***LIVE***The Disappearance of Celeste Doghmi

Tonight we are joined by Joe Chapentier, an investigative reporter for the Sun Journal newspaper and author of an article that raised questions and brought the disappearance of Celeste Doghmi into the public eye. ***LIVE***The Elan School -Horror in Maine

Joined by the president of the Elan School Survivors, Mark Babitz, we look into the dark history of a Maine reformatory school. The facility was closed down on April 1, 2011, due to reports of abuse, many from former students, dating back to its opening in 1970. Throughout its history, the school was faced with numerous allegations of student maltreatment. In 2001, Details magazine cited Élan as "among the most controversial of the nation's residential therapeutic communities." In 1975, Illinois state officials removed eleven children from the Élan program, alleging mistreatment. In the late-1970s, Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Max Ashburn visited the school after repeatedly hearing rumors of abuse, but the staff did not allow him entry into the school past the lobby. Following this, he began keeping a file in which he documented names and phone numbers related to Élan, as well as reported abuses.

ON SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2019, 33-YEAR-OLD BRANDON EMBRY WAS FOUND NUDE, UNCONSCIOUS, AND BARELY BREATHING IN A POOL OF HIS OWN BLOOD ON THE FLOOR OF HIS ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA APARTMENT. HE HAD SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT TRAUMA AND WAS COVERED IN BLOOD, BRUISES, AND CUTS. HE WAS SO SEVERELY INJURED THAT HE DID NOT SURVIVE. INVESTIGATORS WERE QUICK TO CONCLUDE THAT BRANDON’S CAUSE OF DEATH WAS PNEUMONIA. THEY CLOSED HIS CASE LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AFTER HIS DEATH, STATING THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO INVESTIGATE BRANDON’S DEATH AS A HOMICIDE. THIS STATEMENT WAS MADE DESPITE THE OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A STRUGGLE, BRUTAL ASSAULT, AND A GIRLFRIEND WITH A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, OBSESSION, AND PATHOLOGICAL LYING. BRANDON’S MOTHER, SARAH HOWEVER, IS DETERMINED TO MAKE SURE THAT HER SON’S STORY IS HEARD AND THAT HE GETS JUSTICE, DESPITE WHAT THE ASHEBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT FAILED TO DO.

S4E2 What Really Happened to Paula Turkovich?

Paula Turkovich’s body was found on the rear of 200 Old Country Road in Mineola on March 31st, 2018 at 8:31pm the night before Easter.  What makes this case odd is Paula had dinner with her family and in within one hour she is found deceased.  PD claim it was a suicide but the timeline does not make sense.  The car Paula used that night was found at a train station an hour away from her house and a half hour from the parking garage she allegedly jumped from, however PD insist she took the train to the garage.  In Paula’s so called suicide letter which her mother believes she was forced to write but was so intelligent she rewrote a quote and underlined it. The quote was from a book called “Reconstructing Amelia” by, Kimberly McCreight, in the story the mom gets a call from her daughter’s school saying her daughter Amelia jumped from a building but in fact she never did jump someone murdered Amelia. They lured Amelia to the top of the building and she was pushed to her death. The medical examiner washed the clothes she was wearing and did not fingerprint. Tonight we speak to her mother Kathleen who is fighting for justice for her little girl Paula Turkovich.

S3E4 Missing Pitchers-What Happened to Dorothy and Danielle Pitcher?

S3E4 Missing Pitchers-What Happened to Dorothy and Danielle Pitcher?

Courtesy of missingpitchers.org:

On May 23rd, 1993, Dorothy Pitcher (47) and Danielle Pitcher (14) were kidnapped while walking along highway 181 at the s-curve, in Sunizona, Arizona. The mother and daughter left home at approximately 1pm to walk the 3 miles to the local RV Park store located on the corner of highway 181 and highway 191 in Cochise County, Arizona. It was common for the family to walk to and from the store. However, Dorothy was adamant about not accepting rides from strangers and expressed this to her children.

Along their route, Dorothy and Danielle stopped at the house of one of Dorothy’s older daughters and asked if she would like to join them. She declined. This was the last time anyone spoke to Dorothy and Danielle. After this encounter, there were few sightings of the two.

Dorothy & Danielle Pitcher were last seen on highway 181, at the s-curve, in Cochise County, 1.5 miles away from their home on Ash Creek Road in Sunizona, Arizona. A dog was brought in and picked up the mother and daughter’s scent at the store and followed it along highway 181, but the scent was dropped at the s-curve. Husband and father, Jack Pitcher, was ruled out as a suspect after passing 2 polygraph tests. There have been ‘person(s) of interest’ but to this day, no arrests have been made.

‘Someone knows what happened to Dorothy and Danielle Pitcher on May 23rd, 1993.’

Dawn Pitcher continues to search for answers to what happened to her mother and sister and will not rest until she finds justice for Dorothy & Danielle and peace for her family. She created the organization Missing Pitchers in 1993 to aid in the search for her mother and sister and has spoken out about the case.

The Pitcher case remains open and criminal activity is suspected. It is now considered a murder investigation.

S3 E3 Have They Found Patricia Lee Otto?

S3 E3 Have They Found Patricia Lee Otto?

Patricia was last seen in Lewiston, Idaho late in the evening on September 2, 1976. She got into an argument with her husband, Ralph Otto, and left the house angrily. She never returned.

Ralph didn't report her missing; her sister did, on October 8, more than a month after she was last seen. Patricia left behind all her belongings, including her car and her wedding rings, which she normally didn't remove. The rings were found in Ralph's coat pocket, but they have since been lost.

Patricia and Ralph's marriage was difficult and she had left on her own before. She filed for divorce in the spring of 1976, but later reconciled with her husband. They were fighting at the time of her disappearance because he believed she was unfaithful to him. After her disappearance, Ralph told their two young daughters that their mother had abandoned them.

Authorities theorize Patricia was murdered, and Ralph is the prime suspect in her disappearance. One of the couple's daughters said he was an alcoholic who "incriminating statements about himself" in relation to his wife's case. Another daughter, then three years old, said she saw her father assault her mother on the night Patricia disappeared, and that the last time she saw her mother, her father had his hands around her neck.

Less than a year after she vanished, he was convicted of hiring a contract killer to murder the lead investigator in Patricia's disappearance. The verdict was overturned on a technicality in 1981, however. Ralph died of a heart attack a few years later, while in jail on an unrelated charge.

Patricia and Ralph's daughters who were raised by their paternal aunt and uncle after their father's death. One of the daughters is now deceased, but the other is still alive and still looking for answers in her mother's case. Her case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.

We speak to her daughter Suzanne Timms and her friend and advocate Mel Jederberg about the possibility of a Jane Doe found 3 hours from where her mother disappeared being her mother.  Truth is stranger than fiction

S3 E2 The Suspicious Death of Linda Maxwell

S3 E2 The Suspicious Death of Linda Maxwell

A teenage girl goes out with friends in Calais. Days later, her body washes ashore.

Life in the small town turned upside down in 1984.

Kim Steadman was one of the last people to see Linda Maxwell alive 37 years ago, she still doesn't know how her friend ended up dead in the St. Croix River.

"Her biggest fear was drowning," Steadman said.

She was 18 years old.

Steadman says there was a group of men in a truck that night, they were older and into drugs. She saw Linda with them on the night of August 23, when the group pulled into "the mart" parking lot, their usual hangout.

She says Linda left with the same group. The next morning, she was a missing person, and the community started to search.

Three days later, Linda's naked body washed ashore at the Robbinston boat landing.

With little evidence, the case went cold.

Nothing can bring Linda back, but answers would ease some of the pain for this small town.

But the question remains, will anyone speak up, to bring a killer to justice?

Tonight we are joined by Kim Steadman, a childhood friend of Linda Maxwell as she tells the story of what she has learned about that night,

S2 E13 What Really Happened to Liz Perkins?

S2 E13 What Really Happened to Liz Perkins?

On the evening of July 31st, 2018 Liz Munster, who also goes by the name Perkins had been picked up at a friend's house in Augusta  Maine by a male individual at about 8:30pm.  She never came home, her family believe she overdosed at his home and he disposed of her body on the side of the weeks mills road in Augusta Maine in the early hours of August 1st,2018.  This man admitted to police she had been with him that night and took them to the location where her body was found yet he has never been charged with any crime.

Laws need to change in Maine in regards to illegally disposing of a human body.  Detectives told the family they could do nothing more than charge him with littering.   Why is this man still walking free?  If she died of an overdose, text messages show that he provided her with the drugs.  Due to decomposition, the medical examiner was unable to rule a cause of death for Liz Perkins.

We urge you to take a moment and sign a petition for the family to try to get a bill that would change the laws in Maine in regards to disposal of a human body at the link below

S2E12 Justice for Kaylene Oehling

S2E12 Justice for Kaylene Oehling

Kaylene Oehling was last seen at a friend's home in Etna, Pennsylvania late in the evening on January 9, 2020. She left home to meet her boyfriend, Michael D. Manno, and was supposed to return, but never came back. At 1:36 a.m. on January 10, she texted her mother to confirm she'd see her at 9:30 a.m.; she was going to babysit her younger siblings while her mother was at work. She never arrived and has never been heard from again.  At around the same time Oehling called her mother, she posted on her Facebook account saying Manno had committed a robbery. Within an hour her account had been deactivated. Since her disappearance, all calls to her phone have gone straight to voicemail and her EBT (electronics benefit transfer) card has not been used.  Manno is considered the prime suspect in Oehling's disappearance. He has stated she is alive and he has been in touch with her and knows her whereabouts, but he refuses to say where she is or otherwise cooperate with law enforcement. After her disappearance, he sent explicit photographs of Oehling to both her father and her seventeen-year-old sister. As a result, he was charged with corruption of minors, He has an extensive criminal record.  No charges have been filed in Oehling's disappearance, but she's considered to be in danger and foul play is possible. Her case remains unsolved. Tonight we talk to Kaylene's father Jason Oehling about his daughter and his fight for justice.
