Season IV #95 Ninety Days To Live With Billy Aiton

Season IV #95 Ninety Days To Live With Billy Aiton

A Stoic wants to live well— and living well means dying well, too. A Stoic lives well through having a good character, and death is the final test of it. - Seneca

This very well could be the most meaningful podcast I've ever recorded. My conversation with Billy Aiton, a former client from CrossFit Scottsdale, was more than just a reminder that life is fragile. He shows us, shows me that every second counts.

This is coming from a man who's been given 60 days to live as of the recording of this episode. And as much as I don't want to see a friend leave this life to soon, the reality is he's facing his mortality.

But if you listen closely, you'll hear the will to live in every sentence he speaks. When he talks about his kids and how proud he is of them, you can't help but want to be like him.

To those who know Billy, I pray this episode encapsulates the man you love. I hope it inspires you to hear your dad, husband, brother, and friend speak and be so thankful for you. He loves you.

In my line of work, I get the privilege of meeting so many people who inspire and motivate the world. Billy may very well be at the top of the list.

Billy Aiton, I love you and am grateful I got this distinct opportunity to sit down with a friend and have a conversation far beyond us both. Let's keep Fighting, my brother!

We Love you, Billy…

Season IV #94 Fit Between The Ears with Chris Lalanne

Season IV #94 Fit Between The Ears with Chris Lalanne

The LaLanne last name is not just famous in the fitness world, but everywhere else too if you were around in 1951 to the 80s. We've probably all heard about Jack LaLanne, the health and exercise expert a.k.a the Godfather of fitness. The one member of his family that followed in his footsteps was his nephew, Chris LaLanne.

Chris was always into sports, but chose a different route with his competitive nature. He found success in bodybuilding and helping those he cares about get strong. He got a degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State and became a mastermind in fitness. Then, in 2006, he discovered CrossFit and never looked back.

One of the main things Chris teaches is how to be fit between the ears. He systematically walks his clients through changing their life by how they think. Once that's in motion, physical peace follows. A key ingredient to his program is fasting and letting the body heal. This IS a major part of the definition of being "physically fit."

Chris LaLanne's got an awesome presentation and can help you live your best life. He's been at it for 30 years and knows all the tricks on how to lead yourself. In this episode, let Chris' story help you start taking charge of your life. "Let's get you a custom plan to crush it mentally!"

Season IV #92 Breathe Like A Man With Jake Parent

Season IV #92 Breathe Like A Man With Jake Parent

Jake Parent is the founder of Breath.Energy, yes there's no dot com. He wants you to know you don't have to hold onto the weight of pain you've been holding. He wants you whole. Why? Let's back up for a second...

In his mid 40s and from a distance, he looked reasonably successful. But inside, he felt like he was driving around with the parking brake on. This describes most people listening to this episode now. He felt like he was underperforming at life, knowing it shouldn't be this hard. Something had to change, and something did change, he found his breath. This sent him down a journey to healing himself. If you ask him he'll tell you he's still healing, but that's the joy of the journey.

After being on this path for years, something else happened… Jake had a vision of sixty people doing breath work together, and Breath.Energy was born. Breath.Energy was open for 3-4 months, and every week more and more people were coming. Fast forward some years and they're still walking humanity through the deep work of healing through breath. Jake says, "During breathwork we have encouraged our community to express the deepest most unseen parts of who they are. To say this work has been rewarding is an understatement. I am eternally grateful for the space we hold which allows people to feel, release, and find the joy in their lives. Through breathwork I have found my motto of life. Love is ALWAYS the answer."

Jake wants everyone to experience the freedom so many have felt through this work. He wants YOU to experience what it's like to walk letting go of the weights that have held you back. It starts with a breath.

Season IV #91 The Heartbeat Of Hawaii with Adam Snodgrass

Season IV #91 The Heartbeat Of Hawaii with Adam Snodgrass

Adam Snodgrass of Makaha, Kailua Kona, is a self-proclaimed fishing fool who loves his family and romping around in the sand with his dogs! When you listen in between his words, you'll feel the rich history of Hawaii just by the description of a fish. Even more, you can hear the pain in his voice when talking about what has happened since the August fires. Allow yourself to get caught in the joy he has about the people he serves. But you must allow your heart to be pulled on for the people of Hawaii and specifically the people of Maui... just like Adam.

Season IV #90 Trip Down The Rabbit Hole with Tripp Mehew

Season IV #90 Trip Down The Rabbit Hole with Tripp Mehew

Let's get to it; Tripp Mehew has been on the frontlines of the Maui fire tragedy since it started. As a resident of Hawaii, he holds nothing back regarding the truth about what is going on at the ground level. Isn't he "that" conspiracy theorist? NO, he's literally walking, serving, and helping the people of Maui, as well as exposing what is REALLY going on. He's not regurgitating what someone is saying on the internet or the news, no, he's there WITH the people of Maui.

He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a father, is a former Marine, and a passionate truth seeker. He will dig until he finds it. Today, when you have 1,000 voices and are not sure who to trust Tripp speaks of what he's experienced. He speaks of what he knows, and from a place of logic. Why? Because he cares about the people he's currently serving and wants to get them the help they need.

Tripp says, "Freedom is the ultimate feeling of personal empowerment. It leads to a rich and meaningful life that you are solely responsible for. Self-responsibility and mindful choices can elevate you to living your greatest purpose. We love life! And that is WHY we fight so hard against the tyranny and evil that is trying to destroy it."

Season IV #89 Release 100 Billion F*cks with Yogi Bryan

Season IV #89 Release 100 Billion F*cks with Yogi Bryan

Shortly after starting his yoga journey, Bryan began a consistent meditation practice. He challenged himself to meditate every single day for 90 days, but it's what happened at the end of the 90 days that he found his purpose. He realized the power of the subconscious mind on the outward life we live. Now he helps people reprogram their subconscious minds with love, gratitude and abundance for the outcome they are wanting.

In this space is he loves to make the yoga and spiritual community laugh. He noticed people were very competitive and took their practice so seriously. "It's just f*ckin yoga" he thought. People need to relax and have fun on their yoga and meditation journeys. This perspective inspired him to create a space for the community where they could laugh while they practiced. He helps people just like you find their truth, gain confidence, and release f*cks… all with a smile. He'll do the same for you.

His background: He is a Neuro Linguistic Programmer (NLP), E-RYT 200 Hour Yoga Instructor, and YACEP-Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. His Relax with Yogi Bryan Meditation podcast has been a massive success with over 3 million listens to date. You can find him all of his online content here below...

Season IV #88 Reverse The Curse with Pastor Fidel Pesina Jr.

Season IV #88 Reverse The Curse with Pastor Fidel Pesina Jr.

Life has a way of giving you circumstances out of your control. It's what you do with it that leads you to your destiny. This is the story of Pastor Fidel Pesina Jr. Many look at him and see a successful man who was making 6 figures a year as a contract electrician. Many don't see the sacrifice he's made to do what he feels most called to, being a husband and Father. He later gave up his career to pastor a church, but He was fatherless, and found himself making decisions that led him down a dangerous path. After some "close calls" he found himself surrendering to God. As you listen to his story, see yourself in it. See yourself surrendering to a higher power and see if it doesn't lead you to your calling. God has a way of reaching you. It doesn't take long to see that Fidel is, like you and me, a human. The difference maker for this scrappy pastor is that he will fight for what he believes in. He will fight for his family and his kids, and he will fight to walk out what he believes God has called him to... people.

Season IV #87 Two Mics, One Movement

The first ever "2 Mics 1 Movement" episode is here. Luke sits down with his business partner, friend, and fellow soldier in this fight, Jeff Strange. He says this about Jeff , "Nothing in this world has ever been handed to you." But isn't that the way we want it? Isn't this the kind of leader we need, leaders who fight, scrap, and drive towards winning. Jeff is an example of what we, as men, desire. A Fathers Of The Future Crucible Alum, and a leader in this brotherhood, Jeff trains and leads men to walk free from their past and live their calling. He's what this movement needs and what men are searching for, healing. When you're around Jeff, you know you matter; he pulls this out of you. He wants YOU to live YOUR calling. He knows that he's merely a guide and you're the hero of YOUR story. As Luke and Jeff have a necessary conversation, realize that this is for you. What do you want? And what are you willing to do to get it? 2 Mics 1 Movement is about YOU finding those answers and moving forward. CLEAR!

Season IV #86 Sober A.F with DRU Meskin

Season IV #86 Sober A.F with DRU Meskin

Dru Meskin is a full blown redemption story. Being in a broken home, he found himself on a path of compulsive or regular substance abuse. Being angry at life also added to his pull to sedate with the addiction. This led him to being sent away to a juvenile detention center with everyone thinking it would fix him. It didn't, it made his drug and alcohol habits worse.

But the story doesn't end here. He found himself going through rehab, graduating from college, and fighting for his sobriety while simultaneously starting his own business. In fact, Dru is none other than Luke's stylist. As the owner and operator of First Mane AZ Dru has established himself as a top barber in Arizona.

What's the moral of the story? You'll have to listen and find out... but Dru's proof that hard work and surrender can lead to the life you are searching for. It will be hard, but this is what men do... and Dru's one of them.

Season IV #85 "Short Slabs" with Tyler Short, The Hobby, Hustle, and Hierarchy of Sports Cards and Collectibles

What do you get when you mix a pharmacist, a top Sports Card investor, and a Fathers Of The Crucible alum? You get the one and only Tyler Short. Even though, he's good at his day job, today, we aren't talking medicine. We're talking about how to build a SIX FIGURE income with his side hustle, sports cards. As a content creator on Youtube, his channel helps his followers know the ins and outs of what cards you're buying and selling. While he helps others, he does invest himself and does very well. It's why he's one of the top sellers on Ebay. Tyler would be considered a purist. In other words, he isn't doing this simply to make money; he genuinely loves trading cards and loves being around others who do the same. With all that in mind, he's learned to leverage his passion into making money, and lots of it. Learn from Tyler, even if you don't trade or invest in sports cards. All of us have passions that can be turned into wealth.

When you meet Tyler, you're happy for him. As a man of faith, an athlete, and committed to those around him, you're happy for all the success he has.

Season IV #84 Integrity First with Eric "WHITEY" White

Season IV #84 Integrity First with Eric "WHITEY" White

The A-10 is the first Air Force plane specially designed for close air support of ground forces. You don't sign up to fly an A 10 because you like to fly. They're meant to be a support during combat when soldiers are under fire. It's why A 10 pilots are a gritty community, and rightfully so. It's probably why Eric Whitey White signed up to fly this very plane. In other words, this isn't a man who is passive. You don't go into the Airforce and fly these kinds of planes and not have a heart to serve and a willingness to go into the fight. For him, when you commit you go, regardless of the danger.

He was mentored and fathered by his grandfather, who was also a pilot in the airforce. He started taking Eric flying when he was only 8 years old. So to say Eric wanted to fly was an understatement. It was in his blood. Similarly, the mentality it takes to be a pilot is exactly how he approaches everything, even Yoga.

When posed the question "what's it like having a child on the way at age 50?" his simple response... "THERE IS NO CAN'T, THERE'S JUST DO!"

Season IV #83 “A Happy Kingdom” with John Stewart

Season IV #83 “A Happy Kingdom” with John Stewart

A part owner of Sunfare, the OG of meal prep, John Stewart revolutionized the Custom Meal Prep Industry. In 1997, he and his partner did this off of a piece of carbon paper his receptionist threw in his office's trashcan. It wasn't any ordinary trash in a waste container. Rather, it was the domino that set in motion his life's mission, helping people achieve greatness. On instinct he contacted the number, not knowing they were a powerful Hollywood Executive at the time, and off to the races they went. Yes, some of Sunfare's clients are Hollywood executives, actors, or professional athletes, but that's not the driving force of what they do. It's the everyday mom or dad, the person who's busy and needs help getting their meals ready, that drives their passion to do what they do. It's the person who is trying to reach their health targets. It's you and it's me. From the beginning, John has said, "if Sunfare can put great meals in your refrigerator that you want to eat, then you will eat those meals…and get the results you're looking for."

John's vision and entrepreneurial spirit are essential, and continue to help the company thrive. And some will tell you he's a natural leader who embraces the challenge of business ownership, but it's those around him that say "he makes us laugh." It could be the main ingredient to why Sunfare has been so successful.

As a father of 2, John relishes in the role of father and husband. At every chance he gives his wife credit for their life and promotes her businesses. As a man in his 50's you'll hear the youthfulness in his voice as his kids keep him young. On the other hand, you'll hear the wisdom of a man who's built a life worth living as he delights in building up his family.

Season IV #82 Finding Your Way Home with Gio Diaz

Season IV #82 Finding Your Way Home with Gio Diaz

For the first time ever on the podcast, Coach Luke interviews Gio, who's only 17. As a young child Gio grew up with no father and an absent mother. Often times his mother would be in and out, leaving him and his siblings alone for weeks at a time. It led to them being removed and put into the foster care system.

Gio was put into a home that seemed to be the fit he needed until decisions outside his control led to being removed. It was the first stable family he had up to this point, but it had come to an end. Once again, back in the system, Gio found himself at age 12, finally getting adopted into a permanent home. And in what should've been the most stable time of his life, he found himself becoming angry. This turned external into physical outbursts, taking it out on his family. All of those years, in and out of homes, being in unstable even dangerous environments finally came to a head.

His mom and dad hurt for him. They prayed for him. Fought for his heart. So, along with their home, they put him in spaces where he would be loved, even when it was hard. But this isn't how the story ends. Gio's parents aren't passive, nor are they weak. They started searching, asking God what to do. Among other things, this led to The Crucible.

It's not only an ongoing redemptive tale, but one of perseverance and finding his identity. We'll let Gio finish the story because he tells it better than we can write it. And make no mistake his story is really just beginning.

Season IV #81 CHANNELED ANGER with Malcolm Guya. A Mother's Day Special

Season IV #81 CHANNELED ANGER with Malcolm Guya. A Mother's Day Special

Malcolm Guya, a son, a friend, a savage athlete, big smile, trustworthy, humble, and a leader. If you ask the men around him, this is what they will say. As a child he moved here from Kenya to the US. With no dad in the picture, he was raised by his grandmother for the first few years of his life. But it was his mother who, even though she wasn’t present in those beginning years, had the most influence on his life as he follows after God.

As a college football player, Malcolm learned quickly what it takes to be a man off and on the field. Through his coaches, pastors, and his relationship with God, he learned to channel his anger onto the field and live free from resentment. He also knows what it's like to not allow circumstances to dictate his destiny. After having several breakthrough moments on a weekend retreat for men Malcolm found himself no longer angry, and free from any grudges he carried from childhood.

Malcolm, who recently got married to his wife Talia, will break the generational curse of fatherlessness in his family. With a strong connection to his church family, a belief in who God has made him, he fights hard to help those who grew up like him. Although he's not a father yet, he is setting the pace for what men should be as they head towards fatherhood, present. Malcolm is one of a kind. If you're ever graced with the opportunity to be around him, you'll walk away a better person. That's just who he is... a Father Of The Future.

“YOU DID A TREMENDOUS JOB, thank you because you raised a warrior, a child of God” - Malcolm Guya, speaking of his mother

Season IV Exp # 80 "Respect The Formula" with Marcus Wheaton

Season IV Exp # 80 "Respect The Formula" with Marcus Wheaton

When coaching meets faith, you get a formula that will cause you to win. From training his own sons to the NFL and others to the Olympics, Marcus Wheaton has a way of pulling greatness out of everyone he coaches. As the owner of Wheaton Solutions, the success of his athletes is a bi-product of his dedication to the individual. It's no surprise he's the number one speed coach in Arizona. Even more, when you listen to this episode, he may be the #1 father in Arizona.

To quote him: "Fatherhood is not a noun but an adjective." You have to earn it if you want to be called a real father. As his kids grew up playing sports, Marcus can count on 1 hand at how many games or events he's missed. Even if his job was on the line, he was making sure if one of his kids looked up in the stands he'd be there. He doesn't wear this as a badge of honor; rather, this is how an elite father lives his normal life. It IS how fatherhood should be played out by every dad. This is who you get when being coached by him. And when you're a part of the Wheaton Solution family.

Season IV Exp #79 Your routines and mindsets are OLD. HOW do we practically RISE to become unrecognizable in 12 months with Coach Luke Kayyem

Season IV Exp #79 Your routines and mindsets are OLD. HOW do we practically RISE to become unrecognizable in 12 months with Coach Luke Kayyem

Designing clear actionable outcomes.
Value and importance of Goal Setting and living life by design.
Sharpen the sword
Empower and impact

As we enter another chapter of this epic journey called life, let me be one of the first and only REAL MUTHAFUCKERS alive to welcome you to the reality of the NEW YEAR, it ain't new and neither are you, your old, and so are your stories, skills and habits and they just got a little bit older.

Unless you are willing and welcome CHANGE, break the cycle, shift the pattern, set new and challenging GOALS, be willing to fail forward, pushing your personal edge of complacency and comfort, building resilience in your approach to adapt and overcome you will remain the same.

"How you do one thing, is how you do everything"
Unless you live life by your own design, uncompromisingly, intentionally, declaring with absolute certainty, belief and trust that this can and will BE the greatest and most compelling, unforgettable year of your life.

"Where your ATTENTION goes, ENERGY flows"
Unless you hold yourself accountable, asking others for help, guidance, coaching and teaching along the way. Staying true to yourself, willing to be open, vulnerable, honest and authentic, never trading or losing your integrity or values to appease anyone.

There is no doubt, you will be tested, challenged, beaten down and broken but you must commit to yourself that, I WILL never ever give in or give up!

"If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm."

There is GREATNESS in you, I see it and believe it, it's alive and living, it's growing and expanding, it's right here, right now, simply use this day and small wrinkle in time to affirm and confirm, establishing the VISION you have of your future self.
Constantly asking… What am I made of? And how can I continue to test myself daily.

DEVELOP and DECLARE, a 2023 MISSION STATEMENT, curate and craft your MANIFEST DESTINY, write your own powerfully provoking and poetic self-proclaimed VISION statement for that UNFUCKINGRECOGNIZABLE version of the man you MUST become.

Season IV Exp #78 Impact over income, and SERVE others with Jeff Strange

Season IV Exp #78 Impact over income, and SERVE others with Jeff Strange

Jeff Strange worked as a head of sales at Bad Birdie Golf Apparel, a company featured on The Shark Tank. Jeff was able to use his gift of sales, even more his gift of loving people help the company reach its highest grossing year in 2021. And yet with all the success he’s walked away from it all, walked away from a stable career. Why? Because he believes fully in impact over income. Jeff helps us understand what a grind looks like but also what living free has given him. He helps us understand what living your purpose is supposed to be and it’s serving others.

His philosophy when it comes to being successful, since he was 16, is SERVICE. If you want to make the most out of anything you must serve others. You’ll see this in everything Jeff is a part of, whether you’re hiking up a mountain, running 50 miles, need help setting up chairs, or just need a bro hug Jeff is right there ready to serve. Furthermore he's someone men can follow as he leads a group every Wednesday morning at 5A.M. at his church in an intentional time physical suffering to build mental toughness. And if you ask him why he’s the way he is he’ll tell you without blinking, God. As a father to 2 amazing children and husband he knows his purpose. He knows that if he’s truly making an impact it will be serving his family first and letting that heart spill over into every other area of his life.

  • Why walk away from stability since it’s safe?
  • He talks about the grind of building a business
  • What true success looks like which doesn’t always mean position or title
  • Golf, the sport that led him to his calling, service
  • How does leading himself impact his wife and kids?
  • How has helping men rise to be the men they want to be become his purpose
  • He helps us understand what it really means to have impact over income

Jeff embodies the FOTF mantra which says:

  1. Show Up
  2. Don’t Quit
  3. Do The Work
  4. Lead With Love
  5. Trust The Process

Season IV Exp #77 Could a hard workout and faith community bring you back with Brad Larson

Season IV Exp #77 Could a hard workout and faith community bring you back with Brad Larson

In this episode Luke talks to senior executive pastor Brad Larson. In his local church Brad contends for the hearts of the men who are apart of their Fight Clubs, Wed Workouts, Men's Nights, and Boot Camps under the umbrella of Every Man A Leader. Church isn't a game to him, in fact it's a fight he's been graced to fight, a grace to lead in. He has a deep compassion for men who simply need help but don't know what to do. He walks towards storms a man may be facing. Not because he can fix it but because he knows we can't face it alone. Even more he knows there is only one who can calm the storm within the storm, Jesus.

He has been on a 30 year journey of what it means to become the man God wants him to be. Being a father of 4 and a husband, he knows the price you must pay when you aren't leading yourself and living a surrendered life to God. He also knows the joy of redemption and living in God's Plan A. For Brad following Jesus is the only path to go on to become the man you know you can be.

For to long the "industry" of high performance, self help, and wellness has crushed faith communities, but not here. Brad helps us understand that even through a workout you can see the beauty of God and His creation. Being a high performer isn't a new concept, it's as old as the scriptures. So why not follow the Master of life? After all Jesus is the one who can show us how to live it to the fullest.

  • If you’re not growing you’re not progressing
  • Why do real men let go of their faith and turn back to their pain?
  • How can we get clear on what it means to walk with Jesus?
  • Definitions lead us to destinations, if the definition is wrong it will lead you to the wrong place
  • 307 questions where asked by Jesus, why does this matter?
  • How to reach the heart of men, we have to do something different
  • Why there's gravity to what's happening with the men of his faith community

It’s season 4, which means we are still here, still grinding… as they say, don’t call it a comeback we’ve been here for years! The first trilogy of the season, and or the next 3 episodes Luke talks to 3 men of faith, 3 men who are a part of a faith community, and 3 men who aren’t shy about what they believe yet at the same time realize we are all on a journey.

In Exp #76 Luke has a conversation with Wes Edwards, Executive Pastor at a local church in Scottsdale AZ. As an adult he’s served in his faith communities for over 25 years and has had to face his own times of doubt. The irony though, doubt led him to be more in tune with what he believes about God, who Jesus is, and why he’s still at it after all these years. Luke specifically asks Wes what he’d say to a skeptic or someone who has deconstructed their faith. Tune in to find out.

As a proud father to 3 adopted boys from Haiti Wes helps us understand that it takes grit to remain sane in todays racially divided communities. Adoption isn’t for the faint at heart nor is having a mixed family, but with determination, calling, and an anchor to our faith we can step into hard things and find the joy of fighting for the hearts of our kids. There are so many children who need more than a good home, they need fathers, fathers who will rise up and say yes, I’ll be their dad, I’ll call them my own.

  • How can you regain your faith if you’ve walked away from it?
  • How would you invite someone into your community when it’s faith based?
  • You don’t have to lay your intellect down to believe in God
  • Adoption
  • Bi-racial families in todays society
  • Best advice to potentially adoptive parents
  • Write your family motto
  • The Edwards Motto, We’re kind, we’re encouraging, and we talk to lonely people

Season III Exp #68: The MASTER'S Key with Josh Middagh

Season III Exp #68: The MASTER'S Key with Josh Middagh

In this week's Father’s of the Future Experience, I am joined by my good friend Josh Middagh.  Josh shares with us that he never wanted to be a father, he thought he was too selfish to give what a child needs.  It wasn’t until his own father passed away unexpectedly that Josh began to look at things differently.  Josh went through a period of depression and wondered what was the point to life.  Two years after his loss he would visit a therapist that would encourage him to start writing about his feelings.  Josh shared what he wrote with his wife and she was in tears.  Josh’s wife told him he not only needed to keep writing but that he needed to write a book.  Josh decided to use the writing experience to reclaim his purpose in life. Knowing a lot of men struggle with grief and feelings Josh wanted to give them the tools to navigate those feelings.  He’s a firm believer that when you don’t have something to pour into you don’t have purpose.  Not only did Josh reclaim his purpose with writing he decided he was ready to be a father.  In adopting his daughter he had another person to pour into all that his dad had poured into him.

In this podcast experience we’ll touch on things like…

  • Dealing with feelings of grief
  • Journaling as a form of healing
  • How the purpose of life is love
  • Putting your actions where your faith is
  • How God doesn’t want our pain to be in vain
  • Josh’s book The Master’s Key

Season III Exp #67: Biohacking with Jorge Aragon

Season III Exp #67: Biohacking with Jorge Aragon

In this week’s Fathers of the Future Experience, I am joined by a true father of the future expecting his first child in September. My friend Jorge Aragon entered my life eight years ago when we met at a fitness competition. I was intrigued by Jorge’s determination and have witnessed him tackle everything he’s set out to do.

Unfortunately, last year Jorge had a major knee injury that resulted in a massive reconstruction surgery. After an initial low period, Jorge decided to turn to his biohacking knowledge to begin to heal. For anyone that’s unfamiliar with what biohacking is, BulletProof Coffee’s Dave Asprey defines it as “the art and science of changing the environment around you and inside you so that you have full control over your own biology.” When Jorge was at a standstill externally, he started working on the internal first. With biohacks such as breathing exercises he was able to overcome his anxiety of not being able to move like he used to.

Through Biohacking, Jorge has slowly but surely come back stronger than ever. He’s a firm believer that our bodies need to perform at the highest possible level for our brains to perform at the same level. Just last week, he and I ran down the Grand Canyon in under 2 hours, which was a true test of how far he has come. Now Jorge is eager to bring biohacking to the masses and help others to alleviate their pain and become the best version of themselves.

During this podcast experience we’ll discuss things like…

  • What biohacking is and how it can aid in healing
  • Biohacks such as breathing, yoga, EMF, red light therapy, and cryotherapy
  • The importance of changing your environment both internally and externally
  • Western medicine vs eastern philosophy
  • Flexibility along with stability
  • Having a growth mentality and mindset

Season III Exp #66 The Three Phases Of Fatherhood with Prince

Season III Exp #66 The Three Phases Of Fatherhood with Prince

In this week’s Fathers of the Future Experience, I am joined by my favorite barber Prince. We all have people that guide us and Prince has been a guiding light since the day he gave me my first faux hawk with words of wisdom from behind the barber's chair.

A decade later, he’s still one of the greatest men I know, assisting me in my growth as a man and a father. Prince shares the lessons he’s learned from his father, and the lessons he’s learned as a father. Prince says parenting can be broken down into three key phases; from ages 0-5 you have to teach your child everything from how to eat to how to walk and talk, from ages 6-12 you’re tweaking everything you’ve taught them, and from 13-18 you have to stop teaching and start guiding.

With his son in his junior year of college, Prince has had to take a step back and let his son learn from the example he has provided. Prince has talked to his son about his goals, his journey, and his path. At times Prince has had to redirect his son, but now he finds himself on autopilot, no longer teaching but simply guiding.  As Prince says, if you win, you win, if you don’t win, you learn.

During this podcast experience, we’ll touch on things like…

  • The 30-60-90 rule
  • The different times we’re living in
  • Who suffers when you’re not honest
  • Letting go of expectations
  • The three phases of raising kids
  • Inspiring people on a daily basis
  • Showing up as a father.

SEASON II Exp 60 Scar Tissue With Greg Pugh

SEASON II Exp 60 Scar Tissue With Greg Pugh

For an outdoor episode of Fathers of the Future at South California, Luke catches up with a tattoo artist, Greg Pugh, his mutual friend from one of the fathers featured in the past podcast episode. Amidst an uptight, frightening, and stressful pandemic, Greg entails how he shifts away from a “shit” routine to manage his time as a father, husband, and an upward spiral of success as a tattoo artist.

The typical description of everyone’s lifestyle during the pandemic is either boring, dull, or repetitive, but this does not apply to Greg. As a father, Greg describes his life as a “rollercoaster” because of various adjustments he had to make. Greg and his family had to deal with shutting down protocols, not being able to go out, and other shifting routines that the pandemic caused in his life.

What Were The Shifts In His Routine During Pandemic?

On a busy day of a father and laborer like Greg, there would be a power hour, usually a morning mindset activation routine, for week one to battle against the industry of late-night workers. However, now that there’s COVID, Greg now wakes up late with his daughter and merely sits around being unproductive.

Not until he realized one day that he had to change this stagnant routine as it is nothing beneficial to him anymore. Greg now wakes up early in the morning, gets dressed, does fifty push-ups, writes journal entries on his two journals, and reads a minimum of ten pages of a book, giving him a purpose every day to keep himself away from stagnation.

How Does He Want To Be Remembered?

Greg carries on multiple roles in his life, but he only wants to be remembered as a person who “truly cares about everyone I come in contact with” as he genuinely loves people. Even though it sounds feminine, Greg wants his family to know that he loves them more than anything in the world, and he is happy as he put himself in a comfortable place to be a better guy.

SEASON II Exp 59 Lets Roll With Craig Liguori

SEASON II Exp 59 Lets Roll With Craig Liguori

The event on September 11, 2001, also known as the “9/11” brought the brave men, such as the military armed forces, firefighters, and police officers, out of their comfort zones to fight terrorist attacks and bombings. Learn about how such events gave wisdom to them and how they give back to the country by paying it forward to their fellowmen. This series aims to inspire many and to give tribute to these brave men.

One of these brave men is Craig Legory, a US veteran who served in the navy. He shared his experience during 9/11. He was destined in Okinawa, Japan, wherein a typhoon was coming through. Checking up the television, they knew about the chaos happening in the World Trade Center. They had a dynamic evening from typhoon readiness to imminent attack readiness.

How Is He After 9/11?

The transition after the 9/11 event may be traumatic for many, but for Craig, it was unique because it gave them brand new and upgraded gears. He continued his service in the US Navy, going through training exercises and jumping from destination to destination.

Currently, he is a single father who faces the challenge of juggling work, doing household chores and supporting his children in their endeavors. In this challenging time, he gives importance to communication and schedule, remaining focused on the things he does.

What Are The Lessons He Wants To Leave To His Children?

His military experience made him the man he is now, which made him grateful as it tested his abilities, made him better, and kept him humble. The way to pay it forward is to teach his children the lessons that will help them in life.

According to Craig, they should make every day better than yesterday. The actions they take today shape the future they are going to have tomorrow. He reminded them to take responsibility for their actions; hence, they should maximize everything. Lastly, they should listen to others’ opinions, but they should be the ones to make the ultimate decision.
