EP 16: A Conversation on Mental Health and Self-Care
In this episode I have a conversation on mental health in English. This conversation is had with Christina, the creator of the “fall into conversation” podcast. We discuss the effects of COVID-19 on people's mental health, social media, mental health in the Black community, therapy, and perceptions put on Black Women that affect our mental health. On this episode I talk to college students all around the world about their experience this semester with school while living through a global pandemic. I speak with students who went to campus this semester and students who did this semester completely online from home. We have conversations about going through the semester with the BLM movement happening around the world, the election and how students mental health was affected through all of this. In this episode, I have a conversation with the Editor-in-Chief of the Old Gold and Black, the student newspaper at my University since 1916. We have a conversation about the importance of journalism and the need for young people to be keeping up with the news. Especially right now with students having to come back to campus with the risk of getting COVID-19. Student newspapers have strong ties with faculty, staff, and administration, and It important now more than ever for students to stay engaged with college newspapers in order to receive the safe transparency. We are living in such difficult and complicates times, where we are often surrounded by fake news. Read your college newspaper, stay up to date on what is happening around the world. You may learn something new or debunk the information you believed to be true. Tune in and experiences how we see the world.
