In Mark 7:1-13, we see Jesus confronting the Pharisees and scribes about their adherence to human traditions over the commandments of God. The religious leaders were more concerned with outward rituals and practices, such as hand washing than with the state of their hearts.

James reminds us that no human being can tame the tongue, but with God's help, we can learn to control our speech and use it for good. Let us watch our mouths and ask God to give us the wisdom and discernment to use our words for His glory and the benefit of others.

May we strive to live out our faith in both our words and actions, reflecting the love and grace of our Savior.
