Season two coming soon!
Thanks so much to all of you for listening. It means a lot and it's really keeping me going right now. π
I'm taking a little break for a few weeks to focus on some life things and work on some exciting new services.
Look after yourselves and I'll see you soon. π
In the meantime, come and say hi on Instagram and Twitter for marketing tips, behind the scenes shenanigans and dog-based memes.

16. What to invest in first if you've got a small budget
There are so many options for you to spend your money on, it's important to choose the ones that will get you the results you're after.
While it's tempting to jump straight into paid marketing, there are a few things to consider first to get your foundations right.
In this episode, I share a few prompts to help you decide where's best to spend your money and put it to the best use for you right now.

15. 10 things to think about before running paid ads
Ads are a great way to get more eyes on your brand, more website traffic or more product sales by letting people know you exist and how you can help them.
Getting your foundations right first before investing your time, money and energy, means you're more likely to see success and get the results you want.
This week I share my top ten things to consider to get the best from your ads if you're thinking about getting started.

14. What does growth mean to you?
This week I get my ramble on and chat about the unintentional side-effects 'brag' culture can have in marketing.
Growth means something different for everyone. For you it could mean freedom to control your environment, working with your favourite clients, learning new things and offering new services, or earning a particular income.
Seeing other people shouting about how great they're doing is a one-way trip to comparisonville and feeling bad about yourself.
There's no right or wrong way to grow your business, only the right way for you. Screw what everyone else is doing, do it your way.
π― Potty mouth warning: If you're listening with kids nearby, I say "piss" at 00:59.

13. How to get more personality into your marketing
Sharing your unique personality is the ultimate way to connect with your customers. Nobody else is like you.
It lets your customers get to know you and attracts like-minded people. It also filters out people you don't want to be attracting.
Figuring out the right way to express your personality gives your marketing soul. That's what makes it special.
I share my favourite tips to express more of your personality without it feeling forced.
You can't share too much personality, that's not a thing.
The more you try things, the more comfortable you become. When you nail the sweet spot that works best for you, creating content is less stressful, more fun and more you.

12. Looking after your mental health when marketing yourself
Working solo and marketing yourself can bring up all sorts of fun emotions and it's easy to end up in a spiral.
Everybody's different and no-one can tell you what's best for you. You'll also likely have some of your own steps that you turn to when you need them.
I wanted to share some things that help me when I recognise I'm heading down a certain path. I use these to process my thoughts and remember the reality of a situation, rather than the made-up version I'm worrying about.
The important thing is to take time for yourself and have a few things you can come back to if you feel yourself drifting off course.

11. Gently overcoming procrastination
If you're procrastinating more than normal at the moment, you're not alone.
Sometimes procrastination is what your brain needs. The tricky thing is if you've identified that you are procrastinating and it's not making you feel good, or you feel guilty that you should be doing other things.
It's important to be gentle with yourself. Don't force yourself to do a butt-load of stuff just because you feel you have to.Β
If you do want to gently start and change things, in this episode I share my favourite tips to help you understand where your procrastination is coming from and feel more focused.

Building your confidence with video is the perfect way to stand out and let others get to know you.

9. Your "should I post this?" checklist
This week I share 6 questions to help you decide whether to post your content, photo or idea on social media.
You know when you spend ages creating images or writing posts, then right before you hit publish you second-guess yourself and think "should I be sharing this, is this what I'm about?"
There are steps you can take to help you stop second-guessing yourself, or at least move past it when it happens, and make a quick decision in the moment.
Having a checklist like this helps you sense-check your posts and make sure everything you're sharing is right for you and your customers.

8. Why your introvert superpowers make you a brilliant marketer
Being public and talking about yourself is scary and it feels weird. But as an introvert, you have superpowers that are perfect for marketing the way you want to and in a way your customers want to see from you.
When people hear marketing they often think about networking or selling, but the reality is that lots of marketing methods these days lend themselves to introverts.
You're completely in control of everything you do. Knowing what energises you, setting boundaries and understanding your superpowers helps you choose channels and methods of marketing that suit you and your values.
And when you market in a way that's right for you, you can and will make it successful because you're doing it in a way that's authentically your way and that's exactly what makes you stand out.

7. 14 gentle questions to reflect & reset your brain for a new month
If your brain's mush and you feel like you haven't achieved as much as you'd like, you're not alone.
I share 14 gentle questions to help you reflect, feel good about what you did, reset your brain and keep your thoughts on track for the new month.
This isn't about giving yourself loads to do. It's about what made you happy this month and choosing one small thing you want to achieve next month.
The important thing is that you're taking steady steps in the right direction and cutting down your to-do list to the most important tasks.
Grab your worksheet, spend 20-30 minutes thinking about the questions and set your focus for the next month.
Remember it's about small, simple steps to help you focus and feel a bit more in control.

6. Getting the most out of your content
Coming up with content ideas is hard. Halve the time and energy you spend on content by turning one great idea into lots of helpful pieces of content.
This gives your customers more opportunities to read and learn from you in the way that's best for them. Taking the pressure off you, getting more out of your time and making sure your ideas and knowledge get the attention they deserve.
You might have heard this referred to as repurposing, what that means is taking one piece of content or one idea and turning it into lots of other bits of content or ideas.
Rather than having to come up with loads of different ideas for each separate bit of content, you can have one main idea or topic that you can then use to fill a week's worth of posts along the same theme or split it out over a few months.
This makes it easier to plan your content and create little nuggets of useful info for your audience without having to do twice as much work.

5. Reframe comparison in a more healthy, positive & practical way
Comparing yourself to others is a slippery slope for your mental health, but just saying "don't do it" isn't helpful. Instead, change the way you mentally process it the next time it pops up.
It's easy to get swept up in your thoughts in your little freelance bubble. Use these steps to reframe your thoughts so you've got a healthy way to look at comparison. This helps ground your spiralling thoughts in the moment, gives you perspective and paints a more positive picture. Reframing the way you think about comparison so you can process it instead of fighting to suppress it.
The key thing to remember is that everyone is at different points on their own separate journey. Embracing comparison and looking at the real differences between you and the people you're comparing yourself to, this shows you cold hard facts to put your thoughts into perspective and move past it.

4. Goal setting without the guilt
It's OK if your only goal is to put pants on. Cut yourself some slack while the world's on fire.
You'll see lots of people doing their own thing with goals and intentions for the year. Leave them to it. Do whatever your brain and body need you to do right now and don't feel bad about it.Β
Goals are only useful when you're in the right mindset to do something with them.
If you really want to set a few goals to help you focus, in this episode we'll chat about 6 things you can reflect on to start small and set realistic baby steps.
If like most of us, you're just trying to find the energy to stay afloat, I also share 6 things you can do instead of setting goals. So you can start the year with a mental declutter and stop feeling guilty for not doing the same as other people.Β

2. Create a mini-strategy with 30 minutes & 14 post-its
I talk you through the steps to create a mini-marketing strategy to help you make quick decisions about what you want to do and how you're going to do it.
While I'm a firm believer in having a solid strategy and plan, the main purpose is that you've got something to aim for, you know where you're heading and you can take the right actions to help you get there.
This is great for overthinkers to clear the fog of procrastaplanning and take action. You just need 30 minutes, your brain, 14 post-its and a pen.
