So many people ask me what inspired this podcast and what my process was to launch it and when was my ah-ha moment, well here it is. This week’s guest features Ily Carpena, my OG on all things mental health. Ily is my bestie, ex-manager, and most importantly the only person I ever talked to about my grief when I entered my 20’s. We shared the common ground of grieving the loss of a family member after her late brother's passing and in this week's episodes, we sit down and reflect on the evolution of our grief and journey to healing after much reckless behavior.

Ashley Llorens is a brave 26-year old whose world was turned upside down after a tragic car accident just two years ago. Ashley, along with her twin sister suffered severe spinal cord injuries and became new members of a group so many of us tend to dismiss, the disabled. In this episode, Ashley and I discuss her friendships, future, accepting her new self, and unlearning her internalized ableism. Most importantly Ashley reminds us to just be happy and grateful for what we have because everything can change in an instant.
