The Transcendent Leader - Journey To Inclusion

The Transcendent Leader - Journey To Inclusion

By Maria Drueco

Transcendent Leaders rise above one's self so they can lead others best. They ask the question, “who do I serve?” They focus on what's good for the majority. The term was coined by Harvard University visiting professor Modesto Maidique , he described it as the highest level of Purpose-Driven Model of Leadership.
Let's talk about the mindsets, the attributes of this kind of leadership. and how we can achieve this level of leadership in our personal lives, work and society. Each episodes will feature stories that would provide actionable strategies that we can apply to live and lead better!

A near-death experience from working in a toxic workplace... could that happen?

An average employee spent approximately 90,000 hours at work in their lifetime and this doesn't include any overtime... So, a toxic workplace really has an impact on the health and quality of life of a person.

In today's episode, I am joined by business partners and husband and wife team, Lou Everett and Sherri McManus, to inspire and impact new and old leaders on the topic of leadership and influence.

Lou and Sherri of The Lou Everett Group are known for their highly effective coaching, teaching, and speaking on the importance of personal growth and how it impacts our Influence as a Leader. It's a great conversation with Lou and Sherri as they share:

  • Sherri’s near-death experience from working in a toxic workplace.
  • 6 things a Leader should do every day to enhance their leadership and influence

Navigating Grief: Finding Purpose & Joy Again with Paula Meyer

At 54, Paula Meyer lost her husband to throat cancer. She then encountered health challenges due to the stress of his husband's illness and her job as an international event director. She resigned from her job and went on a year of travel, then Covid arrived and her event planning business took a huge hit. She wrote a book Great Loss, Greater Love where she shared her experience on how she navigated grief. For Paula, grief doesn’t have to stop the flow of life and joy. There is always a gift to find and a path to a new life.

Paula believes that women are important leaders whose voices need to be heard. Her mission is to support women grieving losses to find their voices to create a life of purpose and bring joy back in.

Creating the Transcendent Culture: Cracking the code of elite level performance

Creating the Transcendent Culture: Cracking the code of elite level performance

From the perspective of the organization, we must get out of the practice of thinking about leadership as the mythic hero that is going to lead us to the promised land of success. Long-term, there is a growing mountain of evidence that this approach no longer works.

I am joined by Dan Edds, author and thought leader in reinventing and innovating leadership in the 21st century.

Dan has shared some relevant case studies based on his years of experience being a management consultant to various organizations. Find out how a healthcare provider achieved 96 % workforce engagement. What did this organization have in place to reach this high engagement result?

Dan also mentioned a lot of great insights on:

1) Why the focus of elite, high-impact organizations should shift from developing bold and courageous leaders but in developing bold and courageous employees.

2) The best way to achieve organizational transformation, a transformation that produces innovation and massive growth in customer value

3) Some tips on how transforming the workplace where employees have a place where they can contribute, where they have a voice, and where they can give the best of themselves

4) How individual leaders contribute to a transcendent culture

5) Impact of having a transcendent organizational culture to the employees and customers

6) where to start on our journey on transcendent and inclusive leadership
