As a self-described #MidSize girl, she shares videos on how to find clothes that fit your body when you sometimes fall between straight-sizes and plus-sizes.
Today we tackle some questions that she received through Instagram including:
1. What to do if you're fluctuating in weight and scared if people from your past think of you as “fat”
2. How did you let go of diet culture? It's so hard when it's everywhere.
3. How do you let go of the fact that skinny does not equate beauty and superiority?
4. Is it bad to want to change? I am happy in my body but I think I could be happier [if I were thinner].
5. What do you do if you cant stop comparing yourself to people who have "better" bodies than you?
6. How do you deal with comparing yourself with other girls?

A 12-week virtual program (+3-day in person retreat) to help stop the crazy round food, learn to trust and stop hating their body and start living lives that they truly love
Hey sweet friends! Today I bring to you something sparkly and a new: a guided meditation.
Meditation and Visualization are powerful and effective tools to help you in creating and cultivating the relationship you desire with food and your body.... and your dream life. They support us in rewiring our subconscious mind which is largely responsible for how we live our life.
My challenge to you: Do this meditation every day for 30 days and then report back to me how it's impacted your life and how you show up around food.
DISCLAIMER: This meditation will benefit those healing from the diet-binge cycle. It is not recommend for those in early recovery from anorexia. If you are unsure if this is a good fit for you please consult with your health care professional before practicing this guided mediation.

In this solocast, I explore a really common roadblock with letting go of restriction and embodying Unconditional Permission to Eat, and that's giving yourself "Conditional Permission" .
I share with you how I was giving myself "conditional permission" to take a break from creating content on Instagram so I wasn't really getting the full benefit of taking a break and how I see others giving themselves "conditional permission" to foods so they are not really giving up restricting, and thus still struggling with binge eating, food obsession and disordered eating.
I share with you how to see if you are giving yourself "conditional permission" and leave you with some questions to ask yourself so that you can tune in and see where you are getting stuck for yourself.
ALSO: Enrollment for Food Body Soul is still open. It's my new group coaching program to help women transition from food obsession to food freedom. It's a 12-week program (+ a 3 day retreat) to help women stop the crazy around food, learn to trust their body and start living lives they truly love.

In this episode I interview Aly Nagel, founder of the women's movement "Don't Call Me Pretty". Her mission is to help woman disconnect their worth from their weight, which is what society traditionally teaches us. In this interview, I talk with my dear friend and powerhouse of a coach, Ashley Rose, @aroseylife
TRIGGER WARNING, for this episode, we talk candidly about childhood sexual abuse and how it effected her relationship with her body, including her body image. She suffered with cystic acne which has greatly impacted her self esteem and she shares what has helped her heal from the insecurity it created. We dive into some the the healing work we've done and how it has helped us care about what is on the inside, instead of what we look like on the outside. The amazing episode wraps up talking about Diet Culture, including how she is navigating the world with a 10 year old daughter and 13 year old son, and working on raising intuitive eaters.
Find Ashley on instagram @aroseylife
In this solocast, I dive in why it's so important for us to find an emotionally moving reason WHY we want to recover and heal our relationship with food. Knowing you want freedom from food is not enough, we have to also know "WHY" we want it. Otherwise we will get stopped at the "How" because the "How" is where all our fears live.
The "How" requires us to get out of our comfort zone and take new action. This episode will support you in finding your why and at the end I give you a "homework" assignment to support you.
I also share about my upcoming 3-month group coaching program called Food, Body, Soul! It's a safe container for woman who are ready to truly transform their relationship with food, their body and their LIFE.

In this solocast, I share very candidly about my eating disorder. Trigger warning for anyone currently going through one. Please use your best judgement when deciding to listen. I talk about my behaviors in specifics.
After a conversation with a friend this past weekend in NYC, she encouraged me to share this side, the ugly dark side. The rawness of my struggle. And I do not get through it without crying a few times, so brace yourself, shit is about to get real.
This is the cliffs notes version as I am recalling 10 years in 30 minutes but I hope that you can see yourself in my story. If you can, then my story will give you hope about what's possible for you and your healing!
At the end, I introduce my new group coaching program, Food Body Soul, a 3-month-container for women who are ready to heal their relationship with food, connect to the woven in wisdom of their body and start living from a soul aligned place!
It's going to be F*cking EPIC!

In this episode, I interview Shelbey Hagen on a Public Health approach to eating disorders, disordered eating, fatphobia and Diet Culture. We discuss how Diet Culture impacts the health of people negatively on a micro and macro level. We discuss how we can use a Socio-Ecological Model to create change.
In this episode, I interview the lovely Bree Shook from @Simplehealthyeats. We talk about how she used food to cope with loneliness as a young girl and what it was like growing up always thinking her body wasn't how it should be. Like many of us she took to food, exercise and pursing health to change that, but it eventually brought way more negativity into her life.
We explore her "wake up call" that finally had her decide to work on her relationship with food and what it was like finally sharing her struggle with another person.
The topics include:
Binge Eating and using food as a coping mechanism
Health and Wellness diets and how they teach us to restrict
The power of Instagram and coaching
How the real answers to healing are within you
And so much more!

In this solocast, I dive into what it means to listen to your body. I break it down into a simple to understand way, so you can see how you are already listening to your body in some ways which will give you clues how to tune-in in other areas.
You will walk away with practical tips to help you connect to your hunger and fullness signals.
In this episode, I interview Em von Euw, from the award winning blog This Rawsome Vegan Life! And it is a gem of an episode.
We dive into their journey through disordered eating, from being obsessed with the purity and quality of every bite of food, to later discovering that grilled cheese can be a health food. Listen to discover why and how- it just might blow your mind.
On their path to recovery, they uncovered the deep roots that Diet Culture has in colonialism, capitalism, "white-ness" and racism, and how this understanding was able to bring peace and compassion into their life.
Buckle up, this is an episode with complex & confronting topics, not for the faint at heart! Come with an open mind and explore some new perspectives with us. We talk about Diet Culture in a way that is less obvious yet crucial to fully understanding the wide spread implications it has on society and the role politics play.
Em's Resource Guide for this Episode: HERE
In this Solocast, I explain what Diet Culture is and how even if we don't think we are dieting, we are still participating in the culture of dieting. It's so pervasive and woven into the fabric of Western Culture that its hard to see it as a separate entity that we can opt out of. By listening to this podcast you will be able to see Diet Culture for what it is and discover how it is effecting your life in overt and covert ways. Hopefully by the end you will feel empowered and choose to leave it behind.

In this episode, we interview Dana Monsees, CNS, MS from @RealfoodwithDana.
Dana used to be a Whole 30 Coach who recently made a massive pivot and shift in her business after realizing that Whole 30 was not delivering "Food Freedom" to most of her clients. Rather it was doing the opposite, it was either making their relationship with food worse, or had contributed to the beginning of a struggle with binge eating.
She had gone through her own struggles with an eating disorder and knew in her heart she had to make the switch in her business.
We also talk about:
Clinical Nutrition and the argument for the nutritional middle ground
Real food for healing
And so much more!
I think you are going to love it.

In this episode, I interview Ingrid Nilsen and cover a wide range of topics including her journey with YouTube, her relationship with makeup and acne, to exploring her sexuality and coming out online.
We talk about the small but growing trend in media and advertising away from Photoshop and using only one body type, and the excitement and importance of this shift.
An area she has recently become very interested in is body hair and I loved exploring this topic with her. I find it mind-boggling that we (myself included) have been trained to find this naturally occurring part of our humanity as gross and unfeminine.
Other topics we cover:
Curiosity and Judgement

In this solocast, I introduce a new series called Sunday Sessions where I share with you recent downloads I have received from my intuition and highest self.

This first one is about wrinkles, or what I refer to as lines of experience and wisdom.
I hope you love this new series!

In this solocast, I talk about compliments and share about my niece, Emma.
Ever since she was born, I have become increasingly aware of my natural inclination to want to comment on her cuteness. And while it is a compliment, I can't deny my inner guidance system setting off alarm bells, telling me to comment on anything BUT her appearance.
Given the reality of our world, girls are bombarded with messages of beauty from the minute they pop out of the womb.
"oh you look so pretty" "your dress and bow are so cute"
This follows us throughout our lives, where appearances that fit the current ideal are highly regarded and praised. Which is why we go to such great lengths to achieve thinness and beauty.
What I have discovered is that complimenting appearance, and especially weight loss, even if well-intentioned, can cause more harm than good in the long run.
Ultimately they reinforce the oppressive narrative and collective cultural agreement that what matters most for women is their nice-to-look-at-ness. And it's a narrative I want to dismantle because it is not true.
Today on the LOVE YOUR BOD POD, I dive into compliments and when they can do more harm than good.

In this episode of the #LYBP, I interview Caty Pasternak, Women's Leadership Coach. She truly is one foot soul, one foot swagger and you can't help but be captivated by her electric personality and devotion to her work.
We dive deep into her struggles with food and body image and how stumbling across spirituality and embracing a meditation and mindfulness practice helped her heal after years of trying to find something that would work.
A belief that Caty and I share is that the answers are within you, not outside of you, and continuing to search for the right way to eat and live outside of ourselves leaves most of us lost and confused. By connecting to her intuition through meditation she was able to find intuition with food, and learn to trust her body.
She brings a fresh perspective to the podcast we have yet to hear and I think you will love this episode!
FOUR PILLARS TO FIERCE, FEMININE LEADERSHIP: https://www.sexysoulmasterclass.com/p/fierce-feminine-leadership-lp
In this short but juicy solocast, I dive into the concept of "having integrity with what you ingest".
It played a huge role in my own eating disorder recovery and I know it will make a difference for you, too.
Our "diet" is not just the food we eat, it's the conversations we have, people we surround ourselves with , and media we consume including TV, Magazines and Social.
Cultural messages can form what is called External oppression which contributes to Internalized oppression. Both of which greatly impact our relationship with food and our body image.
Having integrity with what we ingest allows us to do the honest work necessary to heal.
Otherwise we are just pouring salt in the wound.

Ali talks about her struggles with orthorexia, binge eating and body image, and shares what has helped her on her road towards food freedom.
A huge component we explore is mindset and how having one that leaves room for flexibly is crucial. Black and white, good and bad, only perpetuate disorder eating.
It's all about living life in the gray.

In this solocast, I share with you my 4-step process for creating goals from the soul.
The framework I use is called Authentic Inspiration (A.I) vs Shameful Obligation (S.O) and I teach you, using examples from my own life, how to create from A.I. and decipher if and when you are creating from S.O.
When we are A.I. to accomplish a goal it's easy and fun. When the goal is rooted in S.O. we are less likely to complete it and typically do not enjoy the process.
I of course chit chat briefly about creating goals to lose weight in 2019 and I declare with you some of my goals for next year.
Be sure to share your goals and new years resolutions with me on IG. I would love to know if you like this 4-step process and what you are generating as a result of using it.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Thank you SO much for listening to Love Your Bod Pod
In this solocast, I dive into the philosophy of The Four Bodies and how in order to truly be well, all of them need to be healthy. The four bodies are Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual. Our society disproportionately focuses on the physical body, with an emphasis on size and appearance as well as "good & bad foods" for nourishment. When we look at health in a silo and obsess over the physical body, most of us end up unwell and stressed out. This is why honoring the health of all four of our bodies, and taking this holistic approach to health is a great way to truly embody a sense of well-being.

In this episode, we chat with Body Positive Youtub-er Carrie Dayton, who also happens to be a long time friend of mine.
In the last year or so she has really shifted the focus of her VERY popular YouTube channel to talk more about body image and body positivity. She talks all things dieting as well as embracing her body at a larger size now that she is in her thirties.
A topic we discuss is hanging onto "skinny clothes" or clothes that do not fit our here and now body which is something that I think a lot of us can relate to.
We talk about her Story Time videos and her Big Sis advice videos which are also something that so many women connect with.
Slight trigger warning around the 23-minute mark we mention exact sizes so please skip past that if you have an active ED.

In this episode, I address a question I have been getting on Instagram about healthy eating and intuitive eating. There is a common misconception that intuitive eating and anti-diet means anti-nutrition, which could not be further from the truth.
This notion is a result of black and white thinking around nutrition and health that comes from diet culture and even wellness culture which I explain in this episode.
Typically when we look at health in a silo and think that we need to eliminate all unhealthy foods to be healthy we fall into disordered eating and restrictive thinking that interferes with the quality of our life.
This episode explains when "healthy eating" can actually be unhealthy.

*HAPPY HALLOWEEN! In this episode, I get real and vulnerable with you. Not only do we interview my boyfriend, Brent, and he share's what it's like to be a fat man in a fatphobic world but I also share with you about how at first his body size kept me at arm's length.
I admit stuff I've never admitted out loud before but I also share with you how he has helped me grow and shift my perspective on fatness. Brent shares about his history with food, dieting, calorie restriction, and body insecurities.
He also talks about how weight and body size is not a deal breaker in dating and he shares with us what most men care about more than a skinny body.
In this episode, I talk about how getting on the scale can be very triggering if we are struggling with food and how it further disconnects us from our Body Wisdom.
Like many, I used to get on the scale and let that number mean something about my worth as a human and it influenced how the rest of the day would go. It affected my mood, self-esteem, and food and exercise choices.
I challenge the "accountability and motivating argument" that I so often hear. Instead of waking up, and "checking in" with a weigh-in, I offer another, more potent and effective way to take care of your health.

This is a lengthy solo episode that has two parts.
First, I share with you about a breakthrough I had at a women's retreat this past weekend about speaking my truth and my commitment moving forward to trust my voice.
The second part is a result of that breakthrough.
I am talking about something that has been on my mind but I haven't talked much about before today out of fear of being too polarizing.
And that is how I believe the work I am doing falls under social justice and women's rights. I am an accidental activist and believe that freeing women up from body shame and food obsession is an act of feminism.
The problem is not your body. The problem is the culture that makes you believe something is wrong with you if you do not look like a Barbie doll.
I mention this podcast in the episode and for more context on what I am talking about, check it out: https://unladylike.co/episodes/020/equal-rights-amendment
I reference quotes from the book "The Beauty Myth" by Naomi Wolf
In this episode, I interview Jessica Demasi Rothley, EPC a.k.a. @Whollyhealed on Instagram.
We explore the implications of dieting and disordered eating on female hormone health and what happens when half the population is chronically underfed. I ask her if she thinks "wellness culture" is the new "diet culture" and she has a fabulous answer.
I especially love her popular #TabooTuesday posts, including why "fat is not a feeling" and "female nudity." She believes real talk is the only kind of talk and I could not agree more.
Quote: "A culture fixated on female thinness is not an obsession about female beauty, but an obsession about female obedience. Dieting is the most potent political sedative in women’s history; a quietly mad population is a tractable one.” - Naomi Wolf

Body Wisdom is having a deep, intimate relationship with your body based on the signals, cues, and information it sends you. We each have woven in wisdom and our bodies already have the perfect plan for health and wellness programmed into them. We just have to start to listen.
But there are major blocks in the world of health and nutrition that make it hard for us to tune in and hear what our body is saying.
I break down the top 5 blocks that most of us face so you can see where you are getting stuck.
Body Wisdom is also the title of my book, You can find the book on Amazon.
