Into the Greek Alphabet
On the third and last episode of the season, we discuss the powerful and eventful 2020 hurricane season, where we ran out of names and dipped into the Greek alphabet. We speak to meteorologist Ryan Phillips, climate resilience officer of Miami Beach, Amy Knowles, and Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science professor, Brian Soden on what happened, what can we do now, and what is to come for South Florida and this hurricane season.
Overtown Displacement
We speak with residents of Overtown, a historically Black community in Miami, Florida. Overtown is hidden behind the now newly made city of downtown Miami. We speak to a senior resident and activist on what happens when you displace long-time residents from their homes due to higher elevation and how the phenomenon is now known to be called: climate change gentrification.
White Without Bleaching
In our first episode of “White Without Bleaching,” we explore the controversial topic of sunscreens and coral reefs.
