A former journalist with Gannet Newspapers and entrepreneur, Sherita developed a passion for helping others navigate personal and professional transformation. She facilitates ongoing business and image development workshops through Carthon Consulting Group. Workshops include: “How to Market Your Brand the Right Way,” and “The Celebrity Sales Method.” She is currently working on an innovative trade show called "Beyond The Algorithm | Power Brand Conference & Expo, which helps entrepreneurs and start-ups leverage capital for their businesses, and also showcases the latest brand and algorithm tech advances for 2023/24.

In March, 2022, The Lydia Leader Project Launched Dear Lydia: Soulful Sunday Conversations, a twice-monthly show on Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn where women from all walks of life talk about all things Faith, Family, Finance, Freedom and Following. Our first guest was Dr. Lisa McGuthry, CEO of Our Favorite Things Boutique and Event Center, and Signature Events Center and Catering. Dr. Lisa has a lifetime of experience in terms of leadership, entrepreneurship and community relations. Dr. Lisa shared what it's like to be a woman who wears many hats, including Boutique Boss, Wife, Mother, YaYa, and others.

This episode is dedicated in loving memory of one of my best friends, Bobbylou Edna Kelley - 10/29/1949 - 1/15/2022. She was definitely a Lydia, a Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 woman. She was someone who emulated the Godly characteristics of true friendship and sisterhood. May my beautiful friend and sister continue to rest in heaven.

The path to spiritual and professional maturity can yield massive rewards externally and internally. Whenever we start a new year, new expectations, goals and objectives are established.

This episode of The Lydia Leader Project will focus on the glow up - what it means and why one will need to grow up to fully experience it. I’ll give some practical tips on how to fully experience your own glow up. This can be an amazing year if we are willing to put in the work necessary to grow, glow and blow up.

The word for 2022 is Freedom. In order for you to thrive and go to the next level, you must be free - from everything and everyone who's kept you and your passions in bondage. The latest episode will give you nuggets on how to become free, releasing the shackles that hold you in bondage, and how important it will be for you to let go of people, places, things and habits that have prohibited you from being free. Clear your mind and spirit of all fears, guilt from past mistakes and disappointments, trauma and hurts, and commit to allowing freedom to prevail in your life in 2022 and beyond.

In light of recent events over the last several days regarding the release of Bill Cosby from prison as he was serving a 3-10 year sentence for sexual assault and rape, there have been comments on both sides either agreeing or disagreeing with his release. The comments have been disparaging and disheartening to read, especially when it comes to blaming and shaming the victims. It is important as women that we learn how to come together and exercise support, empathy and sensitivity to each other, even if there may be a difference of opinion.

This episode is a special one that deviates briefly from our normal platform and subject matter. The views and opinions shared are personal.
