Death Penalty: Carlos Deluna (Part II)

Death Penalty: Carlos Deluna (Part II)

Here is Part II of the wrongful conviction of Carlos Deluna that led to an innocent life lost. The supposed "phantom", i.e. Carlos Hernandez was known around town as a dangerous man and was feared by his peers. Did the police and prosecutors know about this so called "phantom" but hid it under the rug just to convict someone of the horrific murder of Wanda Lopez? Listen to this week's episode to find out!

Death Penalty: Carlos Deluna (Part I)

Death Penalty: Carlos Deluna (Part I)

Carlos Deluna was convicted of murdering 26-year-old, single mother, Wanda Lopez. He swore he was innocent, and that Carlos Hernandez was the true murderer. This so-called "phantom" was nowhere to be found. 14 years after Carlos was put to death by lethal injection, an investigation was published by Columbia Human Rights Law Review and suggested Carlos was telling the truth. Hernandez was a similar looking man who had done similar crimes with the same weapon used in the murder of Wanda Lopez. He had also told at least 5 people he was getting away with murder and that someone else was taking the blame.

Easter Sunday Massacre

Easter Sunday Massacre

The Easter Sunday Massacre occurred on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1975, when James Urban Ruppert fatally shot eleven of his own family members in his mother's house at 635 Minor Avenue in Hamilton, Ohio. Ruppert was tried and found guilty on two counts of aggravated murder, but not guilty on the other nine counts by reason of insanity.

The Yogurt Shop Murders

The Yogurt Shop Murders

30 years after the horrific murders of Eliza Thomas, Amy Aryes, Jennifer and Sarah Harbison, the case remains unsolved. On December 6th, 1991, a couple who left the "I Can't Believe It's Yogurt" shop before 11 PM, reported seeing two strange men sitting at a table suspiciously. A group of men were indicted, tried, and found guilty of the murders. But after taking a closer look at what went on during their interrogation, they were later emancipated.

Leonarda Cianciulli "The Soap-Maker of Correggio"

Leonarda Cianciulli "The Soap-Maker of Correggio"

Leonarda Ciancciulli was one of Italy's most notorious serial killers and quite an advanced one for her time. She would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for one eye-witness. Take me along for the ride and listen to one of the most bizarre murders of the 1900's.
