Stephen Liu
Stephen Liu is a friend of mine here in Taichung, Taiwan. He has a very interesting life story and business background which in many ways parallels my own: manufacturing involving machine tools for export. Stephen also moved from his position on equipment sales to work for former customer Foxconn during their period of their and Apples steady growth together. Look forward to hearing more from Stephen and I on a new future podcast series in development where we'll focus on both environmentally & socially beneficial technologies from the East West perspective. For Mom
So the weekend after Thanksgiving a good time to reflect. i had been thinking about doing something to remember Mom since her passing on 7/2/20 of this year-declared a Covid 19 death. Mom had not been the healthiest-the picture above was at her 80th birthday party early this year. She looked pretty good, actually the best she had in a long time. Anyhow, the rest of what I want to say is in the podcast. Love you Mom-it wasn't always easy but it was always real. Wouldn't be here without you and I'll never forget that. Socialybrium music permitted by Melvin Gibbs  who like me lived in Vandeveer Projects in Flatbush for a spell.

Charles Blass
Today's podcast guest: Charles Blass is quite an interesting character. I originally met him thorough Melvin Gibbs on Twitter. This was back in the early days of twitter when you could see your "friends" friends in their stream and respond to conversations and meet new people. Charles was producing several musical projects at the time-new recordings in fact with Melvin Gibbs, The Burnt Sugar Orchestra, Socialybrium and others. He has been doing the Audio Gumbo Radio Show for a long time and does Sun Radio. Charles and I talked for quite a while on many of his musical and cultural experiences (including Sun Ra, PFunk, Jef Lee Johnson, Jimi Hendrix) and contributions. Melvin Gibbs kindly provided permission to include the inclusion of music from Socialybrium: a special project between him, J T Lewis, Blackbyrd McKnight and the late legend: Bernie Worrell from PFunk, & Talking Heads fame. Charles is currently involved in the Cicolab Project. www.bbluesman.com

I've been shooting exclusively on IPhone for several months now and using Vistax as my camera app and begin with one of their presets after capturing image. I've been quite impressed with the level of control and image quality in Vistax. So much so I thought I'd invite Sebastien on and find out more about his product and the man behind them.

Guest: Jack Mangan
Jack is an author and podcaster friend of mine from back in the day (2005ish) of the original wave of podcasting. He hosted a podcast called Deadpan and wrote a novel: Spherical Tomi which did well as a podcast audiobook on Podiobooks. Lately he's been involved in a new graphic comic novel project inspired by the metal song : Am I Evil, written and performed by Diamond Head and popularized by Metallica. We also touch on the protests/riots/looting going on in the US as a partial response to the death of George Floyd and many other black people that died while briefly in police custody, and also likely due to economic and health crises caused by Covid 19 impact upon the US.
