The 3 Types of Internships with Daniel Botero Ep. 63

One of the best ways to build the skills to land your dream job is to take part in Internships. To me there are three types of internships: discovery internships, experience internships, and foot in the door internships. When I work with students I challenge them to figure out the goal of their internship. What do you want to gain from that experience? Are you choosing an internship to discover if you want to go into that industry? Are you choosing an internship because you are looking to gain more experience and build up your skills to help you become the ideal candidate? Do you want to do an internship with that particular company because that is the company that you want to work for after graduation?
In this episode of the podcast I talk about the three types of internships and share my personal experiences. This is a great episode to listen to if you are a student and you are getting ready to start your summer internship!

Ep. 24: Overcoming Adversity with Frank Gonzalez

Ep. 24: Overcoming Adversity with Frank Gonzalez

In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Frank Gonzalez, a student at the University of Central Florida. Frank much like myself, is a first generation student and we talk a lot in this episode about being a first generation student and what comes along with that. He shares many of the struggles he faced growing up including being undocumented until he was 19 years old, his journey and how his mindset has changed over the years since beginning college, and the benefit of facing so much adversity throughout his life. I really enjoyed this episode with Frank, it makes me extremely happy to see a mentee of mine doing so well and I have no doubt that he will succeed in anything he does.
