One with the Game, Golfs greatest challenge.

When you play your favorite game are you one with the game? You know what I'm talking about, you are in that momenet completely focused on competing and doing what is needed to deliver results you expect. Then you have a choice. Control your emotions, continue to compete or give in to your feelings and falter. Coach Wightman will share insights about the the game of golf and how it may represent the ultimate challenge for managing your emotions in order to be one with the game. #360Performance #MindsetMoment.

How do your performance intangibles manifest champion outcomes? The right moment delivered by the most unlikely participant.

How do your performance intangibles manifest champion outcomes? The right moment delivered by the most unlikely participant.

The most unlikely preformers who tap the intangibles that drive them deliver actions that create championship results.  NBA, NHL and NCAA baseball are searching for their intangibles that may deliver a championship.  What are your intangible skills that separate you from others?  #360Performance #MindsetMoment Dr. Wightman shares his thoughts about what behaviors coaches and players demonstrate that represent championship outcomes.

Coach Wightman examines #SteveKerr Head Coach and 2022 NBA champ for the Golden State Warriors behavior that allows players to open up and deliver intangible skills and the right time. Players such as Gary Payton II or Andre Iguodala who from the bench motivate others to release their intangible skills.  Even the super stars like Steph Curry find new ways, or intangibles, to add to their game.  Player like Steph Curry find intangibles after they have been challenged with adversity, and the last 2 years for Curry have been very challenging.  Kyle Thompson is another Warrior that was challenged by recovery from injury and the taunts from the press that motivated him to find intangibles to adapt to his circumstances.  Dr. Wightman exams these players and other sport examples that illustrate the importance of being aware and ready to deliver skills that define who you are.

Structuring a Successful Professional Sport Franchise- Semi Pro Men's Basketball

Lindsey G Streeter is a retired Army Sergeant Major that seldom speaks without immediate actions that align with expectations and/or commitment to others.  It is his love for community and the humanity it represents that guided him to start a Semi-Pro Men's Basketball team called the Savannah Hurricanes.  You might ask, "Why would you do that?", and Lindsey's answer would be because the community will benefit and our efforts may change the lives of many for the better.  So, building a professional sports franchise is a pathway to community health and prosperity and not a journey focused wealth and riches.

The Savannah Hurricanes start their 2022-23 season October 2022.  At the time this podcast was tapped Lindsey had engaged support from the Figgers Foundation, Savannah city leaders, and military veterans association at levels that are engaging and galvanizing for each community he visits.  Hurricanes' players will be involved in the community at levels they have yet discover, and Sergeant Major Streeter will make sure their is clearly defined pathway to get involved.

Level Up Performance Outcomes- What are your elite intangible performance skills? When do you call upon your intangible skills to Level Up your performance capability?

Level Up Performance Outcomes- What are your elite intangible performance skills? When do you call upon your intangible skills to Level Up your performance capability?

Knowing who you are so that your intangible skills may deliver championship results #MindsetMoment. Minimally letting out your intangible skills will deliver extraordinary results at the right time, but unexpectedly from an uncommon source. When we watch NBA finals, or NCAA baseball and softball World Series or the PGA Championships how do these elite athletes know when to draw upon their intangible skills? The most unlikely participants are not always the champion or elite athlete that consistently delivers results.

What are those intangibles and who on your team will deliver their extraordinary skills and possibly a championship? Another question, who will deliver the intangibles that will deliver outstanding outcomes? Lastly, can you train players on how to be aware of their intangibles? Dr. Wightman separates training from confidence, practice, and delivering what is necessary at the right moment. Enjoy our discussion about Leveling Up your participation and being aware of who you are and what you bring to the table.

• How have current work place standards influenced the need for mental health to support retention?

• What do current leaders need to know about transitioning out of COVID pain points?

• Is the Hybrid Workplace here to stay?

Ms. Holman points out that mental wellness is a global issue, and that all business sizes may mental health challenges.  Ms Holman points out that starting programs about mental wellness reduces mental illness occurences but does not guarantee staff members will not still burnout.  If mental wellness programs reduce emotional disruption to burn out compared to the alternatives of violent crime or violent abuses that result in death perhaps EAP mental wellness progams should be business culture service norm.

How do you prepare to compete when there are no competitions?

In this episode Dr. Wightman discusses the discipline required for elite competitors prepare when there are no competitions scheduled.  Champion coaches and players have told Dr. Wightman that preparing should be more challenging then any competition.  When you practice with purpose you are separating yourself from your competition.  Seattle Seahawks, NFL QB Russell Wilson has been quoted to say, "The separation, is in the preparation!" and yet when he said that I don't believe there was a pandemic influencing where and when you could prepare.

Coach Wightman interviews 65 year old retired forest ranger triathlete Sharie Methven for a mature perspective on what diligence and discipline is required to maintain a training regiment when you are not sure when the next competition will arrive.  At the core of Sharie's motivation is her love for Hawaii and the surroundings she offered to train in.  She also admits that when there is a competition it is rewarding to meet and compete with athletes from all over the world.  Sharie also agrees that preparing and competing on my home turf is a preparation advantage other competitors do not have.  She reminds Dr. Wightman that all oceans and shorelines are not the same, but one thing is true for all discipline is required to become an elite preformer.

What is the difference between Wok and Woke?

What is the difference between Wok and Woke?

Dr. Wightman asks questions about wokeness and the confussion around the word.  Is it Wok, W.O.K. or Woke, and what are the differences?  Coach Wightman references wokeness with examples from the 2022 Winter Olympics, US professional sports, and woke examples in the news in an effort to discover what is relevant and purposeful.

Dr. Wightman challenges to be woke through a heightened sense of awareness, a level of awareness that many do not have and yet claim to be woke.  For example, coaches who allow the press to dog their athletes to emotional break downs are not woke or have a Wealth Of Knowledge on the subject.  So, where do you stand on your definition of wokeness?  Are you social informed and aware to take action where your words may direct you?
