The Truth is this complex, the fruit-forward character leaves a really sweet bitterly taste- but not too much so. Tastes of pineapple, sweet citrus and tangerine.

@authortedbell Hawke series is amazing. I’ve just gotten into English adventure story and I won’t be slowing down. Lord Alexander Hawke is a descendant of English pirate Blackhawke. Now a decorated naval hero for England, he gets tapped by the American spy agencies for sensitive missions. Incredibly written.

@vinceflynn.comoff Term Limits. This could be the greatest debut for any author today. Everyone should probably read this book. And do so, today. Many books later, & I’m still enthralled by one of America’s greatest operatives: Mitch Rapp.

Tom Clancy: damn near where it all began for me. — President Ronald Reagan received "The Hunt for Red October" as a gift and called Clancy's first published novel, "my kind of yarn." From there, Clancy made a trip to the White House to meet with Reagan. @marccameronbooks is leaving his legacy on the pages of Jack Ryan novels. Maybe my protagonist will live so long to be called a classic.

I started reading Dale Brown by accident. It’s true. I went to order @authordanbrown book Angels & Demons but gotten too excited.

The rest is history. I’ve collected and read all of the heroic exploits of Patrick McLanahan.

I'm a huge fan of this particular season. I enjoy the Fall foliage. I enjoy transitioning to heavier wine and beer. But you know what really grinds my gears? Changing of the clocks. Who wants to feel tired at 4pm? You go to work and it's dark. You come home from work and it's dark. This outdated tradition must come to a swift ending. We should not stand for feeling tired AND depending on your location, freezing off such sensitive body parts. It's cruel and inhumane; quite frankly.

What are your thoughts on red wine and boozier brews during the winter snap? White in summer? Is it time for that tradition to be eradicated as well? Perhaps.

It's finally Bourbon Night!!

Lost City Library's BookIt! The Podcast is eagerly (and expertly) reviewing 3 amazing bourbon's. Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey, Jim Beam's Double Oak, and Redemption Bourbon. All three are classics, all three are tasty, and all three are a perfect pairing to your budget!

JD Tennessee Whiskey:

80% Corn. 12 % Rye. 10 % Malt. Nose: Light/ Sweetness. Palate: Dry Spice. Oily nuts. Finish: Sweeet and toasty oak

Jim Beam Double Oak:

77% Corn. 13% Rye. 10% Barley. Palate: DRY DRY DRY :) Some kind of dehydrated cherry flavor for sure. Notes of char- giving it a long peppery finish

Redemption Bourbon:

75% Corn. 21% Rye. 4% Barley. Palate: Somewhat watery, grain other times. Finishes a little short. It feels like it's missing a pop. Appearance: Gold in the glass. Nose: Sour note present. Oak taste gives way to a more wood or pencil shaving finish.

I know my average time it takes me to enjoy my stogie to the fullest :) But I also made what was quite possibly my one great shot of the round.

What goes into the perfect pairing of books, drink, and cigars?

We've all become more creative as we adapt to our new normal. For me, I take a look at the cover art or title of my book. I'll use a word from the title and pair that with the label on a particular wine and the wrap of a cigar. For example, I can sit down with author Brad Thor's book titled "Near Dark" and match that with a dark roast coffee. Now, wouldn't that go nicely with Rocky Patel's Dark Dominion cigar? There you have it! That's the secret.
