This film was directed and co written Matt Reeves and sees Andy Serkis return as “Caesar” and is joined by Woody Harrelson and Steve Zahn. This is a sequel to the 2014 previous film and is the 9th film overall in the franchise. In this film, a group of human military men are on the hunt for the ape known as Caesar, who has gone into hiding after all war has broken out amongst the remaining humans. Their leader is a cold blooded man known only as “The Colonel” who stop at nothing to kill Caesar and anyone who stands in his way, human or ape. Although this film did not do the same box office numbers as the previous film, it still critically acclaimed and nominated for Best Visual Effects & Best Special Effects at both the Academy Awards and the British Academy Awards.

This film is the sequel to the 2011 previous film, the second film in the reboot series and the 8th film overall in the franchise. The film is directed by Matt Reeves and sees Andy Serkis return from the previous film as the ape, Caesar. Joining him is a slew of a cast which include Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and Gary Oldman. In the motion capture cast we see Toby Kebbell also return and is joined by Judy Greer, Terry Notary & Karin Konoval. In this film, after the events of the previous film, the drug used to experiment on Caesar, has caused a worldwide pandemic in which more apes have evolved just like Caesar but have a deadly effect on humans which causes conflict between the two. This film was the highest grossing film of the franchise and the 8th highest of the year and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

This franchise’s reboot began with this film that was directed by Rupert Wyatt and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow & Andy Serkis. In this film, a chemist is experimenting with a new synthetic viral drug in order to cure Alzheimer’s. To test the cure, they use a small chimpanzee which proves to be highly successful. However, the chimp’s intellect grows at rapid pace that proves to be unstable and makes him a target by the government. This film is the first in the reboot series but the 7th film overall following the original 5 film from 1968 - 1973 as well as Tim Burton’s remake in 2001.

This sports drama was directed by Luca Guadagnino and stars Zendaya, Mike Faist & Josh O’Connor. In this film, 2 long time friends and tennis players fall for the same girl who also happens to be a tennis prodigy, but things take a dark turn as each of them realize she has bigger goals and ambitions that don’t pertain to relationships or family. This movie was originally supposed to come out in September of 2023 but due to the SAG-AFTA Strike it was pushed back to April of 2024.

The WWE’s premium live event was held Lyons, France. This was the WWE first event held in France and the first time Backlash was held outside of North America. The event featured 5 matches, 4 of which were championship matches. The team of Randy Orton & Kevin Owens took on The Bloodline’s Solo Sokia & Tama Tonga, Bayley defends the WWE Women’s title in a triple threat match against Naomi & Tiffany Stratton, The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka & Kairi Sane defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles against the team of Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill, Damien Priest defends the World Heavyweight Championship against “Main Event” Jey Uso and I. The main event, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has his first title defense against “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

This film was written and directed by Alex Garland and produced by A24. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeney, Stephen McKinely Henderson & Nick Offerman. In this film, a group of journalists are making their way through a modern day Civil War from New York to Washington DC, with deadly forces from both the US military and local militias tracking their moves and the enemy. This film was released in March 2024 at the South By Southwest Film Festival before its national theatrical release in April.

This spinoff series is set between the 2nd and upcoming 3rd “Sonic The Hedgehog” movies. Idris Elba returns to voice the titular character and is joined by live action characters from the movies such Adam Polly & Tika Sumpter and are joined by newcomers Stockard Channing, Elle Taylor, Kid Cudi, Christopher Lloyd, Rory McCann & Cary Elwes. This 6 episode series is available now on Paramount+.

This horror film was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olson and stars Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand, Giancarlo Esposito & Alisha Weir. In this film, a group of kidnappers have taken a young hostage inside her mansion where they wait further instructions. However, they soon realize this young girl may not be so innocent as they think. This film also stars Angus Cloud in his final film before his untimely death at the age of 25 in July of 2023. The film was dedicated to him by the studio.

This Sci-Fi thriller was released in the summer of 2023 at the Tribeca Film Festival and then hit theaters nationwide in January of 2024. The film is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and stars Ariana DeBose, Chris Messina & John Gallagher Jr. In this film, 6 scientists are up in the International Space Station, 3 from the US & 3 from Russia, working together but their relationship is shattered when they learn that on Earth, Russia has launched a nuclear attack on the US.

This second film in this franchise is a direct sequel to its 2021 predecessor and sees Denis Villeneuve return as co writer and director. The cast sees Timothy Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Javier Bardem & Dave Bautista return and being joined by newcomers, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh & Christopher Walken. In this film, following the events of the previous film, after his home is destroyed, a young man who is destined to be the new leader joins forces with these desert dwellers to take down those responsible for the family and people’s deaths. This film hit theaters on March 1, 2024.

This new series is based on the video game series of the same name and was released earlier this week on Amazon Prime Video. The show stars Ella Purnell Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moises Arias & Walter Goggins. In this series, a young girl who was born and raised in an underground nuclear bunker, leaves to bunker for the surface to find her kidnapped father and meets some very usual characters along the way. This is an 8 episode series and is available now on Amazon Prime Video.

This film was co written and directed by Paul King, is based on the 1962 novel, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl and is the 3 film to center around the character of “Willy Wonka” following the 1971 film and its 2005 remake. The film stars Timothy Chalamet, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key & Hugh Grant. In this film, a young man moves to a popular city to sell chocolate and star his own factory but when a mysterious cartel seeks to steal his ideas , he must find a way to protect himself and his newfound friends. This film hit theaters in December of 2023 before landing on Max in March of 2024.

After the success of the initial season, Max would produce another an episode in which an interview with those involved in the documentary such as Drake Bell, Giovanni Samuels, Bryan Hearne & Shane Lyons. They are interviewed by Soledad O’Brien.

The biggest event in world of professional wrestling and sports entertainment comes to us live from Lincoln Financial Center in Philadelphia for this 2 night special. Night 1 featured the Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley defending her title against “The Man” Becky Lynch, a 6 team ladder match for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships as the Judgement Day’s Fin Balor & Damien Priest take on The New Day, DIY, The Awesome Truth, The New Catch Republic and the team of Grayson Waller & Austin Theory. The Ring General, Gunther, put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Sami Zayn, brothers collide against each other as Jey USO takes on his brother and formal tag team partner Jimmy USO. Damage Control’s Dakota Kai and the Kabooki Warriors, Asuka & Kari Sane take on the team of Bianca Belair, Naomi & Jade Cargill. Then in Night 1’s main event, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes teams with the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins to take on the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns and The Rock. Night 2 had its own card which featured “The Mega Star” LA Knight taking on “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles, Iyo Sky defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Bayley, Logan Paul puts the US Championship on the line against “The Viper” Randy Orton & “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens. “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley teams with The Street Profits, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins to take The Final Testament in a 6 man tag team street fight. The World Heavyweight Championship is up for grabs as Seth Rollins takes on Drew McIntyre. The war comes to an end as the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is on the line as “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns defends against “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in the final chapter of their historic rivalry.

This film was based on the 1992 novel of the same name, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and stars Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo & Willem Dafoe. In this film, a young girl with a very rare brain condition goes out on an adventure despite her caretaker’s warning but things take a dark turn when her memories flood back of a tragic event. This film was released in theaters in December of 2023 and hit Hulu in February of 2024. Emma Stone won the Academy Award & the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her performance.

This horror rom com was directed by Zelda Williams in her directorial debut and stars Kathryn Newton & Cole Sprouse. In this film, set in the late 1980s, a misunderstood teenage girl befriends a reanimated corpse from the 1800s who has returned to life after unknowingly wished upon but things take a dark turn while trying to keep this situation a secret. This film theaters in February of 2024 before landing on Peacock in late March of the same year.

The 5th film in Legacy’s “MonsterVerse” and is a direct sequel to 2021’s “Godzilla VS. Kong”. The film sees Rebecca Hall, Bryan Tyree Henry & Kaylee Hottle return from the previous film and are joined by Dan Stevens, Alex Ferns & Rachel House. In this film, Kong remains in Hollow Earth as King while Godzilla keeps to himself in Rome as Earth’s protector but the 2 titans are called to action when a new threat emerges and seeks to wipe both dimensions out and unleash a new empire. This film marks the 38th in the “Godzilla” franchise and the 13th in the “King Kong” franchise.

Jason Reitman co writes and produces this sequel to the previous 2021 film. It serves as the 4th film in this series but 5th film overall. The film sees Paul Rudd, McKena Grace, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard & Celeste O’Connor return from the previous film as well as Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson & Annie Potts return from the original film. They are also joined by newcomers, Kumail Nanjinai, Patton Oswald & Emily Alyn Lind. ln this film, an ancient threat arrises when bad intentions for the people of New York and the Ghostuster clearly can’t allow him to succeed. This film marks the 40 year anniversary of the release of the original and was dedicated to Ivan Reitman, the original film’s director.

This documentary is an in depth look in to the popular kids TV shows of the 90s and 2000s at Nickelodeon. Told from the cast and crew of hit shows that include “All That”, “The Amanda Show”, “Drake & Josh”, “iCarly” & “Sam & Cat”, this documentary takes an unexpected turn into a world of heartbreak & tragedy that will forever taint our beloved nostalgic childhood.

The 4th installment in this franchise sees Jack Black returning to the titular character and is joined by newcomers Awkwafina, Ke Huy Quan, Ronnie Cheng & Viola Davis. Familiar voices return as well including Dustin Hoffman, Bryan Cranston & James Hong. In this film, Po must join forces with a criminal Fox to stop a nefarious crime boss known as The Chameleon, who seeks to steal everyone Chi and uses it to conquer the world. This film hit theaters in March of 2024 and is already in talks of another sequel from Dreamworks.

This Netflix original film was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillio and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Roberson & Angela Bassett. In this film, after a young girl is forced into a marriage with a prince, she is horrified to discover that she is a sacrifice to a sacred dragon and must venture out of its cave before she is discovered. This film hit the streaming service in March of 2024 after the 2023 SAG Strike delayed its initial release of October 2023.

This 4 part series takes a deep dive into the biggest event of professional wrestling and sports entertainment. Part 1 goes through the inaugural episode that debut in 1985 all the way to its 10 iteration which both venues were held in at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. It features some of the biggest names in wrestling of the late 80s and the early 90s such as Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Andre The Giant, The Ultimate Warrior & “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

The third film in this series sees Jack Black returns as the titular character along with the great voice over cast that include Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogan, Lucy Liu & David Gross. Newcomers include Bryan Cranston, Kate Hudson & JK Simmons. In this film, Po and the Fearsome 5 must stop a villain from their former master’s past who sets out reclaim the Jade Palace of China and wipeout their dojo. While the film was the second highest grossing animated film of that year, it was also the lowest grossing film in the franchise thus far.

This raunchy comedy was directed by Peter Farrelly and stars Zac Efron, John Cena, Andrew Santino, Jermaine Fowler, Jeff Ross & William H. Macy. In this film, 3 childhood friends make up a fake friend to avoid getting in trouble over the years but after 25 years it becomes more difficult to keep the lying. Therefore, a plan is hatch to hire actor to play the fake friend and that’s where things take a surreal turn. This film was originally supposed to star James Franco & Jim Carrey in the main roles but after 10 years in development hell the film was purchased by Amazon Prime and reworked and then hit the streaming service in March of 2024.

The Oscars have been announced and here are some of the winners. “Oppenheimer” takes home a grand total of 6 awards. Best Picture, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy & Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. This was the first win for all 3 filmmakers. Emma Stone won Best Actress for her role in “Poor Things”. This was her second win following her performance in 2016’s “La La Land”. Da’Vine Joy Randolph won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “The Holdovers” Other winners include “The Boy and The Heron” winning Best Animated Feature Film, Billie Eilish winning her second consecutive Oscar for Best Original Song and many more.

This second film in this series sees a new director in Jennifer Yuh Nelson in her directorial debut but also sees a majority of the cast return including Jack Black, Angelina Jolie & Dustin Hoffman, among others. Newcomers include Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Dennis Haysbert, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Victor Garber & Danny McBride. In this film, a vengeful peacock looks to wipeout all of China with a new weapon system and it’s up to The Dragon Warrior and the Furious 5 to stop him at all cost. This film was the highest grossing animated film of the year and saw more Golden Globe & Academy Award nominations.

Our first in the 12th season is look at the 2023 slasher horror film that was directed by Eli Roth and stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Rick Hoffman & Gina Gershon. In this film, a killer dressed as “John Carver” stalks a small town Massachusetts after a “Black Friday” goes horribly wrong. This film hit theaters in November of 2023 before landing on Netflix in February of 2024.

Our season 11 finale sees revisit this animated classic from Dreamworks that has a stacked voice over cast that include Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Ian McShane, James Wong, Seth Rogan, Lucy Liu, David Gross, Michael Clarke Duncan & Jackie Chan. This was the first film in the “Panda” franchise. In this film, a Panda is selected to be the new protector of a Chinese village that is being threatened by vengeful leopard who is out for revenge. This film was nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Animated Film at that year’s awards ceremony.

Prime Video released this new series on its streaming service in February of 2024 and sees Donald Glover & Maya Erksine in the lead roles. This is series is a remake of the 1996 series of the same name as well as the 2005 action film that starred Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie.

This Sci - Fi drama was directed Johan Renck and is based on the 2017 novel, “Spaceman of Bohemia” by Jaroslav Kalfař. The movie stars Adam Sandler & Carey Mulligan. Paul Dino serves as voice over for the character of Hanus. In this film, a Czech astronaut is sent to deep space for science mission that suddenly takes an unexpected turn when he is visited by a spider like creature from an unknown planet. This film marks the 11th that Adam Sandler has starred in that was made exclusively for Netflix. Sandler has been working exclusively with Netflix since 2015 when they released the service’s first original film, “The Ridiculous 6”.

This action comedy was directed by Matthew Vaughn and has a star studded cast which includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Catherine O’Hera, Dua Lipa, Sofia Boutella, Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, Bryan Cranston & Henry Cavill. In this film, an author has her turned up side down when the stories of her books come to life. Despite the film’s abysmal box office success, Matthew Vaughn has stated that this film is the first in a new trilogy which hopes to bring to the big screen in the future.

The third and supposedly final film in this series sees Antoine Fuqua return as director as well as Denzel Washington as the title character for another adventure for Robert McCall. Joining the cast is Dakota Fanning, Eugenio Mastrandrea & David Denman. In this film, McCall is enjoying his new life in Sicily but when the group known as Camorra begin to intimidate and disrupt the locals, he must level the playing field once again. This film marks the 2nd time that Denzel and Dakota have starred together 19 years after their first film, 2004’s “Man on Fire”. While no official has made yet, Fuqua has expressed interest in a fourth film but a prequel centering on the origin of Robert McCall.

The last Premium Live Event before Wrestlemania came to us live from Perth, Australia. The matches included The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka & Kairi Sane, defending the Women’s Tag Team Championships against the team of Candace LeRae & Indie Hartwell, the Judgement Day’s Finn Balor & Damien Priest defend their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate. Then in the 2 Elimination Chamber matches, Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Raquel Rodriguez, Naomi & Tiffany Stratton to secure her spot at Wrestlemania as the Number One Contender for the Women’s World Championship. In the men’s match, “The Scottish Warrior”, Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton, Logan Paul, Kevin Owens, LA Knight & Bobby Lashley to become the Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Then, in the main event, Australia’s own Rhea Ripley puts her Women’s World Championship on the line against “The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax.

Christopher Nolan writes, directs and produces this thriller of a biopic that is based on the 2005 novel, “American Prometheus” by Kai Bird & Martin J. Sherwin. The film has a stacked cast that include Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Kenneth Branagh, Casey Afleck, Rami Malek, Josh Harnett & Gary Oldman. In this film, Oppenheimer is chosen to lead the “Manhattan Project” in 1942 during WWII, which results in the creation of the first Hydrogen Bomb but the outcome of this project doesn’t have the effect on the world that Oppenheimer had imagined. This film exceeded all expectations as it became the 3rd highest grossing movie of 2023 and received 13 Academy Awards nominations including Best Picture. This will be the second film for Nolan that earned a Best Director nomination after 2017’s “Dunkirk” and the 4th film he directed that was nominated for Best Picture.

Antoine Fuqua returns to direct this sequel to his 2014 first film. Also returning is Denzel Washington, who once again plays Robert McCall, a former CIA agent who is now retired but still helps out those who need it. The only characters from the first to reruns and join Denzel are Melissa Leo & Bull Pullman. Newcomers include Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders & Orson Bean. In this film, after a close friend of McCall is murdered, he must once again return to his “job” and solve his friend’s murder and goes after the killer in his own way. This film marks the 3rd film that bought Fuqua & Washington together after the previous film, 2001’s “Training Day” & the 2017 remake of “The Magnificent Seven”. Sadly, this would mark the last film for Orson Beam before his untimely death in 2020.

This biopic was co-written & directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the titular character along with Lashana Lynch & James Norton. This film follows the life and career of reggae singer and songwriter, Bob Marley, from rise in popularity in the late 1970s to untimely death in 1981. Bob’s oldest son, Ziggy and wife Rita both serve as a producers on the film.

This film was directed by SJ Clarkson and stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabel Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts & Adam Scott. This is the 4th film in Sony’s “Spider-Man Universe” following last year’s “Morbious” and the 2 “Venom” films starring Tom Hardy. In this film, after an accident that nearly killed an EMT, Cassie Web discovers that she now has the ability to sees into the future. Her powers are put to the test after 3 teenage girls become targets for a madman with powers of his own. This film was based on the Marvel Comic of the same name. In the 90s animated “Spider Man” show, the character was voiced by Joan Lee, the wife of Spider Man & Marvel Comics creator, Stan Lee.

The first film in this trilogy was directed by Antoine Fuqua and is loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name. The film stars Denzel Washington as the titular character alongside Marton Csokas, Chloe Grace Moretz, David Harbour, Melissa Leo & Bill Pullman. In this film, a retired CIA operative helps a young girl from the Russian mob and sets off a chain reaction into the world of police corruption & human trafficking. This the second film that had Fuqua directing and Denzel starring after their successful & award winning film, “Training Day” in 2001.

This Netflix rom-com hit just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend and is directed by Trish Sie and stars Gina Rodriguez, Damon Wayans Jr., Tom Ellis, Liza Koshy, Joel Courtney & Augustus Prew. In this film, a group of college friends spend their time romancing the Bronx, NY with their dating tips and hook ups but things take an interesting turn when one of them wants something more serious. This film hit Netflix on Valentine’s Day 2024 and is the second original film to star Gina Rodriguez following 2019’s “Someone Great”.

Ari Aster writes and directs this dark comedy starring Joaquin Phoenix, Nathan Lane, Pattie LuPone & Richard Kind. In this movie, we follow a seemingly harmless man who begin a journey in to the unknown both physically and mentally following a falling out with his abusive mother. This film hit theaters in April of 2023 and despite it being a box office bomb, the critics seem to love it after Joaquin Phoenix was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance.

The Super Bowl was live from Las Vegas, Nevada and saw the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the San Francisco 49ers. Can Patrick Mahomes & the Chiefs win back to back titles or will the 49ers avenge their 2019 defeat ?
