These internal systems form in early childhood using our experience with our parents and primary caregivers as the point of reference we use to form connections to others in adulthood. 

Our attachment style affects everything from our partner and friend selection to how well our relationships progress, and, how they end. 

Knowing our attachment pattern can help us understand our strengths and vulnerabilities within interpersonal relationships. 

Attachment patterns also influence how we connect to the community, science and medicine, alternative healing modalities, education, politics, and faith.
