The Catechism of the Council of Trent published in 1566 by order of Pope St. Pius V and edited by St Charles Borromeo takes its reader on a grand and eloquent tour of the Creed, the Sacraments, the Ten Commandments and The Lord's Prayer. A must read for every Catholic who wishes to understand his Faith more deeply.

In this episode we read the short section from the Catechism concerning the word Christ (Χριστοσ) and how this word is especially applied to our Lord and Savior Jesus. Jesus Christ is preeminently a priest prophet and king and therefore by the figure of speech known as "antonamasia" is called "Christ."

The CCT explains that God does not only create, bt he also lovingly governs the things He created by directing each thing to the good as to its proper end. Day 10 I believe in God the Father the "Almighty"
In this episode we read and discuss the Catechism in its treatment of the word "Almighty" in the first article of the Creed. When we say God is almighty we exclude from Him the power of doing things which are really the actions of things that are weak, such as lying or being deceived. We also discuss how the word almighty presupposes and encompasses all the other attributes of God such as his infinity and his omniscience.

In this episode we finish our discussion of the word "Father" in the creed. We discuss what the word contains with regard to God Himself and doctrine of the Holy Trinity. Aiding our discussion of the Catechism we look at the Summa Theologica in the First Part Q. 27, a. 1 and 2 regarding the existence of two "processions" within God. We also look at Q. 32 a.3 concerning the "five notions" in God.
