Episode 05- Holocaust Research Tutorial
In this session I provide you with a verbal tutorial on researching the Holocaust. I include pointers to information provided by me (on ManyRoads) to help you find your way through the confusion created as the legacy of this catastrophic historical period. I, also, share an anecdote or two on some of the experiences I have encountered doing research during this period and geography.
Episode 04- Genealogy, Getting Started
This podcast is a bit different from the more more common Genealogy Getting Started guidance in a few critical ways:
- We focus on what it means to become a family historian or genealogist.
- We ‘look at’ family reactions to Genealogy and family genealogists.
- I help you understand what reasonable expectations for your search(es) might be.
- I offer insights into the joys and frustrations of being ‘the family genealogist’.
Episode 03- Researching German Ancestors
A review of the ManyRoads self-help designed to address the difficulties of German, Prussian, Holocaust (Shoah), and Polish genealogy research. These tools and their content have taken more than 15 years to develop, organize and publish in their current form.
Episode 02- So you think your ancestor was Prussian?
What does it mean when a record(s) says that your family member was Prussian? This topic comes up frequently and seems to cause a lot of confusion, especially here in the US. Perhaps, the following explanations and links will help clarify the matter.
Episode 01- An Introduction
This initial ManyRoads' podcast provides background, context, and an Introduction to the "Life in the Past Lane" series as well as to its host and author, Mark Rabideau.
