Zander/Lucas | Episode 6

Zander/Lucas | Episode 6

In this last episode, we talk to 12th graders Zander and Lucas who both have a large amount of musical experience and each play a wide array of instruments. Having been in LREI musicals, plays, concerts, and coffee houses, Zander and Lucas bring to the table a unique view on music at LREI, as well as on performing music in general. On top of deepening our discussion on playlist creation, we also explore the contrasts in analyzing the creation and effect of music on the world. All throughout the episode, one important theme is the ways in which people's experiences with music differ, aside from just in genres. Whether you listen to music for nostalgia, for the technical abilities, to get in a certain mood, or just as background music, everyone has their own way of enjoying the organized sound vibrations that some call music. We hope you enjoy this final episode of our podcast and tune in next fall for season 2.

Joan Jubett | Episode 4

In this episode, we meet Joan Jubett, director of the musical and drama teacher at LREI. This episode is incredibly wide-ranging with a focus on dead artists and how that changes the perception of their music (especially through Jeff Buckley) but also goes into other directions. If you need any music recommendations in general, not just from the 80s or 90s, this is a great listen! We hope you enjoy!
