The Beautification of Communication: The "Communification Podcast" Trailer

This is a trailer for the soon to be launched "Communification Podcast." Communification is a slang term that describes the beautification of communication. Some have also referred to communification as the unification of community. Both definitions are in line with the purpose of this podcast. To create community through the sharing of authentic stories, while also learning and growing through listening to specialists speaking on their areas of study and expertise. Each episode is comprised of an interview with an expert on a particular communication topic. The expert identifies the problem and potential solutions and research-based strategies for dealing with this issue. Then, a guest joins me to apply the lessons we learn, and talk candidly about our struggles, triumphs, and experiences.

The "Communification Podcast" is hosted by Malika Dudley. She is a former Miss Hawaii, and current meteorologist, journalist, wife, mom, and communication scholar. This podcast is her “thesis baby”. After a huge shift in career from elementary school French teacher to weather anchor, she put her Masters degree on pause while she pursued a meteorology certification. Fifteen years later, the communication topics that first intrigued her in her late teens are more relevant than ever.

“Life has taught me that no matter what you achieve, success means nothing if you don’t have the tools to communicate to the best of your ability with the people you love and care about most.”

This podcast was developed as her thesis project for the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Hundreds of hours have gone into its development, based in scientific research, and featuring the best social scientists and specialists in Hawaii and beyond.
