Why law, why you?

Why law, why you?

By Mariame Touré

“Why law, why you?” is a new project that aims to put representation at the forefront by opening my network to the stories of various female lawyers in Canada who are doing impactful work not only in the corporate world, but in their larger communities.

By engaging conversations on why these professionals decided to enter the legal field and remain in it after all these years, I hope to inspire other young girls, students and professionals alike on their own journey into the legal world and give them concrete examples of why, as women, they should want to become lawyers.

"Why law, why you?" - The Introduction

Hello to my network!

My name is Mariame and I'm a law student with hopes of one day becoming a successful black woman lawyer.

“Why law, why you?” is a new project I started that aims to put representation at the forefront by opening my network to the stories of various female lawyers in Canada who are doing impactful work not only in the corporate world, but in their larger community.

By engaging conversations on why these professionals decided to enter the legal field and remain in it after all these years, I hope to inspire other young girls, students and professionals alike on their own journey into the legal world and give them concrete examples of why, as women, they should want to become lawyers.

Tune in every week to find out more about the professionals I have the pleasure of interviewing!

Let me know which woman lawyer you want to see on this series next!
