Designing the Last Loquitur

On today’s episode we get to chat with our good friend Belinda Hedden from the SEAL office previewing some upcoming events in March and April. We talk specifically about the Easter Egg hunt happening on March 21st and EPIC week which will take place near the end of April.

We also talk with our first repeat guest Andrew Stovenour about the new design for our print copies of the Loquitur that gets distributed around campus. He discusses the process for coming up with the design and some of the challenges that came along the way while it was being built. If you haven’t already, make sure to grab a physical copy of the newspaper the next time you are on campus to see all of the amazing work that Andrew has been doing.

Cabrini DEIB and Final MBB Alumni Game

On today’s episode we dive into the topic of diversity with Cabrini’s Vice President of Mission, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Dr. Angela Campbell. We talk about the history of DEIB on campus, what the mission will be for these last few months, and how we are celebrating Black History Month throughout February.

We then sit down with our Sports Editor Sam Taddei to discuss her coverage of the final Cabrini Men’s Basketball Alumni game. She tells us about the event's atmosphere, stories from the alumni she talked with, and her takeaways from hearing legendary coach John Dzik’s powerful speech at halftime. We overview how she got involved with Wolfington and some of the projects she’s been able to take a part of, her involvement presenting during Cabrini Day, and other ways that students can utilize the Wolfington Center throughout the year.

He gives us the entire timeline of his writing process from when he first got on the team covering the situation to his research sifting through hundreds of pages of tax forms to uncover some fascinating information.

On today's episode of Talk 59, Jason Fridge sits down and talks with Sophomore Dom Petruzzeli, one of our esteemed student leaders on campus who is involved nearly everywhere. We touch on his role as the national representative for the Atlantic East Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee, some of the major discussions happening at the national level, and preview a couple of big events happening on campus this semester.

We then welcome one of our staff writers for The Loquitur Brooke Protesto who talks about her first month as a journalist in our newsroom. We dive into her most recent article talking about nursing student athletes who had to transfer to Eastern to take classes but are still competing on the field as Cavaliers. She also previews another feature story she’s working on looking at one of our men’s soccer student athletes who received an Atlantic East Medal of Inspiration over the summer. Come join Victoria Emmitt, co-host and Editor-in Chief, Jason Fridge, assistant podcasting editor and Host Lashay Smith on this weeks episode! We had the chance to sit and talk with your lifestyles editor, Hannah Poggi about her most recent published story about the merge between student life and athletics. She had the opportunity to speak with Kate Corcoran and the new Res Life director, Monica Carson! There are some great things underway for this new merge. We also had the opportunity to sit and chat with Sydnee Reddy who is very involved in the Com department here at Cabrini University and an RA. We talked favorite floor programs, expired caramel in her refrigerator and even her bunny being on a leash ( for good reason of course.)
