Ep.47 Repurposing Left Overs
I decided to record this weeks episode while I was meal planning, and I really wanted to share this with you because a couple days prior it was Easter and we had a BBQ at mums and in true ethnic style there was a loaded amount of left overs. I don't know about you guys but when I eat BBQ I kinda want to have a bit of break from eating the same thing over and over but I also do not like wasting food. So I sat down with you and filmed my process on how I incorporated left overs in creating other amazing dishes that wouldn't have me feeling like I was eating the same thing day in day out for days.  In this episode I share: ⚫️How I repurpose left overs ⚫️flavour combo's ⚫️tips to reduce waste  ⚫️time saving tips ⚫️marinade inspiration  For anyone wanting to make my one tray bake tomato sauce as mentioned in the episode, you can find the recipe in this clip 👇🏼 https://www.instagram.com/p/CYs-PZOtSrE/ You can find me over on the gram at @rossanos.casa  You can also join the FREE FB community group "The Woo In Food" https://www.facebook.com/groups/wooinfood Have a look at some of my free recipes here: 👇🏼 https://rossanoscasa.com/blogs/recipes/tagged/recipe And of course my latest book as a few one pan wonders in them here 👇🏼 https://rossanoscasa.com/collections/all

Home Is Where The Foods At PART TWO with Monica Lopera Nassar
Home is where the foods at.... Whether that is around the table with your families, or with like minded working women, or with your friends! Now more than ever we are craving connection whether that be online or in real (when will this shit show end?)  Cooking sometimes feels like is is an afterthought... You once had this passion to make a dish you saw somewhere that you knew would taste amazing yet time has taken that spark away, that trying to please the whole families palate has dulled that moment (when will you just eat what I cook, seriously?) This weeks part two episode  "Habits screw your meals part two" with the lovely Monica from @calibrateyourwellness and we discuss topics around community and how we learn from one another, we touch base on culling and clearing, strategies on cooking to get you out of that lull, finding help to make you feel like a bad ass in certain aspects of your life whether this is with a coach, a friend, or even a meal subscription (hey hey I'm your girl hehe)  Like all guests I ask Monica if she could share a great CBF meal and recipe and she unlike other guest shared a great breakfast recipe! A pancake recipe, so no need to buy that shit in a bottle because this one is an easy one! Habits That Screw Your Meals PART ONE with Monica Lopera Nassar
Is food and meals part of your home culture? In the busy fast past life we all seem to be living do you have something like food or meal time as your main family lighthouse or anchor, the thing that brings you together (even if it feels like a battle sometimes) to talk about your day? even if most of the conversation is a bargain plea to have the kids eat the freaking dish that sent you to borderline have a melt down?  Meal time can be simplified.... Yup shock horror you heard me... It can because get this... All you have to do is make it effing easy. Make dishes that you know are quick, easy, simple and ideally a crowd pleaser even if this seems you need to call in all the unicorn forces to achieve this.... (You know my cucina planner can help you with this right?)  This week is part one of a two part episode "Habits screw your meals part one" with Monica from @calibrateyourwellness (because we could talk till the cows come home) and we start discussing how our habits can be screwing shit up in your households. We also talk about struggles with our identity, our health and wellness, giving all the things to everyone and not filling our own cup both nutritionally (hello eating the kids toast crusts) and emotionally. Slow Cookers Save Lives with Daniella Mendicino
When we think of some dishes we love to cook that often where made by our families, you know those recipes that have been handed down and give us all the feels when we cook and eat them with our families and friends.... We don't often get a chance to make them as they can be a labour of love and lest say effing time consuming which we don't have much to spare. Especially if these dishes require time in the oven or stove simmering.  Labour of love meals can be done with ease in a slow cooker..... Or a pressure cooker... Or heck even a multi cooker without having you feel like a flustered hot mess! what if you mastered one of (or all if that's your jam) these appliances and it made your life easier? This week I chat on the podcast titled "Slow cookers save lives" with the ever so lovely Danie from @cookingwithdanie all things slower cooker vs traditional stove and oven cooking. We thought we would bring our forces, brain, knowledge and heritage to the show and discuss meals that can be done in the slow cooker, and we drop some amazing tips and tricks that we hope you will be able to implement into your cooking and kitchen to really nail the art of the slow cooking.  Of course like all my guests I asked Danie to share an amazing CBF go to meal she makes and she was so kind to suggest her favourite quick and easy  Rana four cheese ravioli that you can get at most supermarkets, Served with a cherry tomato sauce, where you cook down the tomatoes with lots of garlic and topped with parmesan - it is the best! I have shared this on my IG feed and Danie has this plus many more of her recipes saved on her highlights.  So please go ahead and make it for you and your families and we would love to see your remakes. How to be different with Patty Dominguez
Ever felt you had to be someone else? You had to be a certain way, cook certain meals, wear certain clothes, talk and show up a certain way to be accepted, to define you, to be taken serious... Pfft what a load of shit hey? You are different just by being you. You're not the first or last one to cook a certain dish, to work in your industry and sell a program, to be a working mum that has a side business and juggling all the balls..... Point is there is room for everyone even if you do not see or believe it...  Showing up and being you no matter what you love to eat, preach, speak, watch, or hang out is all the things that make you unique. We humans love to complicate things and it doesn't have to be that way.  This week's podcast episode "How to be different" I had the honour to be guest on my very own mentor's show @pattydominguez_ positioning to profit. We chat all things standing out of the crowd, how being you is being different, why some of us connect with certain people online, what makes you unique, how authenticity is craved now more than ever, being in a community with like minded people makes you feel at home.  When creating recipes for you in my monthly Cucina planner it is so important to incorporate recipes that have homage to my cultures (yes there is a few there haha) but when you cook these meals they will make you feel like a a warm hug.  You can also join the FREE FB community group "The Woo In Food" here  If you're feeling like a flustered hot mess thinking wtf to cook for weeknight dinners my monthly Cucina meal subscription can help you by taking the thinking and overwhelm out of weeknight meals and re ignite that love and passion for cooking with a twist of my multi heritage here

Ready is a lie with Simon Love
Ever caught yourself saying, I will do this when I get this, I will cook dinner regularly when I get more organised, I will show up in my business when I get more confident... The list goes on.... We wish we would be able to be like other working women who seem to be able to juggle it all, we feel we need to know how to be able to make the decision whether something is worth taking a risk or giving a go.... The truth is ready is a lie..... That's right, when were you ever ready to do something uncomfortable even though you know you will only flourish if you actually did? Cooking from scratch doesn't have to be hard... It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be fancy, you can drop the guilt with frequent take out for dinner. Dinner can be simple, using good quality ingredients, reaching out to ask for help to get the habit rolling, help with planning, motivation to get you out of that rut and lull, add a touch of forward thinking and start batch cooking and freezing portions off for later dates when we are having one of those days.... This weeks episode "ready is a lie" I have the magnificent Simon Love from @bagtobowl join me discussing our passion in food, the importance of education, supporting small, community, authenticity,  being raw and honest with our business and how sometimes this gig can be challenging, long, hard, but with consistency, persistence and patience a community is built and so is a business.  Simon has given his amazing go to easy sheet pasta recipe for you to make for you and your families and can be found on my IG page @rossanos.casa You can also join the FREE FB community group "The Woo In Food" here If you're feeling like a flustered hot mess thinking wtf to cook for weeknight dinners my monthly Cucina meal subscription can help you by taking the thinking and overwhelm out of weeknight meals and re ignite that love and passion for cooking with a twist of my multi heritage here

how to run the week and not have the week run you
Those weeks that just flow shit hey... It starts off with one little thing and then BOOM the rest of the week can just burn up into flames. Half assed dinners because I mean it's not a priority as much as staying oxygenated. Our mate Sharon (aka dirty washing) doesn't give us a break as she is needy AF and doesn't pull her weight in packing up after herself, meetings, appointments if there is a sick kid in tow (secretly rather that than a sick husband with man flu) and before you know it you are searching for "SOS housekeepers" on airtasker.  The week doesn't have to run you especially when shit hits the fan. I mean look if were being honest it may still 1% but you also wont be needing a hair transplant after the hair loss from loosing your shit. This is where my Cucina Planner came to life.... From being in that place....  This weeks solo episode is all about little tips on what I implemented into my weeks to ensure I am focused and in flow. When weeks get tough here and there yes I have a cry but I also work around my tasks. It has made a big difference by being consistent and persistent in some areas like meal planning and forward thinking. I love to cook and by not overwhelming myself with meals that don't serve my schedule on certain days was a big change I also made. Mapping my week with what is going on also gave me clarity on when to do what on. Giving myself weekly goals/tasks that were achievable and manageable was another change. Giving myself grace for where I am in my stage of home/work juggle and not getting too ahead of myself was something that facilitated in these weekly tasks, because "when I get there" doesn't exist. I love to cook and I know a lot of you who follow me do too, the spark has just fizzled because of the thinking and time battle (bastard) I have taken that away in my monthly Cucina planner, you just shop the list and cook away. There are options in there for those fussy AF family members, you can cook the meals on what days suit your schedule, but most importantly you will enjoy it again because you haven't wasted your day in and out of supermarket aisles, juggling, thinking, sitting in traffic and being snack bitch.  You can also join my FREE FB community group "The Woo In Food" here If you're feeling like a flustered hot mess thinking wtf to cook for weeknight dinners my monthly Cucina meal subscription can help you by taking the thinking and overwhelm out of weeknight meals and re ignite that love of cooking here

Why Procrastinating Is Affecting your Week Flow
There has to be an area in your life whether it is business, home, relationship, friendship that procrastination shows up, if not 173405 times at least once here and there. As working women we so often experience this, sometimes it shows up in other ways, you know distracting ways.... Ooooo let me change the colour of my logo, let me change my bio or template, I need to re take this photo, i'll make suer next week I am more organised and do a bigger shop, I will bulk make meals so I don't have to always be stressed around meal times, i'll mop the floors because they're dirty rather than working on income generating tasks because that's more important.... Procrastination is commonly fear based, fear of failure, rejection, wasting time blah blah.... many of times it can be due to lack of clarity in ones self, whether it be in our career, rel'ship, our freaking identity? Want to chase our dreams but also mum and having to juggle all the balls. Procrastination doesn't have to own you or your week.... I'm all for chasing those dream, and I found by placing some systems in my house life juggle like meal planning it lifted a world of stress in the "wtf should I cook dilemma" out of my daily life giving me back TIME! Time to focus and get shit done.... But also I love to cook and enjoy that time in the kitchen, that spark fizzled when my procrastination kicked in and i'm here to say it came back just by some forward thinking in place.  This week I have a beautiful guest Karen Turpin. She is known as the "unstuck coach" helping Spiritually Minded Entrepreneurs and Women who are ready to breakthrough their abundance blocks so that they can become authentically aligned to their passion and purpose. We discussed all things on procrastination, clarity and how they may show up in your life.  As always I ask my guests for their go to CBF meal and Karens was her bun less abundance burgers with sweet potato fries.... yuummmm I'll share the recipe over on IG and my FB group for you to make and share. Is clutter bogging you down?
Do you feel there is some parts of the house that has you feeling overwhelmed? Or it has got to that point that there is this pile of shit, unknown or unlabelled shit that you have avoided de cluttering for 23628years but it now part of the facade and vibe of the house. I feel there are just some things that I need organised to help with my flow, my living, my freaking mental health for gods sake. Imma tell you the pantry is the main zone. Looking at Pinterest and IG perfect pantry make overs does not have to make you feel like a sour coffee with burnt milk (omg anything worse first thing in the morning?) At one stage I had a neat but disorganised pantry, and while it "worked" it didn't because I found it was becoming hard to keep track of inventory. I would have double and sadly sometimes triple of certain items because I just didn't know I had them. I also do not have the grace of a walk in pantry (one day I will dammit) so it was time for a big purge and clean up. No longer was I to have the cupboard like the mm's ad where the chic would open the door and shit would fly at her face. This weeks episode I discuss all things culling, sorting, grouping, and of course some red hot tips around how I organised my pantry. I have given you the challenge to organise yours to suit YOU and YOUR way of living and cooking. It's a shit job, just as shit as tidying up the kids wardrobes (that shit needs a months mental prep prior to getting into it) But I assure you once done it is done and it will help you get that groove back on in cooking and help spark that creativity in cooking up meals.

Are Diets Bullocks?
Good old diets hey... I'm sure at some point of our lives we have experienced some sort of diet phase. One that will make us less bloated, more energised, assists us in eating more frequently, one that helps busy mums who often forget to eat anything other than left over cereal from our kids bowl, carb free, sugar free, dairy free...... I feel this list can go on and on and on and on...... This weeks episode I have my first ever guest Kim Caruk from @deliciously.keto and you're probably wondering, Marylin, you and a keto coach? really? BUT I assure you we share so many wonderful core values about food, mindful eating, cooking from scratch, making it easy and not overwhelming ourselves with labels, not focusing on all that we shouldn't eat but more what we can and ways to make a meal adaptable to our families whilst still being delicious.... Eating to make us feel good doesn't have to be hard, overwhelming or disgusting... We def discuss this point in particular! I have decided to end each podcast episode that I have a guest on by asking them for a go to CBF crowd pleaser meal that they whip up! This week is all about the taco bowls. Delicious mince that has spices added to it like ground cumin, paprika, coriander, garlic, onion, oregano with optional chilli, give it a cook and pop into a bowl served with a bunch of sides that you and your family love. My choice is rice, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, shredded cheese, pickles, Spanish onion, capsicum, corn and big fat dollop of homemade guacamole. Easy, and everyone can choose what they love without complaining.  You can find Kim on IG here and online here  You can also join my FREE FB community group "The Woo In Food" here If you're feeling like a flustered hot mess thinking wtf to cook for weeknight dinners my monthly Cucina meal subscription can help you by taking the thinking and overwhelm out of weeknight meals and re ignite that love of cooking here
