This week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Becky Rothmaler, New York City-based makeup artist and licensed esthetician. Becky’s work has appeared in magazines such as Vulkan, Nylon Spain, Vogue Italia, and many more. She’s worked with brands such as Revlon, the M Jewelers, Apparis, Netflix, and Conde Nast. She was the key makeup artist for Marc Bouwers SS20 at NYFW.  Becky talks about making the switch and going back to school to become a makeup artist. She describes how she’s always had a passion for makeup artistry and how her B.A in Fine Art augmented this love. Becky gives us advice on building a makeup portfolio and getting to work with different teams.

He describes the process of teaching himself illustration and the production process. This week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Aya Tariq, New York City-based makeup artist, her work has been published in magazines such as LadyGunn, Solstice, Man of Metropolis, Metropolis Sport, and Paper. She has worked on many commercial and fashion projects for Under Armour, Perrier, Walmart, Ssense, Apparis, and NYFW.    Aya talks about how she used her time at home to be creative and get to know herself better.
