Maniphesto was started as a partnership with Alexander Bard and myself in 2016. After some years, we grew to a state where I realised there were unreconcilable differences in our vision and values, meaning that working together was impossible, leading to us parting ways in 2022. It's no secret that our differences stem from my conversion to Orthodox Christianity. Especially when I saw that so many men were struggling with extreme confusion about their sexuality and attempted to find a pragmatic framework to address some of the worst problems, then we saw how far apart we were. Since then we have had one conversation - a panel debate in Berlin on the subject of marriage. The Virgin is perhaps one of the most central archetypes in the development of our society, western civilisation, and all of Christendom. And yet we have lost touch with it. Having grown up protestant, so virginity was something that my parents thought that I should maintain, but not exactly popular amongst my school friends. Having become Orthodox, I can see the incredible value and honour given to purity, chastity, and of course also to the Theotokos, the Mother of God, and also the importance that she is EVER Virgin. I am still trying to understand this, and so it was really useful for me when Maximillian Ravn came and joined our Core fellowship. A student of Theology in Denmark, but more importantly has personally experienced the power of the Virgin, rather than just studying ideas about her. I got a lot of value from our last conversation and then asked him to tell his story. It was an even more powerful story than I expected.

Fr Josiah starts in a surprising place to illustrate how far off we have gone form the path given the role of feminism, looking at shoulder pads in women's suits. In this week's Maniphesto Core Leadership Meeting, we had a fascinating conversation about the meeting point between therapy and men's work. As a group, we explored the different approaches and philosophies of these two distinct practices and discussed how they can complement each other in supporting men's emotional and psychological well-being. Men's work is a term used to describe a variety of approaches and practices that aim to support men in developing greater self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth. This can involve group workshops, retreats, coaching, and mentorship programs. On the other hand, therapy is a more traditional approach to mental health, focusing on identifying and addressing emotional and psychological issues through one-on-one sessions with a trained therapist. During our conversation, we explored the benefits of both men's work and therapy, and how they can work together to create a holistic approach to men's mental health. For example, men's work can provide a supportive community and sense of belonging, while therapy can offer a safe space to explore and work through deeper emotional issues. We also discussed the importance of finding the right approach for each individual. While some men may benefit from a more structured therapeutic approach, others may find greater support through the community and group-oriented approach of men's work. Why is love so important?

The ancient Greeks had a word for everything, including love. They saw it as the root of all human desire and understood that it was something that needed to be nurtured and given attention. Love is not an emotion that comes and goes; rather, it is an action or decision often involving self-sacrifice. It is what allows us to see another person as a full human being and not just an object. When we direct our eros towards God, we are able to achieve the ultimate goal but when we focus on another person with respect and without objectification, we can also experience unlimited growth.

In the last seven to eight years, Paul has had the privilege of listening to men discuss their deepest, most challenging issues - many of which revolve around sexuality. 

There is a lot of confusion around how to handle sexuality, and this is likely because human sexuality has been relatively stable for a very long time until recent decades when there was a massive shift or revolution.  

There is a lot of confusion around basic ideas and concepts of how to handle sexuality. 

This is because human sexuality has been stable for a very long time, and we have gone through a massive shift or revolution since the 60s and 70s.  

If you doubt any of this, you can look at newspapers or any media today and see that there are still repercussions from things like the #metoo campaign or young men who take "the black pill" (i.e., give up on life).
