptions we make that we assume to be true. She didn’t answer my message, he’s not coming for Christmas, his text message said this- why? We often answer the question, but are we answering it correctly? Is it the truth?
