Heartbreak Anniversary

Okay, but this time I'm actually back. This week I've decided to take some time to reflect on the past year. A year full of trauma, heartache, depression, anxiety, loss, but most importantly a year of healing and growth. This episode will inspire you to get up and go.

Confronting the Grief And Accepting the Healing [feat. Ily Carpena]

Confronting the Grief And Accepting the Healing [feat. Ily Carpena]

This week’s guest features Ily Carpena, my OG on all things mental health. Ily is my bestie, ex-manager, and most importantly the only person I ever talked to about my grief when I entered my 20’s. We shared the common ground of grieving the loss of a family member after her late brother's passing and in this week's episodes, we sit down and reflect on the evolution of our grief and journey to healing after much reckless behavior. In this last part we dive into spirituality, prioritizing your healing, and awakening to our journey of self-love and acceptance.
Feel the grief, feel the emotions.

Growing Through Faith w/ Essence Smith

Growing Through Faith w/ Essence Smith

In this Part 2 episode, we cover intentionality with oneself, work, and relationships as well as spiritual healing and growing through faith to create a meaningful and balanced life.

Essence Smith is a DJ, entrepreneur and serves as the director of operations & communications for SocialWorks. In addition, Smith owns her own event planning business titled ELMS, event planning and production LLC, where she curates memorable events tailored to the vision of her clients. Though Essence is capable and more than willing to plan events of all themes and genres, within ELMS, her main focus is to produce events with a purpose — the purpose to support and elevate the importance of women of color. In response to COVID-19 and interest in looking to support Black female essential workers during these unprecedented times, on May 25, 2020, Essence and Chelsey launched the first Black Women Are Essential shirt in order to raise funds to provide 'BWAE' kits to 50 Black female essential workers across the Chicagoland area.

Black Women Are Essential W/ Essence Smith

This week's notable guest is the amazing Essence Smith. She is a Chicago native, DJ, entrepreneur, and activist. In this Part 1 episode Essence takes us back on her journey from being Chance the Rappers assistant during his rapid rise to fame to then serving as the Director of Operations & Communications to his notable non-profit SocialWorks. This episode takes listeners into Essence's journey of entrepreneurship to uplift the Black community, most importantly Black women.

Come Back Home w/ Adam Martinez

Come Back Home w/ Adam Martinez

Adam's latest single, Come Back Home is OUT NOW!

Making his podcast debut, Musical triple-threat Adam Martinez adeptly holds the titles of singer, songwriter, and producer all before the age of 25. Adam was born with music in his DNA: His Mexican-American family includes famed Chicago Latino musicians whose contributions are ingrained in the city’s cultural history. This last part of the two-part series is absolutely hysterical as we discuss life-changing events and keeping one-self motivated through tumultuous times, and most importantly to just keep pushing.

Breaking The Cycle w/ Paulina Roe

Wooah it's the last episode of the year!!

This week I had the amazing opportunity to talk to multimedia personality, Chicago native, and iHeartRadio's 103.5 KISS-FM very own, Paulina Roe. As a Latina/Polish woman who grew up in an immigrant household, Paulina has a passion for volunteering with local community organizations and is an advocate for mental health awareness. Paulina founded the “Get Yo Mind Right” initiative to help break the stigma surrounding mental health while providing free healing and services to Chicago’s underserved communities. Hear us discuss breaking generational cycles, stigmas, healing, and the inner child. Don't forget to FOLLOW + SHARE the podcast on Instagram for any updates, @LaughingOutOfDepression | @TheHannahMolina
