Rev. Dr. Marisha has launched her new christian podcast "Lioness Queen" empowering women who are struggling with the emotional trauma and heaviness from separation and/or divorce by supporting, coaching, and ministering that there is life after divorce. The ultimate goal is to help women learn how to move forward in their purpose and become totally "residue free."
Take the Leap! There is so much God wants to do in our lives but we are too afraid of taking the leap. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the biggest culprit that inhibits us from taking the leap into our destiny. It is moving beyond your fear and believing beyond your experiences in what God can do through your life that matters. Do not live your life in a nest, take the leap and see what God has destined for your life TODAY!
Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha discusses how we as believers should always walk and talk in faith. It cannot be something we put on and take off but faith should be a constant in our lives. Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things NOT seen. God wants us to believe without evidence or proof just because we know who he is and what he can do.Delusional faith is not the easiest thing to do but based on Hebrews 11, there are a plethora of people who demonstrated extreme faith to give us hope for our situations that we do not need to see the evidence but believe beyond our senses that our God can do impossible things even NOW!
Check out this episode how Rev Dr Marisha talks about Delusional Faith. This is a time and season where God wants you to believe in a reality that you are not experiencing now; believe in a reality with an expected end without knowing how the end will end. Listen to how she shares about how Abraham was a prime example of someone who applied a delusional faith when he choose to sacrifice his son because he believed in a supernatural realm that God was going to do something for him NOW. He didn't know how but all he knew that God would do something. This is the place God wants us to be in this season; he wants us to believe without seeing, believe in a new reality and believe that God can do something for me NOW!
Check out this latest episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how we fail to set expectations because of the changes that happens in our lives. Change is inevitable but it doesn't negate what God has destined for your life if you believe. Oftentimes we do not realize that the breakthrough is so close that we believe more in the false narrative because we are scared of the unknown. We fail to realize that pushing us out of the nest is not for our demise but something we were destined for even in our mothers womb. Check out this episode because you are more ready than ever before and the breakthrough is just around the corner.
Check out Episode 21 "The Fault in Our Perception." Rev Dr Marisha talks about how there is a problem in how we view problems. As a child of God, we have access to have victory in everything that we experience; but it is our perception that must be addressed when problems arise. Oftentimes when problems arise, we hyper focus on the problem that blocks us from believing that God's Got This! It is our view that causes us to be worried, anxious, nervous, doubt, and fear when the problem is not the problem but a flaw in how we see the problem. It is the fault in how we view the problems we face; God wants us to look at our problems with a supernatural lens that nothing is impossible with God.
Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha turns this metaphor into an application that you can apply to your life about your distractions. We all get distracted especially when things cause us discomfort, pain, and even unfamiliar to a routine. We are definitely creatures of habit but when God places a pebble in our shoe, sometimes we do not know how to respond because the pebble pulls us away from our faith, pulls us to be afraid of letting go and it pulls us into a place of always wanting to figure everything out, when God's Got This! Check out what 3 things pebbles do that hinder us from moving forward and believing in the promises of God.
Check out this weeks episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha is reminding you that God's Got Your It. Many of us are all dealing with situations that we feel is overwhelming or we do not have the answer to. Oftentimes we try to find answers within ourselves and the more we think of the "it" or problems of life, the more distracted we get on focusing on things that do not matter. Instead of focusing on the problems, God wants you to let him handle it. Listen and let Rev. Dr. Marisha help remind you that God's Got Your It!
Definitely this pandemic has caused all of us to question what we believe and who we believe in. We have been dealing with a faceless virus that had us doubting our faith and questioning what in the world God was doing. Oftentimes we want God to deliver us from things just like the disciples during the storm; they wanted Jesus to deliver them from the storm but Jesus was sleep because the storm wasn't the issue, it was their mindset. Check out this episode how Rev. Dr. Marisha discusses how even in the midst of the storm God's Got us. Sometimes God's intent is not to deliver us from the storm but to deliver us in the storm. Whatever storms are raging in your life right now listen to this episode to be reminded that God's got this and he's got you.

Check out this latest episode from Rev. Dr. Marisha talking about you are next in line for God to do something extraordinary in your life. Sometimes the trials and tribulations of life can seem so hard and challenging to bear that we forget that God always wants the best for us and always desires to bless us. Life has a way of making us hyper focus more on what others have in the natural versus the power and authority of the miracles God can bestow in our lives. Unfortunately, there are blockages that inhibit us to believe that there are custom made blessings just for you. Listen how Rev. Dr. Marisha helps you understand that the key factor is all connected to what you believe and if you can believe beyond yourself then God will show himself strong in your life.
Check out Rev. Dr. Marisha's episode on "Still I Rise" where she talks about the strength of a woman. It is a women's strength that helps her to rise above her circumstances and rise to the next level God is taking her too. However, oftentimes women forget that God chose them and he chose the valleys they had to endure because just like Mary women are honored, favored, he is with them and women are chosen. It is understanding that women are chosen beings to do all the things that they are able to do and no matter what, God will carry them every step of the way to rise and take their rightful place.
Check out Rev. Dr. Marisha's episode on celebrating mother's who are like a mother. Oftentimes there are mothers who go unnoticed and who have been a mother to so many that their sacrifice goes unnoticed. Their work is not celebrated and it should be celebrated. It is time to value and realize all of the mother's who helped the village raise children in their families and community. Being the vehicle is not enough which is why God allowed women to have the heart of a mother no matter what so that when a mother does not have the skill set to be a guide from their residue, another woman can step in and provide guidance. Check out this episode and how Rev. Dr. Marisha values moms who are like a mom!
I went from a teen pregnancy statistic to successful entrepreneur, but it took me decades of trial and error. After 3 divorces, sending two kids to college, and losing two corporate jobs in a single year, I was starting over… again and again. I successfully created the life of my dreams where I get paid to write and help others.
Now … I help other single moms find the same as we transform the chaos and fear after divorce into fuel to skyrocket their lives. I believe good people do great things when they have the time, money and freedom to show up fully in the world. My mission is to help women create a plan for true freedom that comes from falling in love with their life and attracting financial success.
We are not meant to merely survive this life. We are meant to thrive in it!
Check out this episode when Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how the enemy desires to shatter our faith to not believe in God. It is his job to sift us like wheat but God wants us to believe only in him. There will be challenges in life that can shake up our faith but we must remember that God took the weight off our shoulders but we have to let it go and people go. Oftentimes when our faith is shattered it is because of someone who hurt, abused or did us wrong and we hold onto and want revenge but God is a God of love. We must remember that when our faith is shaken, it has the potential to bring new things, new doors, new opportunities, new blessings but we have to learn to let people go and let God.
Check out part 2 of this episode. Rev. Dr. Marisha continues to talk about how we should regulate our mindset to understand that the things we go through bend us but do not break us. Yes, the challenges of life can cause our faith to bend but it is our mindset and how we process unfortunate events that can still give us the victory if we only believe. We must be mindful that no one has the power or authority to control your destiny and purpose. It is how we self-impose our thoughts in a negative way that influences our faith. Take responsibility and realize the bending of your faith causes you to spiritually grow, spiritually blossom and spiritually move forward.
Check out this new episode! Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how life has a way of making us feel broken but it is the condition of our heart or the condition of our mindset that we need to check. There will be people who we love dearly who will disappoint us but we should never give them so much power and control to influence our hearts. God is love and designed our hearts in a way to love and be loved. Check out this episode to understand that God doesn't break up but sometimes bends us to build our faith.
Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the connection between weights in our mindset and spiritual growth. It is critical that we let go all of our hurts, past, pain, trauma, and unfortunate events before we can rise and soar into the place where God wants us to be. It is the weights that people hold onto from their past that hinders them from moving forward and elevating into the next level. Unfortunately, letting go is a process that all of us have difficulty with especially when it relates to people who are close to us. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha shares David's story and how he had to get to a place of letting go and surrender before rising and soaring into his destiny.

This powerful episode taps into the negativity we hold onto like Linus' dirty, dingy, and stinky security blanket. We know negativity is unhealthy but for some reason we hold onto it when it is more damaging than good. Check out how Rev.Dr. Marisha talks about how holding onto negativity holds you back and makes you go in reverse instead of moving forward into the destiny God planned for you life.
Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha's discusses how we allow lies that were imposed on us to inhibit and block us from rising up and taking our rightful place as the Queen God called us to be. There are 3 areas that the enemy attacks that tries to distract us from rising above the clouds and living our life in a way that we believe more in who we are in CHRIST! In this season, it is time to stop holding onto the lies that others have spoken over us and walk in where God is calling us in this season.
Check out Episode 8: Rise Above the Clouds. Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how there have been a plethora of women, despite the odds, who decided to filter their experiences through faith over fear. They made decisions and tapped into their inner strength God gave them and rose beyond their circumstances to do great things. Many women do not realize how special they are in God's eyes and the strength God gave to all women which is impeccable. Check out Rev. Dr. Marisha's tips about how women can rise above the clouds and walk into their destiny.

Today, Simone empowers women to have the courage to take ownership of their lives and make powerful decisions so they can create a beautiful adamant life of happiness, abundance and financial freedom, no matter where they are starting...so they can Live Happy By Design.
Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how we look for love in the wrong places. Oftentimes we look for love in other relationships which is based on what we see in the natural not based on what really goes on behind closed doors. We get caught up in being jealous looking at other relationships not realizing what God has for us is for us. As a result, we struggle to wait in the process. Hear how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about our biggest culprits in looking for love in all the wrong places are connected to: trusting God in his process and promise, waiting on God to bring who he wants in our life, putting band-aids on our scars, jumping in and out of relationships, and looking back at what was and not in the here and now.
Check out this episode - Rev. Dr. Marisha asks a question of "where would we be without God as our lifeline?" Where would we be without the love of God? We often times crave and long for a love that is unhealthy, abusive, selfish and not based on God's biblical principles. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha shares 3 ways we block ourselves from fully experiencing God's love to the fullest. It is never based on what God doesn't have to give, it is all based on our mindset in how we process our circumstances which inhibit the flow of God's love to overtake us to an intimate level.
Check out Take the Limits Off (Part 2). Rev. Dr. Marisha discusses how we have courage enough to believe but lack the faith to believe that God can perform a miracle for little ole me. Sometimes we do not realize how much we limit God in our thinking and how we process our circumstances and filter everything through our past. As a result, our unbelief takes over and we limit God in who he is, the power he has and if he can bless me in my current situation right now. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the 2 blind men who had enough faith to get them in front of Jesus but didn't have a measure (expectation) of faith, great enough to believe it could happen for them.
Check out this season where Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about we set limits on ourselves and what we believe. One of the biggest hinderances is believing beyond our own abilities and then waiting for the manifestation. Our free will has the ability to offset our mindset giving us a false sense of reality in what we can do; however, in this life we can't do nothing without God. It is all about resetting our mindset in a way that helps us to believe to let go of what we can do and let God take control. We struggle as a human race to believe beyond ourselves but with God all things are possible if we take the limits of what God can do.
Check out this tribute to Rev. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr that opens our minds to how it was all about how he responded to others that was key to his influence and impact. Oftentimes when one is hurt, misused, abused, slandered or stabbed in the back, it is not your first instinct to respond in love. Nevertheless, it is insightful and amazing how Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. always responded with 3 virtues that attributed to his staircase mindset to see beyond what others could see and that is: faith, hope and love. When one responds from that perspective then change will happen but it is all about changing our mindset first before we see change. The world is still seeing the residue from those 3 virtues that he showed the world that is still a change agent for the greater good eve in society today.
Hindsight is 20/20 and we have had a year of a lifetime in 2020 but the question lies in "what did you learn?" Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how we need to make more of connection with out past in a way that allows us to remember how much God was with us through it all. It is not about looking back in the past with regrets, blame, shame or even glamorizing what was but realizing that your past was a set up for where God is taking you in this season. This is no time to be scared of the giants because God has already overcome them for you if you realize that life doesn't happen to you but through you.
Happy New Year! Check out this new episode from Rev. Dr. Marisha - "New Year, New Level and New You." This is the expectation and attitude God wants for us to not only keep in the beginning of the year but throughout the year 2021. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha emphasizes that its not enough to believe in the beginning but you must believe until your change comes. It is time for God's people to believe more in our future than in our past.
Rev. Dr. Marisha ends off this year with an episode to keep you believing and expecting God to do great things in your life. It is so easy to think about the various wrinkles that have happened in our lives especially this year 2020. This has been the deepest wrinkle we all experienced but it still never negates that God has more to come and your latter shall be greater than your past. It is time to focus more on the blessings of God instead of the wrinkles in time.
Mechelle Luster's Bio
I'm Mechelle, a writer whose work is inspired by my experience with divorce.
In 2014, I met someone, married him very quickly, and after 11 of the most challenging months of my life, I left the marriage feeling ashamed, disappointed in myself and uncertain I'd ever smile again.
A few years later, I created an Instagram page called “Hope After Divorce” - a page filled with the words I needed to hear during my separation. These words have resonated with thousands on Instagram and have given me the opportunity to share my story with people around the world.
Yes, there's still hope after divorce and domestic violence. There's still hope.. even after this.
Check out this week's episode from Rev. Dr. Marisha - "Leaving Complaining Behind." This episode emphasizes on the children of Israel and their notorious laundry list of complaining that impeded them from walking into the promised land. Oftentimes we do not realize how much we complain about things that do not matter that we forget the important things in life. Have you ever taken time to reflect on how many times you complain about things that do not even matter? Think about all of the loved ones who died this year due to COVID that do not have an opportunity to complain because they are not here anymore. It is time to leave complaining in 2020 and begin focusing more on life and living life more abundantly in 2021.
Check out Episode 36 - Leaving Fear Behind in 2020! What fears are you going to leave behind in this year? Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the importance of leaving fear behind. It is one of the biggest strongholds that we all experience in our lives. The problem with fear is that we believe a false reality that God never gave us, never intended us to keep and never wanted it to stop us from stepping into the new dimension of our lives. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha shares how staying stuck in between in your past and future hinders you from reaching your full potential and walking in the promises of God.
Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the importance of leaving things behind so that God can take you to the next level in your life. Unfortunately, our biggest culprit is the fear of the unknown. We hide behind our fears, doubts, inadequacies, inhibitions and believe the false reality without moving toward our fear. Check out this episode that will require you to leave some things behind so God can lead you into some new things and levels he can't wait to shift and move you into.

Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about seasons in the detour can have a negative impact on our mindset. Definitely we as a people, do not like change but Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 talks about seasons and how there is a time for everything. Sometimes we do not realize that seasons are the wilderness places in our lives that push more growth in us like never before. Definitely seasons or changes in one's life do not seem as if it works for our good but it actually benefits us even more. It was the Children of Israel's mindset that had them defeated in the wilderness, it was not because God didn't provide or take care of them. Oftentimes, we get stuck in the seasons or valleys not realizing it is just a matter of time before we launch into the promised land. Check out this episode and see how Rev. Dr. Marisha shares how to be like a leaf and rely on your source=GOD!
Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the importance of God being your source no matter what. Oftentimes we keep God first when things are going well but when there is an undercurrent pulling you under the water and you cannot stay afloat, this is the best time to hold to God's unchanging hand. Life is a journey and we all experience hardships individually and as a nation but do we really trust God no matter what? I know there are a lot of people who were happy that there is a new administration in the white house but in the same regard, if God kept the same administration in the position, would you still trust that God is your source? Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the importance of keeping God as our source no matter what is going on in the choppy river. It is a testament to our faith and what we believe when we go with the flow of the river and give God permission to lead us in his ways which are ten times better than our ways.
Check out this episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how you have to faith over fear. Definitely in the sign of the times we are so distracted by the cares of the world and we are so distracted on the storm than on God. In the eye of the storm, do you still believe that God is with you? The disciples failed this test like many of us, we getting distracted on the storm and forget that God is in the boat with us. He has not left us and even in this political season and pandemic, God is with us if we only believe. This is a time we need to have faith more than fear like never before. Do you still believe no matter who is in the White House, do you still believe that God is your source?
Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the importance of raising our expectations is so critical in this season. Sometimes when things do not happen the way we thought, we often quit before God manifests his glory in our lives. Sometimes there is a reason for the delay and do not believe that God is even doing something in the delay. Check out how she uses the story of Lazarus and how Jesus delayed even going to attend to his friend's illness because Jesus was trying to leave an imprint on the people's subconscious in a way to believe no matter what; this is where God has us now even in this season. He wants us to believe no matter what but the question is can you believe beyond your experiences, expertise, association, and even what you have learned?
Check out this week's episode to raise your expectations and believe! 26b1dwGi1KLSRKfPL4IK
Check out this episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha discusses how sometimes life throws us curve balls and everything may seem like a dead-end or like the promises of God are denied. We must remember that a delay is never a denial and God is always trying to expand our faith, show off his power and glory but at the same time, God wants us to raise our expectations and take the limits off. There may be detour, dead-end, and warning signs that make us doubt but this is the best place for God to get us to put all of our faith, hope and trust in what he can do supernaturally in the detour. As believers we need to stop making assumptions based on timing, direction and the unknown. We cannot be so closed minded in the detour because God has the final say and is always an on time God.
Check out how this episode how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the power Nelson Mandela had within himself related to his freedom. Although life may give you a detour and one may feel isolated, distracted, disheartened, dismayed, disappointed and alone but even in the midst of the trials of life, we cannot believe the lies of the enemy that the detour will stop our destiny. Nelson Mandela learned how in the midst of the storm, he had to learn how to be free even from behind a jail cell. He learned the power of being free in his mind was more important than his physical freedom. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha applies this lack of freedom to this pandemic and how we need to learn how to be free in our minds just like Nelson Mandela.
Check out this episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha defines the pandemic as the "Detour of 2020." Definitely this year was not what we thought it would be especially with the double digits of 2020. In the beginning, there was an expectancy that this year was going to be a great year; however, our lives were traumatized when COVID-19 hit America. We felt trapped, scared, and confused how this could happen just like the children of Israel during the Red Sea experience. We all have had Red Sea experiences when we were put in a situation and we didn't know what to do but rely totally on God. We must remember that God led Moses and the children of the Israel to the Red Sea just like God led us to the year 2020. Check out how Rev. Dr. Marisha emphasizes that when God leads you to a Red Sea experience, there is always a miracle in the detour.
Check out this episode as Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about Psalms 1:3 if God can restore and regenerate trees, he can restore and regenerate in our lives as well. The only commandment that God gave to a tree was to STAND and that is all God is requiring us to do during trials and tribulations. Unfortunately, there is a false sense of security that we have of independence but COVID-19 has tested our independence and tested our faith in a way that we have to rely on our source. The only thing we can do is be like a tree and "STAND!" As a result, we trust that God will regenerate and give us back everything that we lost and even more.
Tarinna Olley was born Tarinna Whitmire in Washington, DC from Ward 7 in the Deanwood Section of the city. I come from humble beginnings and my mother always said to me, “that I thought I was Gloria Vanderbilt!” Although, my family struggled with financial resources at times my parents made sure I was not in lack. How they did it I now know was by prayer and faith. Despite living in a neighborhood where it wasn’t uncommon to hear about gun violence and drugs I still wanted more. I was always different than my peers. Basically, I always wanted more than what my neighborhood offered. I always had a bigger than life dream!
I have been trained and gifted to do a number of things. I am a counselor, Minister, trainer, author, international speaker, and poet. I absolutely love serving and helping in my community with grass root organizations and have been doing since my teenage years. I have over 18 years of government service in the social service arena. I am a global leader and one of my most awarding experiences was speaking in Abuja, Nigeria at the HIVE Africa Global Leaders Program which further ignited my passion for purposed and destiny.
I attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. I also attended Howard University and have Masters of Education in Guidance Counseling. I have received global leadership training from the HIVE Global Leaders Program at Harvard University.
I have been featured on various media outlets including Pillow Talk with Angela Stribling, The Daily Drum with Harold Fisher, Joe’s Place on WHUR 96.3FM. I also have been an invited guest on HUR Voices SiriusXM Radio, and Ruach Radio based in London.
This episode Rev. Dr Marisha talks about the three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who had the right perspective about what they believed in and didn't waiver. Even in the midst of adversity they took a stand in who they are, what they believed about the world and what they believed about God. No matter what they didn't take the easy way out, they still were blessed with a position after taken into captivity, there was a treasure within them that gave them the steadfastness to stand even in the fire, and they knew God would vindicate them. Even in the face of death, they still believe but what about us? Can we still believe in this pandemic furnace we are in right now? Can we still believe that God is able to do what he said he would do? Check out this episode to see how is your perspective during this time?
Do you have control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviors or do they control you? Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how God has already made provision for you and it is the hearing and walking out of God's word that makes the difference. Oftentimes we do not have the faith mindset to even believe for our own self when God did not require you to have faith within yourself; he requires you to have faith through him. When we have faith through what God can do through us then we will have the right perspective.
Rev. Dr. Marisha pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman's life and legacy emphasizing the importance of having the right perspective on life makes the difference. It is not about the longevity of life but the quality of the dash between your birth date and death date that can create greatness.

Marilynn Dawson's Lived Experience began back when my kids where ages 3 and 5. I’d fled an abusive marriage and would find myself divorced almost 2 years later. Overwhelm coupled with an intense desire to be obtaining a career to raise my kids on my own were two driving forces back then. I am a doer, so figuring out how to do things in the best way and time possible was constantly top of mind even when all I wanted to do was cry. Financial constraints became a very real thing after graduating the training program, and that began various lessons teaching our household how to live on less than a shoestring budget (based on what most budget bloggers think people have to work with).
Life around the home was never static for more than several months at a time as a result, with when and how we did things regularly being tweaked for better efficiency as the kids grew, and as finances fluctuated.
I now offering my lived experiential knowledge to other Sisters in Christ who could use a certified life coach to come alongside them while they figure out schedules or money concerns while raising their children. It has been my experience that coupled with moments of quiet before the Lord, these two areas contribute the most to a mother’s sense of rest and ability to handle the world.
This blog began in 2020 to capture some of those lived experiences, perspective shifts, expectation shifts, etc, to show how we did it. When it came to raising my children, the Bible was our guide and for day-to-day practical behavior, the book of Proverbs in particular. You will find a fair bit of Scripture scattered around my writings as a result. Sometimes a blog article won’t have anything related to Scripture, other times, half the blog article will be Scripture quotes.
Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how our perception of ourselves and perception towards others influences our minds in a way that can jump start a squatter mindset if we do check it at the door. It is all about how our minds process situations and circumstances in a way that easily can trigger something within us to think overly negative. Listen how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about her negative mindset as it relates to individuals not wearing masks when out in public.
Check out this episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about mood and how it was never intended to be a permanent disposition but temporary. Sometimes life can throw us curved balls and we feel overwhelmed at times that may impact our mood but it is important to not allow your mood to become a negative mindset squatter. Listen on how Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how David had trouble with his mood but then triggered his faith to have a yet praise.
This episode Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about where negative mindset started and how powerful it is to you and future generations. Negativity is all in the subconscious but it is connected to an assumption or suggestions that the enemy plants in our mind in a way that leaves space for our mind to process from a natural perspective and think more negative than a spiritual faith perspective. Check out this episode and how God wants you to have more of a faith mindset in this time and season in your life.
Deanna Murphy's Bio
She is the owner and founder of Deanna Murphy International and the creator of YOUR HAPPY EVER AFTER (TM). Her mission to to help 1,000,000 separated and divorced Christian women, who left sexually betrayed marriages, to heal from the pain of his betrayal, discover their TRUE identity and rewrite their happy ever after. unwanted, unworthy, abandoned and unattractive. These feelings and this identity crisis led to self destructive behavior such as trying to commit suicide twice, cutting and looking for love in all the wrong places. This identity crisis also created difficult circumstances in her life such as homelessness, losing all her money, and tanking her credit score. This led to years of difficulties trying to recover and get past her divorce. It wasn't until she discovered her TRUE identity that she was able to move past her pain and divorce, repair her life and rewrite her happy ever after.

This episode Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about the man at the pool of Bethesda and how he developed emotional scars for 38 years waiting by that pool. He had a victim mindset, a limited way of thinking, and a way of coping instead of believing. Listen to this episode and see how God wants you to have a faith mindset to believe that you can be healed and made whole. It is not about the physical or emotional ailment but it is all about what do you believe. You have a choice!
Check out this episode where Rev. Dr. Marisha discusses why it is challenging for an emotional scar to heal and why the enemy doesn't want it to heal. She uses an illustration from David's life and how he repeatedly dealt with rejection and how the depth of his scar came from 3 things: WHO-someone close to him, WHEN-rejection started at an early age and WHAT-the experience that triggered the emotional scar in his life which is what happens to us.
This episode discusses the challenges of embracing the new/change. We all have trouble accepting major life transitions that happen to us not realizing that God sees more in you than you see in yourself. We fail to shift our minds in a way to look at what God is doing instead of hyperfocusing on what is happening to us. We never really understand that God provides a road in the wilderness but we are so focused on the wilderness and where we are in our lives that we fail to see the road in the wilderness where God is trying to take us for promotion and advancement. Check out this episode and learn ways to embrace the new things that God is doing in your life today.

Having been raised mostly by my grandparents, Alice & Clarence Pressley, they instilled in me to always put God first, others second and myself last. They imparted in me that it is most gratifying to help others, which in turn would help to make me a better person. From a young age I was involved in community service by speaking to the City Council advocating to keep my neighborhood kid friendly. Once I became an adult, I was recognized by former Mayor Dinkins, as the youngest Block Association President in the Borough of Queens.
I am presently a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., Theta Chi Chapter, which is a professional nursing organization organized in 1932 at Freedman’s Hospital, now known as Howard University Hospital. I have been a member since 1993 and presently hold a position as Parliamentarian. Chi Eta Phi, Sorority, Inc.’s motto is Service to Humanity. This occurs through giving back to the community by hosting blood pressure screenings, health education, teen empowerment, senior advocacy and sisterhood.
I am a proud charter member of Greater New York City Black Nurses Association. A professional nursing organization that recognizes, supports, “represents and provides a form for Black Nurses, which advocates and implements strategies to ensure access to the highest quality of healthcare for persons of color.”
As of result of my commitment to the community and through hard work, I was acknowledged as the youngest Block Association President by then New York City Mayor, David Dinkins.
I currently advocate by speaking to at risk youths and adults, facilitating and motivating them to let their voices be heard. I have facilitated a parenting class at the Springfield Family Residence on at a Business Employment workshop and facilitated a parenting workshop for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Delta Beta Zeta Chapter. In addition, I was a part of a livestreamed panel discussion at Connetquot Central School District of Islip, sharing my experiences as a Registered Nurse and encouraging students to consider a career in the field of nursing. Likewise, I was a panelist on a workshop held at Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York, “Pouring Into the Next Generation,” which empowers teenagers with open dialogue about leadership and nursing.
Each year I sponsor a young lady for her prom. I meet with her mother and we go shopping together. When I see the joy on a young ladies’ face because they feel good about themselves, it makes the sacrifice worth it.
I am a Registered Nurse at a major hospital in NYC, havingobtained a Masters of Public Administration– with concentration in Emergency/Disaster Management. I am mother of 3 wonderful adult children and the grandmother of 4 precious grandchildren. I live by my personal quote, “Tell me I can’t do something…I will do my best to prove you wrong.”
This episode talks about how it is so easy for women to lose their identity in the role of a wife. Our lives can easily parallel the life of Martha from the scriptures as "busy bees" and not taking care of ourselves and realizing the treasure that God has placed in us. Rev. Dr. Marisha wants you to walk with her through this journey of focusing more on the treasure within versus what negative happened in your life. It is time for Lioness Queens to have an awakening experience and realize how God is trying to use them for the kingdom in this time and season.....
Check it out!
Check out this episode where we talk about the connection between why we allow our fear mindset to stop us for moving forward. We can learn a lot from the children of Israel and what they did and didn't do as it relates to their fear mindset. It was all about a mental breakdown between their liberation and enslavement that planted a fear mindset into their subconscious like it does with us. We allow what was imposed or self-imposed to plant a corresponding fear mindset that stops us from believing the truth...which is the word of God.
Check it out and be blessed!
This episode is about how the children of Israel wanted the very thing that God called them out of. God used Moses to lead his people out of Egypt but it was their mindset that kept them subconsciously in bondage. God has physically set them free but mentally they had triggers, believed the false narrative and did not realize who God called them to be in that season. As a result, they looked back and desired the place they hated and despised. Check out this episode as I relate to how we as Lioness Queens do the exact thing....we look back and desire things that God called us from but we won't trust God enough to be our source.
REVEREND SHERRI D. THOMAS
Sherri D. Thomas was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Hyattsville, Maryland. She received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration/Accounting at the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s in Theology at Regent University. Sherri currently works as an Administrative/Training Officer with the Federal Government.
Sherri is very grateful for her parents who emphasized the importance of having a relationship with the Lord. As a result, she gave her life to Christ at the age of 9 years old. Sherri LOVES the Lord and is committed to serving Him in any capacity. She also LOVES the people of God! She serves on several ministries at her local church. She is one of the Worship Leaders on the Praise Team; active participant in the music ministry; member of the Women of Rare Distinction Executive Board; intercessor; mentor and ordained licensed Minister of the Gospel.
Sherri is clear that part of her life’s purpose is to minister to women that have experienced hurt. Having experienced brokenness and overcoming divorce, she understands the importance of extending support and encouragement to others in need. In this new chapter of her life, she is optimistic and committed to the path God has set before her.
A few of her favorite scriptures: Psalms 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me; Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”; Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.
This episode refers to Lot's wife and how looking back lead to her demise. It was all about obedience, perspective and getting stuck in a place you don't belong. God doesn't want Lioness Queens to get stuck carrying their past into the future which is all about mindset. Lot's wife turning back was an indication of her Sodom mindset that still was in her subconscious. As a result, God did not want her Sodom mindset to influence others in the new places where God was taking them. In the same regard, God doesn't want you having a past mindset and get stuck in a place and space you do not belong anymore. God wants Lioness Queens to trust his ways, trust his plan and move forward with no regrets.
Listen to how God helped me in the area of not looking back and getting stuck in my past.
In this episode we start talking about the importance of not looking back with regrets. It is one of the biggest tricks of the enemy to tell you lies that things were not that bad which causes your subconscious to reminisce. In addition, the enemy plants thoughts in your subconscious that causes you to make assumptions about things that could happen down the road. God didn't intend for you to have everything figured out but just move forward and trust his ways. Philipians 3:13 tells us that we are to forget those things that are behind and press toward things ahead. This scripture is all about our mindset and consciously forcing our mind to think on things ahead which channels our thoughts to move forward one step at a time. Listen to Rev. Dr. Marisha talk about her experience with looking back and what God told her to do.
This episode is based in Jeremiah 17:8 and how God only requires trees to stand and draw their nutrients from the water which is what he wants us to do as well. God wants us to draw life from him because he is our life source and life line. Even when we do not know what to pray, he intercedes on our behalf all we have to do is stand....having done all Lioness Queens, just STAND!
This episode is about helping women understand that staying in an unhealthy marriage is not what God wants for you. It is about realizing that God loves you and wants more for you but we cannot be afraid to move from the unfamiliar and step into all God has for you. Wanting someone who doesn't want you is a safe mindset but God wants to give you greater and better Lioness Queens - do not be afraid to move forward! Check out this latest episode...
This episode Rev. Dr. Marisha talks about how our mindset has the ability to inhibit experiencing God's love for us. It is not that God is not giving or showing it but it is what we are focused on that distracts and blocks us. Rev. Dr. Marisha added an exercise at the end to help you get more of a visual of what the enemy is trying to do to distract you for God bringing restoration and balance in your life.
Welcome to Lioness Queen Episode 2. This is the first podcast for the month of March and the theme for the month is "God's love." In this episode Rev. Dr. Marisha shares her personal experiences about how challenging it was to experience God's love while focusing on the lies of the enemy and not walking in faith. This episode will give insight into the wiles of the enemy, ingredients all marriages need to grow and survive but most of all, the importance of how much we as Lioness Queens need to experience God's love to move forward after separation and/or divorce.
