“Disappointment Hurts... How's Your Mental Health?”
Sep 18, 202327:44
What are you Noticing?

What are you Noticing?

This podcast is an open and honest discussion celebrating the stages of life. What have you noticed as you have redesigned your life? Come along for an awakening  conversation into the transition that women often face as they enter their 50’s and beyond.

We introduce this topic in deep collaboration with our first special guest, Holistic Life Coach Susan Young who has recently concluded personal research into the lifetime of selflessness that many women naturally experience.

  • Beyond middle age, have you noticed a shift in how YOU might now be the priority in your life?

While highlighting the remarkable achievements that women over 50 in various fields and over numerous decades have accomplished, there is also the question of our legacy.

  • Is there restlessness over what we have yet to achieve?

While exploring mortality we discuss physical, mental, and emotional well-being strategies, including the all-important awareness of the power of our minds and the human evolution in desiring something more meaningful in life without resentment.

This triad reveals a conversation about the future through providing personalized advice and solutions to common concerns.

You do not have to identify as female to share in this fulfilling conversation.  All unique, all individual; we are all not alone in common thoughts and experiences. At any point in time within our life there is always someone else near who understands, who notices similarities of experience, and is also within this pursuit that we humans call life.

“Your legacy is every life you’ve touched.” ~ Pema Chodron

Our sincere gratitude is expressed to our first guest… Holistic Life Coach, Susan Young for her extreme knowledge of this topic, her genuine contribution and her time.

Grief is Surrounded in Guilt

Grief is Surrounded in Guilt

“Have you noticed how your grief is often surrounded in Guilt?”

Today’s podcast is an honest discussion on experiencing loss and the natural,

normal response of losing someone or something significant in our lives. Yet why do we often ignore the guilt?

In this episode we acknowledge and share the encouragement felt when little miracles are brought into our awareness. Our exchange twists into the stages of grief and we ponder the “why not’s?”

We discuss the distinct emotional experiences we each live through, how intertwined our sense of responsibility or regret can feel when we lose something or someone.

Often feeling left behind, and even responsible for the loss, we might avoid these emotions without support from others and without looking within at our own inner contemplation.

Reflective questions:

  • What is essential for healing and forward growth during deep times of grief?
  • How can we open our eyes to the process and begin to really notice what we are going through?

Let’s be real… some of us experience divine miraculous gifts from that which is gone.

We hope that you walk away from listening to this Podcast discussion thinking that… just because we cannot explain what we’re feeling, seeing, or experiencing… does not mean that it is not real.

We would love to hear from you.

What if you grew it?

What if you grew it?

Today's topic is, “What if you grew it?”

Your dreams can come true.  What dreams have come true for you?  What dreams have you yet to grow?

In this episode we encourage your advancement toward starting a plan within the direction of a new objective. What seed should you NOW expand personally or professionally?

We recognize what dreams we can leave behind and which dreams we truly should begin to seed. What you focus on expands. Your joy is a choice!

We believe that joy is available to you in the simplest of forms as it is also within the most complex engagements. Give yourself permission to renew old thought patterns, increase new ideas and become the BEST version of your future Self that you wish to transform into.

Ideas are meant to be developed, people whom you meet are meant for you to meet. Grow and receive! You are here to share in support and love to others so that we all become higher elements of ourselves on this earth.

We hope you walk away from listening to this Podcast reflecting on who, what, how and when the message you are given will transform your life or the lives of others. It’s yours to grow.  What if?

What deposit are you going to make toward your future that will not only impact you, but the world all around you?

We would love to hear from you.

What if you grew it, whatever "IT" was for you?

People you meet are meant for you to meet; they may come into your life for a reason, whether long or short term, seconds, hours or years. Listen as we share our authentic conversation of our own journey, something personal about ourselves, and our WHY's.  Our hope for each listener is to reflect with sincere thought, toward the different people who are currently at your Conference Table, and experience self discovery on who would be at your conference table for your best future... whether it be physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually... Who needs to be at your Conference Table?

Grace Unknown

Grace Unknown

Do you feel like you are a “Work in Progress?”

Don’t feel alone. We all are!

You won’t want to miss this episode, packed so full of takeaways, that you’ll need your pen and paper handy.

Today's guest Shelley DeJongh, who lives in a small town in Wisconsin with worldwide connections, shares her “Work in Progress” journey while giving herself grace. She is a real-talking, strength-building, solution-finding, hope-creating therapist/Coach. Shelley believes that healing is a process, that change is possible when we assume responsibility for that change and that a little bit of humor can go a long way.

Listen as Shelley gets real about her addiction journey, raising two teens and how she helps others as a therapist and coach. Her beautiful journey gives us HOPE, we are a work in progress and sometimes grace is unknown.

Big takeaways from the Episode:

  • “Control is an illusion; the only thing we have control over is the choices we make.”
  • “Let your Faith be bigger than your fear.”
  • Overcome fear through Prayer. Shelley feels clear in thought and word when connected to God's energy.
  • Going back and doing the work on shame. Radically accepting I am good enough, I am not less than. Changing the narrative in my thoughts.
  • Making amends with some people in my life. I wrote letters, had conversations, and found forgiveness for the situation and within myself.
  • Her Legacy is to be thought of as a woman who embraced her vulnerabilities and shared them with the world to strengthen a community of humans who also co-exist with substance abuse, chronic health, and mental health challenges.
  • Shelley wants to be known for her pride in her relationship with her faith.
  • Shelley wants to be known for integrity as it relates to her attributes: good decision-making, loyalty, helping others, generating trust, respect, and inclusivity.. She has grown to stand in her truth and align with people, projects, and relationships that empower growth.
  • She also wants to be known for being a work in progress. Shelley is constantly working through old patterns that creep in and create negativity in her thoughts and energy. She may not always get relationships right, but she always assesses how to improve or set boundaries to disengage.
  • Shelley’s daily routine begins with waking up and praying, setting an intention for the day, and manifesting throughout the day through her words, actions, and emotions to keep aligned with the intention she sets.
  • Drinks a lot of water
  • Takes her supplements
  • Gets up and does jumping jacks in between sessions

Shelley is an amazing woman with so much wisdom, knowledge and takeaways. Try adding one of these simple things to your daily routine and watch your life transform. Wanting to connect with Shelley DeJongh? It is best through her website: https://shelleyramseydejongh.com/

BEING THE BELOVED!

BEING THE BELOVED!

Suffering Anxiety? Triggered issues getting the best of you? Have you lost Faith but never gave up HOPE?

Discover how to tap into your strengths that come from your weaknesses as today’s guest, Dr. Tim Fortescue shares his journey, techniques and experiences allowing you to reconnect and never give up hope.

For nearly two decades, Dr. Tim Fortescue has been involved in ministry leadership in the church, community, and seminary settings. During this time, he has been impacted by life/spiritual coaches and mentors who have helped make life better. The impact others have had on him has helped him to be able to coach and mentor other leaders and people of faith.

Some of the realities of growing up in Appalachia in a working-class family delayed him from realizing his full potential and knowing that he is a beloved child of God until later in my life. Because of what he's learned, Tim gets excited about coaching and the impact that he can have on others as he helps them realize their full potential and "belovedness." As Tim continues to learn and grow, he wants to help others to do the same.

Tim is a professionally trained and experienced coach and also holds a Doctorate in Ministry Leadership. You can find out more about Tim and his coaching practice at www.faithfullygrowing.com

Don’t forget to contact Dr. Tim Fortescue about the “BEING THE BELOVED” 3 Hour virtual mini Retreat scheduled for October 22nd and to learn more about his Friday Parts Mapping Group.

Listen to how these three words disorder, order and reorder can help you along your spiritual journey and how he goes from Ministry Leader to Spiritual Life Coach.

New Good-Byes are NEVER easy

New Good-Byes are NEVER easy

It's a new SEASON. A season of change and new goodbyes never being easy.

September is a time for change for everyone preparing to go from summer to fall, kids starting preschool, elementary, middle or high school, and young adults going off to college as their parents become empty nesters. It's a time of change and a different goodbye for everyone. These goodbyes never get easier and they definitely do not have a one size fits all mindset.

Today's guest, Jessica Hartwig, an Empowerment Life & Mindset Coach, will share her new goodbye, as she shares her raw, real conversation as her daughter leaves for college. She shares the preparation she took years in advance as well as weeks prior to her daughter leaving. This is a time when so many parents are saying goodbye in different ways. One may feel like it’s no big deal, just another routine or phase in life, while another may be lost, broken, confused or even frustrated. Their daily routines have changed and they may not know which direction to take.

Listen as we have a raw, real, and authentic conversation about our experiences as parents and how the new goodbyes are different for anyone at any age.

Balanced Empowerment through Physical Therapy

Balanced Empowerment through Physical Therapy

Do you need a PHYX?

Are you feeling balanced physically, mentally and beyond?

Have you ever thought physical pain could indicate there is an imbalance?

Today’s guest, Dr. Hannah Sutter-Balke, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (“PT”) and Certified Athletic Trainer who earned both of her degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, shares her “Leap of Faith” and the importance and empowerment of balance through Physical Therapy.

Our choices and taking a “Leap of Faith” can impact and transform our lives. Learn how Dr. Hannah chose the right decision that was best for her, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Her mission is to empower her community to be informed advocates for their health. She aims to educate on the importance of living a balanced lifestyle in order to age well through all stages of life.

She specializes in partnering with people who feel unheard and discouraged due to pain, injury, or poor habits to create a personalized, holistic strategy to reduce pain, reset habits, and rediscover a love for their life without sacrificing their favorite activities, foods, and people in the process. It’s all about balance!

With Dr. Hannah as their guide, clients gain an understanding about their current experience that empowers them to make the necessary changes to live without barriers - physically, mentally, and beyond.

Takeaways:

DAILY QUOTE:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ― Marianne Williamsom

Back to the Basics

Back to the Basics

What a difference WE could make TOGETHER if we were to go back to the basics of the simple key elements of saying, "Please and Thank You." Do you remember when you were young and your parents or guardian would say, “What do you say?” And your response was, “Please” or “Thank you!”

I was taught to always say please, thank you and to be kind. If we looked hard enough, we would definitely see kindness all around the world. However, unfortunately we would also see the opposite. I’ve witnessed lately the lack of respect, those kind words or even respecting someone when they are talking. Interrupt

When my children were growing up, I taught them to put their hand on my elbow, which would indicate to me while I was talking to someone else, that they had something important to share, but they knew they couldn’t interrupt me unless someone was hurt.

It sounds so easy, or even trivial, but it was something that worked for us and showed everyone respect.

We are in a world where I see people who NEED to be heard NOW; to NEED to get the results they want NOW; who NEED to understand the why NOW; and who NEED to know the process NOW.

Sometimes we just don’t NEED to know right now. Sometimes the best results happen to us when we are patient and enjoy the unfolding, and/or the process.

Remember the key elements of respect, kindness, love and patience can change everything and anyone.

If we could teach each other through our own words and actions that it doesn’t cost any amount of money to say please, thank you, and BE KIND, share kindness, then what a beautiful world we would live in.

Connect with me if you’re struggling with the basics, trying to find ways to be heard, valued or respected.

It’s time for us to stand up, get back to the basics and say PLEASE, THANK YOU, BE KIND, RESPECTFUL, LOVING, CARING and COMPASSIONATE and TOGETHER we can make this world a better place.

Please remember to SUBSCRIBE today or share with someone who needs to hear this message.

Today’s guests, Brenda Cortez and Gina Sirico, give a voice to those we lost to Covid-19. Their legacies will live on forever by their stories that are told. In this beautiful book, 19 grieving families celebrate their loved ones' lives by sharing their stories.

Voices-19:Their Legacies Live On was written to celebrate the lives of those lost to COVID-19. Those lost to this virus are not just a number or a statistic. They are our mothers and fathers, our sisters and brothers, our aunts and uncles, our grandparents, cousins, friends and even our children. It's time to humanize the numbers that you see on the news daily. Covid is real. Ask anyone of these families left behind to grieve.

These beautiful souls made a difference to the world and impacted many lives, perhaps even your life.

Everyone in the world has been affected by the pandemic but for almost 1 million families in the USA alone, their lives will never be the same, and no one will ever be back to “normal”. Together we can be the empathy and compassion for those families left behind experiencing PTSD and Prolonged Grief Disorder. So many were unable to say goodbye or to be with their loved ones as they took their last breath, due to Covid restrictions, while others had no funeral services or were able to witness their loved one’s burial. This grief is like no other.

It is my hope that this episode educates, inspires and changes your perspective to understand those that were lost to Covid-19, were not just a number, they were human beings, who have made a difference, touched our lives and are still loved and missed today. Please say their names with me!

Please join us today to hear stories of bravery, hope and inspiration.

The GIFT of an 'Open Vision'

The GIFT of an 'Open Vision'

Today's guest, Kat Hitzeman is a Coach and a leader in prophetic art, healing art and ministry. Along with her work as a professional artist in bronze casting, painting and photography, she leads prophetic art workshops, and women’s retreats. Kat is an ordained pastor and an incredible GIFT of an 'Open Vision'.

As Kat continued to heal herself, God revealed through an "Open Vision" how to create "Beauty for Ashes" from her own ashes to beauty, while helping other women. She took a leap of faith, is blessed every time she takes a step, as God continues to work in and through her. Her incredibly beautiful artwork and coaching allows her to help others through retreats and art workshops.

Kat's main focus with coaching is coaching artists to help them navigate being an artist, what that looks like for them; if they want to go pro, or if they are feeling stuck. A lot of artists get really, really stuck, and she loves helping them get unstuck. Another main focus for Kat, with coaching, is with women that are in transition. When they're at the point in their life, and wondering, "What's next?" and they have done all this, or done all of that, they are transitioning. She describes it as them being in a hallway, and sometimes that hallway can be a really dark place. And so she helps them get to the end of the hall or get to the doors that need to be opened.

Takeaways:

  • It's not an overnight thing, it's a PROCESS!
  • Art has the POWER to Heal!
  • Enjoy the Journey!
  • Just take a STEP!
  • Stay PRESENT!
  • Don't partner with comparison.

Mantra: Every time I take a step I get blessed.

Niche: Artists/Women in transition & searching for their truest most authentic self.

I AM - FASTING

I AM - FASTING

Do you believe the TRUTH of who you are?

Do you FAST?

How would you rate your Spiritual Life on a scale 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest?

What is getting in the way of deepening your Spiritual Life?

Discover some simple ways to deepen your Spiritual Life from your Host, Mary Markham.

How do you react to the "I AM" Statements you may have come across on social media? Ever wonder what the big deal about I AM Statements are?

Before “I AM” Statements were a “thing” all over social media, I AM Statements were drilled into Mary's head by her mother, who passed away 14 years ago from Pancreatic Cancer, however she still remembers those days, like it was yesterday.

Mary didn’t realize how low her self esteem was back then. For years, she had such low self esteem issues she couldn’t see anything beautiful or worthy when she looked in the mirror.

Does that sound familiar to you?

Her mother would write down "I AM Statements " on a piece of paper, and tell her to read them over and over every day. Not just read them, but BELIEVE them! “I am Beautiful, I am Holy, I am Loved, I am worthy, I am smart, I am good enough” Mary insisted she couldn’t say them because she didn’t believe them. She thought each one of those statements were lies. And, believed those lies for years.

Listen how Mary's life transformed by believing those I AM Statements and how FASTING deepened her Spiritual Life!

How might creating daily I AM Statements or FASTING change your life?

There is a WAY OUT! Redeem & Restore

There is a WAY OUT! Redeem & Restore

There is a Way Out! Today’s topic is tough, it’s not a pretty picture, easy to comprehend or understand, but when we educate ourselves, we can all help! Any one of us can use our time, talent and/or treasures to help women who have gone through Sex Trafficking. We want to help these women, who once felt rejected, lonely, desperate for love, abandoned, and shameful, to feel loved, supported and guided as they see the light of HOPE along their new journey.

Listen to today’s guest, Krista Hull share her own journey of wanting to know who she was made to be; learn what struggles she personally was battling along her journey of finding her own identity; and, how being born into a broken relationship, and abused still kept her hungry and desperate to hear what God wanted her to do. Discover how a not so good woman relationship turned Krista's life into a life changing experience helping other women.

Each day, Krista learns it's all in God’s timing, although not easy, she listens and takes steps to continue to stretch and grow herself.

Krista gives HOPE to the women who were broken, bought, and sold to feeling loved, valued and have a life of FREEDOM! God led her to being the Founder of the Redeem and Restore Center, a nonprofit organization helping women who were sex trafficked.

The Power of "PLAY"

The Power of "PLAY"

Today's guest Brandon Wetzstein has a passion for unlocking the innovation and creative potential in others. Listen to Brandon's secret behind the HOW and WHY his is so important to him.

Brandon is an insanely curious and positive person. He tends to be overly optimistic, amazingly curious and looks for the silver lining in things and loves learning new things.

Being that optimistic, curious and positive person, Brandon looks deeper to find ways to improve, save time and be efficient, especially in the workplace.

Brandon uses Design Thinking and Lego Serious Play. These powerful methodologies build deeper connections, stronger relationships and teams faster by having the right environment, tools and method where people can learn how to get out of their own way, out of their comfort zone and into their own innovative and creative side.

Just like five year olds, ask a lot of “WHY” questions and it’ll dig deeper into getting to know someone.

One of Brandon’s favorite quotes is by Plato, “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than a year of conversation.”

Reach out to Brandon and begin 2022 by learning how to find yourself, learn how to work together as a team and create a positive, innovative and successful workplace.

Not sure where you want to be in 2 or 5 years, allow Brandon to help you figure out, through this methodology and his love for strategy, as to what the most efficient way to get there is.

Takeaways:

  • Define your identity (Who are you?)
  • What are the most important values that are foundational?
  • HAVE FUN and introduce a level of “Play” into your environment and learn more about yourself and others.
  • Communication is the foundation to building a business and relationships.

It's All in Perspective!

It's All in Perspective!

It’s that time of the year when we all have different perspectives on many topics and lately there have been many questions and diverse reactions that lead me to being called to do a Podcast on Perspective.

Many people get excited about the holidays, the planning, the get-togethers, decorations and so on.  Yet, it isn’t the same for everyone. There are many people who are suffering from loss, loneliness or illness and they would rather hide than celebrate the holidays, especially with happy people.

Their internal sadness is so deep they don’t know how to feel right now.

Have you ever gone to the store, excited about what’s going on in your own life? when some stranger snaps at you, it either makes you stop and think to yourself, “What the heck is their problem?” or your empathy and compassion kick in and you realize they must be suffering something internally because you know you didn’t do anything wrong. It just so happened that your unexpected light was trying to shine into their darkness.

It’s all in perspective.

Not everyone is ready for that light because they are still processing.

Maybe the holidays in general are a constant reminder of something that happened from your past and you're struggling to be around happy people.

Maybe you’re that person who looks at someone in that big beautifully decorated house and thinks they have it all, and don’t have a clue what suffering feels like. They just might be suffering the same, they just hide it differently by filling up their time and space with “stuff”, decorations, parties, etc.

Maybe you’re that person who sees that homeless person and thinks, “Just go get a job and stop begging!” But, you don’t know their story; they may have lost their job, their family and all their belongings and don’t have the guidance of knowing what to do. Maybe the fear of asking for help dug that rabbit hole a little deeper?

It’s all in perspective.

Maybe this is your first year being separated or divorced and you don’t get to see your child(ren) on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day like you have for years?

Maybe you’re dealing with sharing your child(ren) with another person because of the separation or divorce and it’s hard?

Understanding the perspective that everyone grieves differently, deals with loss, separation, and change differently. There isn’t a right or wrong way, it just takes time. It’s all in perspective.

How we see things is our own perspective. When we judge someone, their life and their emotions, we are not seeing the situation through their eyes, only our perspective.

Have you ever thought about what a positive perspective with Hope, Faith, and love might look or feel like?

Every job is important. No matter what you do.

If you are the CEO or manager of a company, don’t forget to thank the people who have helped you become where you are. Everyone works together.

When you look at others through their perspective, you just might see a different side which may make you smile and feel joy in your heart.

If you’re a stay at home mom, don’t underestimate your position by saying, “I’m just a stay at home mom.” That is a huge responsibility in itself and can be harder than most  9 to 5 jobs.

Be grateful and thankful for every gift you are given. It’s all in perspective.

Look for the Hope through those experiences; have faith you will get through it all and love everyone from your heart, even if you have to pray for those difficult to love.

It’s all in Perspective.

Holistic Approach to Starting Over

Holistic Approach to Starting Over

Today’s guest is an amazing woman who embraces diversity. Beverly Sartain was the first born American in her family and had two immigrant parents and English was their second language. Beverly has truly transcended her life. She has gone from her own recovery, to being a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to being the President of the Holistic Coach Training Institute, where she trains aspiring coaches on coaching skills and business set-up.

The Holistic Coach Certification Program is an ICF ACSTH accredited program focusing on a holistic approach to coaching. Beverly has her PCC (Professional Certified Coach) from the ICF (International Coaching Federation) and enjoys helping professionals empower themselves around their skill set and online coaching business.

IT’S A JOURNEY NOT AN EVENT

Creating a healthy routine, being structured, and being consistent are key to having a healthy mind. Beverly suggests that you set yourself up for success by doing one thing in each of the four levels every single day. The four levels are: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual.

Keep it SIMPLE!

For example for the Mental level, do anything that supports you, your thought process and supports you mentally, like journaling affirmations or positive statements. Because Beverly didn't have those accessible inside herself, when she first started, she needed to hear other people's affirmations and words, so that she could start to feel into those words and receive those words. Then she was able to find her own words that she could say.

Another option is meditation, or just being able to be in the stillness of silence more. It’s not even that you have to meditate per se, but learning to be with your own thoughts and not attached to them as the truth. It’s a process.

Learn skills or learn the tools that work best for you. It is not a one for all method.

Bev is just like everybody else, she is on the same playing field as everyone, and states, “If I can do it, anyone can do it.” "Figure out what works best for you."

When people start a recovery healing journey, stuff comes up and is uncomfortable. It's going to be uncomfortable. But the point is to learn how to be with what's coming up. Have the learnings that are needed, and move through it. Getting to the other side of the learnings is where the magic happened for Bev. It's because she moved through all of the past stuff and learned what she needed to learn, and receive, so she could free up her mind and free up her body and free up her spirit.

Life happens and humanness happens, and people don't know how to navigate through those experiences and actually take the learnings and the soul lessons from the humanness in order to leverage their spiritual being. It’s a process Bev has gone through. She loves helping others learn how to use their mind, and consciousness to be of service; service to spirit, and create purposeful things for themselves and humanity.

TAKEAWAYS:

Be Consistent

Affirmations are important

Louise Hay’s quote: “I forgive myself and I set myself free”

LEAP OF FAITH

LEAP OF FAITH

This episode is me sharing how I took a leap of FAITH many times throughout my life and although at times it may have seemed scary and wondered initially what the heck I was doing, I knew, because of my FAITH, that everything would turn out okay.

The benefits of having faith:

  • Waking up grateful
  • Grateful for the air you breathe and everything and everyone in your life
  • Being grateful for the changing of the seasons and the joy nature brings
  • Forgiveness is healing
  • Strength to have difficult conversations
  • Acceptance of everyone without judgment
  • Knowing you are where you are meant to be
  • Being present
  • Loving yourself and those who may be difficult to love
  • Finding joy in everything
  • Being happy for others
  • Creating healthy boundaries
  • Being YOU
  • Feeling valued
  • Feeling Loved
  • Love what you do
  • Having a positive mindset
  • Having patience
  • Trusting the process
  • Having HOPE

Also, Faith is a choice. You can believe there is hope or go back to being comfortable, doing what you want when you want and hope for the best.

The stronger you become in your faith the more you will notice the enemy will try to pull you away. Challenges and struggles may pull you away but your faith is stronger and you will overcome it stronger than ever before.

Have you ever said, “WHY ME?” “WHY must I GO THROUGH THIS?”

Many times throughout my life I would say those same things, “Why me?” “Why do I have to go through this again and again?” At the time the struggle or challenge seemed too great.

Life may feel unfair, people hurt you and of course you don’t deserve it. This is an opportunity to grow in grace, focus on your faith and All the countless blessings you have been given. A time to turn away from the pain and embrace the joy in your life.

As you focus on faith, have hope, you begin to see the WHY or the transformation within.

At times the answers aren’t always easy to understand, or coming forward at the time that you want or expect. It’s because it’s a process. There is a time for everything.

A PROFOUND Read is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven;

A time to be born, and a time to die;

A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

A time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to seek, and a time to lose;

A time to keep, and a time to throw away;

A time to tear, and a time to sew;

A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate;

A time for war, and a time for peace…

Faith allows you to see and understand each season you go through.

I challenge you to have faith, or stretch your faith and trust God and the process by taking a road less traveled, open your heart to a new experience and enjoy the unfolding as your life evolves into YOU becoming the best version of yourself.

REMEMBER: FEAR is the opposite of FAITH

How would you like to live...in Fear? or in peace by having FAITH?

Contact me and let go from Fear to have FAITH so you can take that LEAP OF FAITH and be the best version of yourself!

Today’s guest, Jessica Hartwig, has a heart of gold and her genuine care for others shines through her “LIV IN VISION” business as a Holistic Concierge Life Coach. Listen to how Liv In vision serves others and how her “foster adopted” story began and changed her life forever!

Adoption took on a whole new meaning for Jessica. What began as a decision, a well thought out process, research, communication and a decision to move forward with love, Jessica and her husband adopted through foster care, their daughter who they met when she was four days old, and brought home this six day old, precious 4 lbs 7 oz gift.

When her daughter was nine years old and Jessica was complaining about something she had to do with her job, she said, “You know Mom, why don’t you work in adoptions and help other kids like you help me?”

That was the seed that needed to be planted and her research turned into a new job at a nonprofit organization called The Adoption Exchange, which later became Raised the Future.

Jessica’s love for helping others continued as a Holistic Concierge Life Coach and started a new life coaching business called “Liv In Vision” serving potential and current parents of biological, adoptive, foster, kinship children/youth and teens, as well as diverse adults.

It is Jessica’s genuine care for others that shines through her personal and professional life.

Just to name a few, her love for Mantras keep her going:

“Focus on what you desire and not what you fear.”

“When you marry intention with action, miracles happen.”

Her very best friend said that the things she dabbles in are stones. They are stones that built you and grew you into this piece of beauty that you are.

Do what is right for you to start your day. For Jessica is basically moving her body, putting incense in or essential oils in her diffuser, turning on a light she loves, making sure she eats the foods that are best for her body, using lotions she loves, writing and practicing her daily rituals.

TAKEAWAYS:

  • Focus on what you desire and not what you fear
  • When you marry intention with action, miracles happen
  • Have “Adventure Days” (get away from normal routines and all the digital stuff)
  • You’re not given a dream that you can’t achieve.

'Meh' to MAGNIFICENT

'Meh' to MAGNIFICENT

Are you DOING for everyone else? Living a secondhand life? Today’s guest, Amanda Ewin shares with Mary Markham what she thought was normal at the time, how her busy life was a life of doing for everybody else and became exhausting.

She had to ask for help. Amanda hired a coach, and interesting enough, thought the coach would help her with time management without being told, “You’re doing too much.” And, of course, immediately thought this was the wrong person to help her.

Amanda discovered she needed someone to help her look at all the things she was doing and see which ones were negotiable. She was offering to help others when she was struggling herself. If it didn’t bring her joy, she let it go. Amanda learned how to set boundaries, step down or away from the things that she felt were respected or looked at as success and being attached to her identity.

It was in this awareness that helped Amanda realize she no longer aspired to do it all and be Superwoman. She learned what was bringing her joy, how things affected her or impacted what she was doing or how she was feeling.

This empowerment led her to becoming a Lifestyle Coach and Meditation Teacher helping high-achieving women shift from ‘meh’ to magnificent in less than 90 days using a blend of hot science and fun spirituality, so they bounce out of bed in the morning.

TAKEAWAYS:

  • Magic happens outside your comfort zone
  • Take time out
  • Try something scary every day
  • Remind yourself you are where you are meant to be right now
  • It’s going to be okay
  • You have all the time you need
  • It’s all a journey
  • Change the trajectory
  • Everyone has a story

Imposter to Invincible

Imposter to Invincible

In this episode, Mary Markham’s guest, Sam Ferres, shares how she struggled with confidence her entire life. She remembers back when she was about three or four years old and actually remembers doubting herself quite a lot. What she thought was being shy and an introvert, was that she had real confidence issues and anxiety from moving to five different schools, witnessing bullying and trying to fit in.

She suffered insomnia during her teen years, which led to suffering with imposter syndrome, everyone else is better and has it all figured out. This caused her to work longer and harder, around the clock, which exacerbated the issues.

Although she was at the top of her game of high performance at the age of 25 with a six figure salary, she still believed she wasn’t good enough or as good as everybody else.

Sam’s identity crisis which she describes was attached to her job changed when she had a little boy. As her son woke up 15 to 20 minutes around the clock, she became more fatigued, depressed and anxious.

As this went on for months, his health issues became the center of her life. Listen how she journeyed through the health challenges he faced and how she drew that line in the sand and looked for the silver lining through all of the challenges her family had experienced.

TAKEAWAYS:

  • No matter where you're at right now, that doesn't need to be where you're at forever.
  • Know you can always come out of the other side of any difficult circumstance.
  • Take a minute, look at what you can do and start shifting yourself forward.
  • Take small action steps. One tiny step towards a goal builds some momentum.
  • Never stop asking questions.

From Rock Bottom to SheCAN...and Beyond

From Rock Bottom to SheCAN...and Beyond

Have you hit rock bottom, are settling for mediocre or working your life away? Or, ever thought, “I just can’t do this anymore? I just want to give up on everything, everyone and even life?” STOP RIGHT THERE! Listen to today’s guest, Sarah Liebenthal as she shares her inspiring story of going from ROCK BOTTOM to multi-preneur.

This recovering workaholic used her lowest point in life to propel her life forward into the woman she is today.

EVERY WOMAN IS MEANT TO DO SOMETHING AMAZING

For many years, Sarah thought that if she just worked a little more, achieved a little more, did a little more, and was a little more to everyone; she would finally be good enough to love herself, and be loved. She thought that she had to be everything to everyone, to be worthy of unconditional love.

Sarah was settling as a number one dispatcher and police officer and her fear of commitment and money was keeping her dream of being a lawyer, just that, a dream. She worked full time and three different part time jobs, about 110 hours a week, until she hit rock bottom.

ROCK BOTTOM to SheCAN and BEYOND…

In 2018, Sarah’s people pleasing, depression, anxiety, and inability to cope with her trauma led her down a spiral of self-sabotage, workaholism, and over-commitment, when she hit full on rock bottom.

A life changing decision was made on April 1, 2019, when Sarah committed to GROWING in her own life instead of TAKING her own life. And, she hasn’t looked back since.

"Busyness can only exist as busyness of the mind. Being busy makes it impossible to do any sort of deep work."

Sarah is a life and transformation coach who specializes in helping women who struggle with developing healthy boundaries, and in giving up the myth of busyness.

Planning and organizing events, including women’s empowerment events, is also Sarah’s specialty.

LET IT BE EASY

Make dreams come true and don’t settle. Sarah is doing what she loves as a coach, event planner and going to law school.

Be unstoppable and do what YOU are meant to do!

This incredible woman is soon to be married and mom of a blended household with two beautiful daughters, one by blood and one by love. She is from Southeastern Wisconsin.

TAKEAWAYS:

  • Don’t ever give up!
  • Let it be Easy
  • Be open to let it come to you!
  • Every Person is meant to do something amazing!
  • Don’t settle!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER BEYOND DIVORCE & MOTHERHOOD

HAPPILY EVER AFTER BEYOND DIVORCE & MOTHERHOOD

HAPPILY EVER AFTER BEYOND DIVORCE & MOTHERHOOD

Happily ever after begins today with how it is not necessary to live in the same city, nor state or even country to help reclaim independence and create a future filled with success, peace and happiness.

Today’s guest, Alice McDonald is an International Separation & Divorce Coach helping women from around the world including Australia, the USA, China, Indonesia, Canada and South Africa. She uses her experiences to empower women to move beyond divorce and motherhood with their own version of success & happiness. She works with separated or divorced women with older teens or adult children, who are ready to find themselves again, confidently reclaim their independence & create a future filled with success, peace & happiness.

Alice’s starting over journey was a “double whammy experience.”  Her marriage of 23 years came to an end at a time when her children were in their late teens, in which an unplanned future began to look like, having no idea what it would look like. Her duties changed and she went from married mum to single empty nester.

After spending time crying on the floor of the shower, trying to keep her sh*t together for her kids, Alice has come out of the other side of her divorce, happier than ever and enjoying creating her life by design. She had a clean slate and a new story to write.

Alice’s brokenness wasn’t going to be her story. She made it clear and knew she needed to get through it.

“What do I want my life to look like going forward? And how do I create that?” “Just getting through the day is really freakin hard sometimes. And you want to have those pockets of joy.” Alice knew at some point she would get through it because “People get through it.”

She wanted to be in the best position possible, rather than digging herself a deeper hole. First she sorted out the really crucial things in her life and knew it was incredibly important to build a team of people around her. Alice had already been working with a psychologist at the time and then needed to have a good physician to look after her health.

Setting a timeline for the next year or so, as she knew there would be times where she wouldn’t be able to keep her momentum for herself. She hired a coach and met with her once a month, giving her the things she wanted her to help her keep on track with. That was one of the best decisions she ever made. This kept her on track.

Alice wanted her turning point to be her success story. So she kept creating and looking for things that made her happy, really tapping into who she was as a person.

“Do something that brings you JOY!”

Dancing first thing in the morning, is what Alice does, that brings her JOY!  Another thing that brings her joy is flowers.

“I frickin love flowers.”

She began doing more and more things that make her feel happy and make her everyday happy. Because this is her life.

She lives in sunny Perth, Western Australia and has two older children - one adult son at university, a daughter just about to finish highschool and a furchild; a five year old rescue dog, Abbey.

TIPS:

  • Do something everyday that brings you JOY and makes you HAPPY!
  • Know you WILL get through this!
  • You simply start at the beginning, and you stop when you get to the end!

This act of kindness became a decision to save another woman’s life, which not only saved a life, but continues to CHANGE many lives, and may just change yours.

HELP OTHERS WITH LOVE

Brenda now has 10 publications and was inspired to write her first book, “My Mom is Having Surgery”, after her daughter centered her college entrance essay around her kidney donation and the inspiration she felt from it. Rebuilding Yourself Through Property

Rebuilding Yourself Through Property

Have you ever thought about rebuilding yourself through property? Julie Wyatt, from Perth, Australia has been on a journey of rebuilding herself. After a divorce that left her physically, emotionally and mentally broken, she went after her love for renovations, and entered a competition that changed her life. This competition took Julie from a broken life to fixing broken houses.

However, before renovating old and worn out homes into beautiful places to live, Julie began her career as a registered nurse. For about 38 years she had the opportunity to work in some isolated areas, from being a flight nurse with a Royal Flying Doctor Service, which is a remote area retrieval service, to working in hospitals.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Her renovating journey was 12 months of rebuilding her confidence, rebuilding her thought process about who she was, and what she could do. It was deep and challenging in every way, but worth it!

The unknown was challenging and when not understanding at first why she was cutting pictures out of magazines and creating a vision board, this uncertainty led to rebuilding a broken life by renovating broken property into beautiful places to live.

Julie definitely has a desire to fix the broken. Her love for renovating the old into something beautiful has generated over $1 million in profit on a part time basis. She has turned her renovations into Air BnB’s and has been featured in “Your Investment Property Magazine” and Real Estate Talk.com.au.

FIXING BROKEN HOUSE AND REBUILDING BROKEN LIVES

While every house and every person has a story, it's all about how you recoup and move on. The basics and principles are the same. You need to declutter from the inside out. It’s not just renovating property, but changing your mindset as well.

When teaching someone about renovations, it's always the nuts and bolts of renovating and how to do this and how to do that. But it's really more about mindset, and how you actually teach someone how to do this, is by not losing sight of what it is that you need to do.

Julie thinks one thing COVID has taught us right, is that we don't have to be hamstrung by where we are. You can do anything. You can coach virtually, and look at someone's house and get a pretty good idea what their house looks like, even though it might be in a different country.

Don’t let the distance stop you from reaching out to Julie. The basics and the principles of renovating remain the same and seeing it virtually is no problem at all.

TIPS:

  • Never give up
  • Hire a Mentor
  • Rebuild yourself
  • There is ALWAYS another way!

Uncovering your Purpose after Pregnancy Loss

Uncovering your Purpose after Pregnancy Loss

Have you ever lost a baby or child with little or no support? Today’s guest, Sharna Southan is a Soulprenuer, which is a Soulful Entrepreneur helping women through pregnancy loss and women who want to be in control of their finances, happiness, time and their future.

After suffering her own pregnancy loss and finding no support for herself, she began to research, and learn about self healing. She became a Life Coach, NLP Practitioner & Self Healing Spiral Practitioner before starting the Institute of Healing through Pregnancy Loss in 2020.

Sharna is unstoppable! As she continued to bring joy to other women after their loss, she stepped into a teaching role. She now teaches other women, who have a new purpose after loss and want to create values aligned for themselves through her Signature Pregnancy Loss System & Soulful Business Model.

By teaching other women through her program, there is more support for women all over the world. No one should ever feel like they are alone in this process nor feel they have to suffer in silence.

YOU’RE NOT MOVING ON YOU’RE MOVING FORWARD

By staying in grief some women feel like that is their way to remember their loved one, their little baby. But, by moving forward with their life, they are able to honor their little one so much more. Memories will be so much more beautiful. They won't be clouded in grief and sadness. They would be able to look back on and with so much more happiness. Allow yourself that space to feel what you need to feel but know that you're not going to be moving on, you’re moving forward.

YOU’LL NEVER FORGET

The one thing that gave Sharna peace was saying the “Serenity Prayer” every day in the morning and nighttime. It gave her permission to forget everything else and focus on herself.

THE PRIVILEGE OF A LIFETIME IS BEING WHO YOU ARE

The message she wants to leave: She is stepping outside the box and building more leaders in a space where her vulnerability and experiences fuel her mission.

BE WHERE YOU ARE

TIPS:

Allow yourself to have time with yourself

Spend time with yourself and ask yourself what feeling you’re experiencing

Slow down and sit with yourself

You’ll never forget

Sit in meditation

Journal your thoughts to get all emotions out of your head

There is no timeframe for grieving

FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!

FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!

Today’s guest, Terri Pilawa was on top of the world. She had a great job, an amazing son, met her husband and was in the best shape of her life. Everything was going well until she felt like she was suffocating and couldn’t breath. Terri was in denial and couldn’t believe this was happening to her.

After suffering from a misdiagnosis of adult asthma for 5 years and many trips to the emergency room, Terri was diagnosed with NSIP Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2012. After days, months, years of not knowing if and when she would survive, she believed that “Giving up is too easy” and fought the good fight for her life.

KEEP FAITH ~ KEEP FIGHTING

Terri shares her starting over again and again journey as she fought for her life to the end. Hear the incredible details of how she felt like she was drowning or suffocating daily, and hung on until the end, begging for lungs.

ONE LIFE FOR ANOTHER

Just when she thought her life was coming to an end, having her DNR (Do not Resuscitate) in order, and having trouble breathing when responding to the nurse, “I need my lungs!” "I NEED MY LUNGS!" Shortly thereafter that night, on June 24, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. her doctor called and said she had lungs for her, not a perfect situation, but had lungs for Terri.

The celebration of yelling and cheers were put on hold as she was too weak and getting too excited would use too much of her limited supply of oxygen. By midnight her donor was off the use of a ventilator support and by 3:00 a.m. the journey of a 13 hr surgery, Terri was getting lungs.

What became a tragic end of a life for one family, was a gift of life for another. Terri was fortunate enough to meet her donor’s family and hear how her Donor, Maria Quinteros, a 22 year old woman, said, “YES” to being a donor, saved Terri’s life and now lives inside her, celebrating the gift of life every single day.

Terri is truly blessed and grateful for her second chance of life.

Starting Again and again and again...

Starting Again and again and again...

Have you ever said to yourself, “Here I go AGAIN!” Or, asked yourself, “How many times must I start over again?” Today’s guest describes her “Starting Over” as really “Starting Again and again and again” journey.

Christine Bannister’s journey to excellence has been fueled by challenges. After a rough divorce, single parenting and working in the 911 environment where traumatic events were commonplace, and a subsequent run-in with PTSD; she solidified her calling to bravely meet people in their chaos.

Her busy life can create a busy mindset, so she begins by sharing how she prepares her day to stay focused for the unknown busyness ahead of her.

STARTING AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

Christine doesn’t waste any time digging deep as she shares how starting over can be a decision one day, and a new journey the next. It can also be a marathon of small little steps, like just doing the next right thing today, because it's all you can do. She feels blessed to have all of those starting overs in her life. In her early 20’s, she had a great career and ended up meeting a man, getting married and having two children. Unfortunately, there were a lot of challenges that ravaged her marriage, and it quickly came to an end. So in that space of not only starting over as a married woman, and a mother, she then subsequently had to start over as a single mom, and a divorced woman. And just dealt with a lot of challenges and emotions in that space.

GROW, LEARN and EVOLVE

Christine changed and grew as her life became very different than it was. She found herself in the space of starting over again, a beautiful new season, as she puts it. Starting over as a family, a new business and about to launch her Courage life coaching business, “Christine Jean Coaching.” She shares how God is opening doors and using her to speak truth and life into people.

Not only are new opportunities coming forward for her business, but after not dating for a very long time, she is now in her 40’s and starting over with love, and trying to figure that out again.

She balances life by prioritizing her faith, single parenting her two teenagers- Chloe and Eagan, spending time in her garden, and building a life and an empire with her partner, Aaron.

Looking for a Courage Coach? Contact Christine and mention you heard her on this podcast and she will offer a discount for her coaching services.

Christine is humble and adds there is no competition here between us as coaches. What is important is that you talk with a coach who resonates with you and your journey. It’s about helping each other through our own stories, life experiences and knowledge.

You can find Christine on FB, Tik-Tok, or Insta @Christine Jean Coaching.

Rising Brave

Rising Brave

What does the term Rising Brave mean to you? Are you ready for Bravery and being Confident enough to take on the World?

The World is never too big to connect and technology continues to bring us together, one story at a time. Today’s guest, Gretel Jane is a Separation Coach and Trauma Therapist and shares her story all the way from Australia. Gretel Jane helps newly separated women navigate the confusion, stress and drama of separation so they can move past the pain, overwhelming and frustrating feeling to feel calm, confident and in control of a life they truly love.

Sometimes we have to be the student before becoming the best teacher.

Once Gretel Jane became aware of the domestic violent cycle she was living, survival mode kicked in and what was really painful at times, turned into a beautiful journey. She realized she was trying to make everything okay, and keep things calm for the kids, and not wanting to leave because of not wanting her children to come from a broken family.

Can you relate? Or do you know someone in that situation?

“Seek out support!”

She finally started to realize, “Hang on a minute they deserve and so to I, to live in a calm, happy household that doesn't have this level of stress.”

While not 100% aware, yet very numb and very much in survival mode, she knew something had to change!

Just one more violent episode and she was done! She packed up as much stuff as she could to get into the car and drove away, reminding herself, “I need to go, I need to go, I need to go!”

Gretel Jane discovered how to be brave herself after a 12 year abusive marriage. She knows the importance of the various stages a woman goes through after such abuse; Survival, Healing and Planning, thus the reason why she is so passionate about helping other separated and abused women.

Her life experiences and education has allowed her to create a three-stage Separation Triage Formula which resulted in “Rising Brave” being born. Her formula heals emotional pain, helps clients move out of self-doubt and reclaims their self-confidence and self-esteem leaving them stronger, more confident and ready to take on the world.

Listen to Gretel Jane share the details of the Triage Stages Formula.

“The wound is where the light enters you.”

She loves watching her clients develop resilience, be empowered and be the sun, even on a cloudy day.

“It’s the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind, that determines which way we will go.”

Tips:

  1. Focus on Being than Doing
  2. Move your body
  3. Own and embrace what you feel

Take-aways:

  1. Truth is we are all a beautiful SUN!
  2. Focus on what’s inside of you
  3. You Can Do It!
  4. It IS Possible!

Love is the Answer

Love is the Answer

Are you feeling unloved? By the end of this episode you will definitely know YOU ARE LOVED!

Maybe you heard this incredible LOVE story on CNN or on a radio show or social media. If not, you will know that LOVE is the Answer and will feel loved by the end of this episode.

Today's guest is an amazing 35 year old woman spreading LOVE around the world. This incredible woman is April DiDonna and her story is known worldwide.

“Touch Someone's Heart Today”

Her goal is to touch someone’s heart everyday by telling them they are loved. What would you do if you walked into a Wendy’s restaurant and the manager took your order and said simply, “I love you?” How would you react? Would it make you smile? Feel loved? Listen how April heals lonely hearts by sharing love.

But first, there is the back story. April believes everything happens for a reason. She shares how a dream became her living nightmare and the impossible became possible.

April was looking for what she thought was, “Lost Hope.” She had been abused, mentally, physically, emotionally, and lost her husband to an addiction.

When April couldn’t find the answers she needed, she turned to her brother James. His advice was, “Love is the answer. And love is going to lead the way.”

What her brother James, honestly believes, is that if we live through love, if we spread love, the world would be better. That's what April believes as well as, “If we just love each other, love your friend, and love your neighbor, all you need is love. They write songs about it all the time.”

April also believes, “If people can hate for no reason, Why can't I love?”

While spreading love and sharing her positive attitude at Wendy's, where she works as a Manager,  her hard work and love for others did not go unnoticed.  Listen who she met and what she received.

April's truth and what she says, "I will continue spreading love, living through love, be love. I am love."

Her love started by growing up with selfless parents.  Her mom and my dad believed family is not just blood. “Be there for everybody!” her parents would say.

Reach out to people in need

Giving back is also another strength of April's. She takes care of her three boys, her parents and gives back to her community in many ways.

Those who help others keep helping others. Island Angels will be receiving 50% of April’s T-Shirt project to help those in need.

T-Shirt’s will say: I love you, you are loved, you matter, you do you, I love you."  April DiDonna.

Listen to April’s brother, James Pfaff, who plays gong on YouTube, and is an inspiration to her.

Freedom of the Soul

Freedom of the Soul

Today’s guest, Mary Brook is a passionate self development coach, mentor and facilitator helping older adults age well, stay connected and participate in life-long learning. She retired from a career of community counseling and put her professional and personal experience to work by supporting others whose desire is to live vitally into their later years. As a woman in long-term recovery from substance addiction, she has a special place in her heart for those with similar stories who want to continue the good life, in new ways.

Have you ever heard that voice inside say to you, “It’s Time?”

Today’s guest, Mary Brook, shares her “It was Time” story about freedom, bravery and starting over at 59 years old.

Bravery begins when you go from certainty to uncertainty and allow your Faith and Spiritual practices guide you along the way.

Mary went from living in the city for 40 years, a 20 year marriage that ended and learned how a 12 Step lifestyle would help change her life for the better.

“Let It Happen”

Mary begins her day with a morning breathing meditation that gets her going and lasts 15 minutes. If needed, she may do it twice a day, but every morning for sure.

Her starting over journey began living in the city, Denver, for two years. And a big part of that was that she was aware she was a country girl living in the city. Then she got married and adapted to the city much better. She married a city guy and forgot how much of a country girl she really was, living in the city. When that love story ended, she was 54 and realized she was free to think about what was next.

After a few years, she started getting strong sensory signs that it was time to go. Her thinking was aligned with that, and she was really connected to land and big birds. There were two kinds of birds, pelicans and owls, that visited her at times when her soul and spirit were open.

It enriched her life to know that there are allies out in the world that help her make decisions and stay in touch with her soul, as it can get confusing making these decisions.

This city girl for 40 years needed wide open spaces.

Doing something she had never done before, she packed a 16 foot U-haul truck, with everything she owned, being a bit of a minimalist, and put her car on a bed behind it. The time came for her to drive out of Denver and drive cross country. Although it was a joyous time, she grieved the life she just left. Basically, she left all her friends, much history, a couple college degrees, a marriage of 20 years and headed to her home state of Oregon.

It was the land of open spaces, mountains, rivers, that she was going to and without any doubt, knew she would love it. What she didn't know was what she was going to do when she got there. Her faith, and the spiritual energy that was aligning with her, gave her the confidence she needed to move forward no matter what!

“If I do my BEST, everything will be okay!”

Takeaways:

  • Freedom from substances creates Freedom of the Soul
  • When you do your best, everything will be okay.
  • Don't be afraid of life!

TIPS

  • Stay connected with spirit-minded people
  • Get help if you feel paralyzed
  • Don’t give up!
  • Do it Anyway!

Follow Your Heart and the Money Will Come

Follow Your Heart and the Money Will Come

Are you questioning if you’re in the right job or heading down the right career path? If you answered yes, you won’t want to miss this career coaching inspiration from today’s guest Shay Perry.

Shay is the owner of Harmony Dreams Coaching and a Career Coach, helping women who are starting over in their careers.

Studying psychology in college, planted the seed of how passionate she is about helping other people. However, she also learned how being in the wrong job only left her drained and despaired, despite the abundance of money and prestige her job had as a restaurant manager.

Was it worth it?

Shay had status, money, prestige, and was getting kudos from her family and colleagues. But it did not satisfy something deep on the inside. She was miserable. And it didn’t matter that she was really good at the work and knew she was good at it, but there was a sense of satisfaction that came when you're good at something, and it was good Money and all the trappings of what a person should want. But I knew it wasn't for me, absolutely knew it wasn't for me, it was draining me to get up every day.

“Follow your heart and the money will come”

Shay followed her heart and is a career calling coach or a career transition coach. She works mostly with women, and helps women identify what their calling is, within their career. Typically, it's women who feel very dissatisfied and drained by their current work, and help them identify the path that will light them up from the inside out. Shay believes it's possible for us to have work that fulfills us that brings joy and happiness to our lives. And believes that when we don't have that, it has repercussions in so many areas of our lives, not just our jobs, but segues into our families and to our communities, our relationships with our friends, and our energy levels for time outside of work.

She has experienced all facets of struggles that can come with contemplating a new career direction.

And also knows that there is no greater joy than that which comes from spending the biggest block of time we have each week, at work, in alignment with who we truly are: our gifts, our passions, our talents, our interests. And for that reason, today Shay delights in helping other women overcome the struggles, both inner and outer, associated with changing careers, so that they too can experience the joy that comes from living in harmony with the calling of our hearts.

“Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

Shay honestly believes that if we follow our hearts, the money will come. And in a lot of situations, She has seen way more money come than people would imagine; you just haven't explored the opportunities.

A lot of times we hear as kids like, “Oh, you can't make any money at art, you can't make any money in that field or this field. So you just squash that dream. And you don't even give it any energy because you think you can't, but you've never explored the ways that you can. And it's amazing once people start to give themselves permission to explore those things, it becomes possible.

Takeaways:

  • “As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” Quote by Marianne Williamson
  • Be part of a chain reaction by lighting each other up one person at a time.
  • It’s never too late to have joy in your career

TIPS

  • Slow down
  • Take stock in what you want to do
  • Create an action plan

Starting Over in a Second Childhood

Starting Over in a Second Childhood

How do you start your day? Today’s guest Cybele Botran’s daily must do is  “BREATH WORK.” She takes long, luxurious breaths through her nose, holds for four counts and exhales for eight. This process brings her into the present moment. She also uses this process early in the morning and to help her fall asleep at night.

Her starting over journey began when she stopped drinking alcohol in 2011, and in 2018, started inner child work. So her start over, in essence, had been like having a second childhood.

Have you ever considered understanding and deepening your connection with your inner childhood? Cybele shares the importance of how deepening her inner child work has not only helped in her own relationship but in others as well.

Listen how she meets her needs for safety, belonging and love, which we all long for.

Having a second childhood is about reconnecting to your inner child, and kind of giving her a chance to develop in a safe and protected way. Which means, inner child work is a deep inner work process where you slowly make contact with your inner child. And inner child work is a very powerful way to meet your needs for safety, love, and belonging.

When she talks about her inner child, it's the part of herself that developed during  her childhood. It's when she formed her core or even subconscious beliefs, emotions, fears, things that trigger her. It's really a process about getting so attuned to what's really going on inside and attending to yourself.

Inner child work is very transformative and powerful. However, it is a slow process that can take months to learn. Cybele shares how interacting in her adult life was triggered by situations, people in relationships from subconscious or core beliefs that had developed in her childhood. And even when knowing our parents were doing the best job that they could with the tools they had, we might have experienced a sense of an abandonment in childhood that we coped with, by changing our behavior in order to get our needs met. It's again a slow process, but it’s very worth it.

“Self love is truly the most important tool towards healing.”

TIPS:

  • Start slowly and be really gentle with yourself. This is about cultivating compassion.
  • You are allowed to listen to yourself and your feelings are valid. So just start slowly to listen to what's going on inside of you, and to know that all your feelings, there's not good feelings or bad feelings, but all your feelings are valid.
  • You don't have to be good. And what I mean by that is there's a beautiful poem by Mary Oliver called Wild Geese,

“You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves.”
