Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 53: Speaker, TV, Radio and Podcast Host, Teresa Snider

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 53: Speaker, TV, Radio and Podcast Host, Teresa Snider

My passion is being a Global Mastermind Leader. It allows me to work with like-minded people with a good heart and soul. We collaborate on a variety of business ideas and help the group as a whole to solve the current concerns or problems they are facing. I worked for Interim Healthcare for four years. The company was adding home hospice to their already successful home health division and needed someone with compassion, knowledge and a wide variety of contacts in the medical community. I have helped change the perception of home hospice and demonstrated to medical professionals, families and patients the benefits of hospice for those in need. While I worked at Pfizer, I completed many levels of professional training, launched several new products, served as a guest trainer for new hires, mentored many new hires and college students completing an internship, etc. I have won several sales awards, been a team leader at a local and area level and initiated new ideas and concepts at sales meetings. My goal is to look for opportunities in the ever-changing job market. Specialties: I am known amongst fellow sales respresentatives for my creativity.

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 51: College Football Coach, Author and MS Warrior, Frank Hickson

Frank Hickson brings over 30 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Flames' football coaching staff, including 11 years at the NCAA Division I-A level and 16 years as a running backs coach, the same position he oversaw as a part of the Flames' football program.
Since joining the Flames' program, Hickson has continued the running back tradition at Liberty. He aided in the Flames finishing the 2004 season ranked 22nd in the nation in rushing (212.2 yards per game). He helped Dre Barnes finish as the school's all-time leading rushing in 2004 with 4,035 yards.
Hickson was also instrumental in helping guide Liberty's newest "rising star" and current member of the Houston Texans, Samkon Gado, during his senior campaign, and Eugene Goodman of the AFL's Columbus Destroyers. In 2005, Hickson helped running back Zach Terrell become Liberty's first-ever Big South Rookie of the Year.
Hickson instructed one of the best running back tandems in program history. Rashad Jennings became the sixth running back in school history to surpass the 1,000-yard mark, helping Liberty rank 19th nationally in rushing yards (195.0 per game). Jennings and Terrell both reached double figures in rushing touchdowns, becoming the second rushing pair to accomplish the feat since 1973.
Prior to his time at Liberty, Hickson's served a two-year stint at Oklahoma State as the running backs coach during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. During his time at Oklahoma State, he instructed All-Big 12 running backs Reggie White and Tatem Bell, who is now with the Detroit Lions, while also instructing Tim Burrows, who signed a contract with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.
In 1998, Hickson was the head coach at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. During the 1996 and 1997 seasons, he served as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at North Texas where he helped the Mean Green post victories over Utah State and in-state rival Texas Tech in 1997. He also coached Juqua Wilburn, North Texas' all-time leading rusher.
Hickson had a memorable stay at South Carolina for two years (1994 and 1995). He was part of the first Gamecock program to post a victory in a bowl game when South Carolina defeated West Virginia in the 1994 Blockbuster/National Car Rental Bowl game on New Year's Day. While at South Carolina, Hickson was responsible for the coaching of four NFL running backs in the Arizona Cardinals' Troy Hambrick, Pittsburgh Steelers' Duce Staley and former Cincinnati Bengal Brandon Bennett and former Chicago Bear Stanley Pritchett.
Hickson also served as the running backs coach for four years at the United States Naval Academy (1990-93), one year at Temple (1989), three years at Marshall (1986-88), one year at Mesa State College (1985) and two years as a graduate assistant at Wichita State (1983-84), while earning his master's degree in education.
While at the Naval Academy, Hickson recruited quarterback Chris McCoy, a Heisman Trophy candidate, and defensive back Chris Hart, who are both members of the Hall of Fame at the Naval Academy.
While at Marshall, Hickson helped the Thundering Herd to two NCAA Division I-AA National Championship games in 1987 and 1988. He also assisted Marshall to a third-place national ranking during its 1988 championship-game run. Hickson also coached Ron Darby at Marshall, the Southern Conference's all-time leader with 6,700 all-purpose yards.
Hickson is a 1983 graduate of Tuskegee in Tuskegee, Ala., where he received his bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis on recreation. He has been a frequent guest speaker for the Frank Glazer National Coaching Clinic since 1994.

My combined experiences reinforced my beliefs that divorce, while closing one chapter, is the start of an exciting new story. Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 31: Author, Keynote Speaker, Corporate Operations Strategist, Michael Huggins

He always followed the rules, never rocked the boat, and everyone called him "Saint Michael" growing up. He got his MBA from Wharton, became a successful CEO, and then... he went to prison.

In a behind-the-scenes look at life in a men’s correctional facility, Going Om is the story of the man least likely to end up behind bars. Follow his journey of learning how to survive away from his family in the dog-eat-dog culture of prison, and the struggles of returning to his community later on. Huggins shares both alarming and surprisingly funny stories, emails that he had sent from prison, and lessons learned during the dimmest days of his life.

Struggling to cope in a world where he did not belong, Huggins turned to the practice of yoga for strength and direction. Before long, “Yogi Mike” had a following of inmates seeking his help with physical fitness, anger management, and everything in between. Hard personal truths were realized through his challenging experiences on the inside, true clarity came, and ultimately transformation into living an authentic life.

Michael remains active in teaching yoga in prisons, as seen in the Huffington Post, as well as CBS, FOX and NBC News affiliates. He is a frequent speaker on self-empowerment and the power of yoga for rediscovering your true self. He is a contributor to several books focused on best practices for teaching trauma informed yoga to underserved populations.

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 28: US Army Vet, S.W.A.T. Cop, US Federal Air Marshal, Author, Inspirational Speaker and Host of Two Dates and a Dash Podcast, Matt Cubbler

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 28: US Army Vet, S.W.A.T. Cop, US Federal Air Marshal, Author, Inspirational Speaker and Host of Two Dates and a Dash Podcast, Matt Cubbler

Matt Cubbler has always lived a life of sacrifice and dedication to others. From serving in the U.S. Army, to working as one of Pennsylvania’s most renowned police officers, to donating his time speaking to teens and young adults about the importance of leadership in their lives, he has devoted his life to helping others through both his professional and personal life.

To him these things come naturally. Because after growing up as the son of a single mother and the brother of a mentally disabled teen who was often picked on, Cubbler always knew it was his calling to serve others.

A month after graduating from high school, Cubbler’s brother Andy died in a violent car accident. That moment would end up becoming the single most impactful moment in his life. While he excelled academically in high school and had an opportunity to attend one of the four major military academies, he decided he was needed elsewhere and chose to enlist in the United States Army and served for four years as an Intelligence Analyst. His Army tour of duty took him from Augsburg, Germany to the Persian Gulf War.

After leaving the military as a highly decorated soldier, Cubbler began his career in law enforcement. Throughout his career, he has worked in almost every facet of law enforcement – uniformed patrol, investigations, under-cover narcotics, and SWAT. Shortly after “9/11,” he answered the call to, once again, protect America against Islamic Extremists who were inflicting terror all over the world. He was one of only a few thousand select individuals (out of over 900,000 applicants) to be hired by the newly formed United States Federal Air Marshal Service.

In 2006, Cubbler returned to local police work and he published a memoir that detailed his life with his brother entitled A Brother’s Love: A Memoir. In 2008, to help raise money for charities established in his brother’s name, he ran 78.8 miles across the state of New Jersey. His level of love and commitment to keeping his brother’s name and story alive has inspired thousands across the country.

In 2009, Cubbler got bit by the entrepreneurial bug and he launched his first company MaxOut, a unique fitness brand that owns a unique piece of patented strength training technology and owns and operates one-of-a-kind gyms utilizing this same technology. Over the past eight years, while still working full-time as a police officer, he has built MaxOut into a national brand that has helped thousands of people achieve strength and fitness levels unseen in the fitness marketspace.

Today, Cubbler is still a full-time police officer, the COO of MaxOut, host of the popular podcast Two Dates and a Dash Podcast and a sought after public speaker who captivates his audiences through his personal story of struggle and triumph, his leadership training program based on his experiences as a soldier and his law enforcement officer and most importantly his life living with his brother whose life and death has inspired all that he has accomplished since that fateful day.

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 13: The Fighter - "Irish" Mickey Ward

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 13: The Fighter - "Irish" Mickey Ward

“Irish” Micky Ward (born October 4, 1965) is a retired junior welterweight professional boxer from Lowell, Massachusetts.  Micky is regarded as a working class hero, a blue-collar athlete who has overcome many difficulties in life and prevailed through determination and hard work. Ward won three New England Golden Gloves titles as an amateur before turning pro in 1985. He started off 14-0 in his professional career. Ward was known for his devastating left hook to the body and his ability to withstand punishment while waiting to land his trademark shot. A perennial underdog, he has been known to suddenly drop his opponent in the late rounds with a single shot to the body as he did against Emanuel Burton.

After a 15-year pro career, the veteran Ward gained widespread fame in his May 18, 2002 fight with Arturo Gatti, broadcast live on HBO. In 2001, Ward´s battle with Emanuel Burton on July 13 had been named the Ring Magazine Fight of the Year and it served to set up the much-anticipated Ward-Gatti matchup. Ward-Gatti I saw both fighters withstand an amazing amount of punishment through 10 rounds of non-stop action. Ward, who dropped Gatti in the ninth round with a vicious left hook to the body, won the fight by majority decision.Ward-Gatti I was hailed as the “Fight of the Century” by boxing fans and writers, and Round 9 of that bout was called “The Round of the Century” by Emanuel Steward, who co-hosted the fight live on HBO. Ring Magazine named Ward-Gatti I the Fight of the Year for 2002.

In their rematch, Gatti neutralized Ward´s body punching power by boxing and staying low. In the third round, Gatti knocked Ward to the canvas with a thundering overhand right which landed on Ward´s ear. Ward sprawled into the turnbuckle and stayed down for the mandatory 8 count. Nobody, especially Gatti (who after the fight called it “the hardest punch I´ve ever landed”) expected Ward to get up, never mind finish the fight. Commentators noted that if it had been any other fighter than Ward, the referee would have stopped the fight in the third round. Ward and Gatti had a third fight, on June 7, 2003. Despite dropping Gatti in round six, Ward lost by a ten round unanimous decision. Ward-Gatti 3 was named Fight of the Year for 2003 by Ring Magazine, which meant that Ward had earned that honor three times. Before his final fight with Gatti, Ward had announced his plans to retire after the fight.

Micky captured both the WBU Intercontinental Light Welterweight title and the WBU Light Welterweight title. He also won the respect and admiration of many fans worldwide. The song “The Warrior´s Code” by the punk rock band Dropkick Murphys is dedicated to Micky Ward, and his photograph appears on the cover of the album. Ward´s life is chronicled in a biography by Bob Halloran entitled Irish Thunder: The Hard Life and Times of Micky Ward. Micky Ward´s trilogy with Arturo Gatti would become the cover of the video game Fight Night Round 3, on the PlayStation 2 and XBOX versions of the game. And to top it all off The movie “The Fighter” staring Mark Wahlberg as Micky Ward and Christian Bale as his half-brother, Dickie Eklund recounts Ward´s climb to fame.

He was told by the doctors that he only had a 1% chance of ever walking again. He has persevered through this situation by clinging to faith, and relying on God.

Brock started rehabbing with the physical therapists at the hospital for two years after the accident. After that period, Brock was only able to move his hip and quad muscles, which allowed him to walk with the aide of full leg braces and a walker. He was still far from where he wanted to be, and God had a new opportunity awaiting him. Brock's brother, Elliott, played for the University of Michigan football team, allowing Brock to connect with their coaching staff who had offered to work out with him since the accident. After insurance had run out for rehab, he started rigorous workouts with Mike Barwis and the rest of the football strength and conditioning staff at the University of Michigan. Since then he has learned to walk with two canes, and in fall of 2010, Brock completed his goal of leading the Michigan Wolverines onto the field for their home opener accompanied with his mom, Elliott and oldest brother Blake.

In December of 2012, he was able to stand at his wedding and walk down the aisle with his bride, Haley, without the assistance of canes. Currently, Brock and his wife are living in Wauseon Ohio, and has plans to help others in their own journey through life's challenges. He continues to work out so he continues to improve, as well as, share his faith, and motivate others to strive for their goals. He has since been able to walk without assistance of any kind, walking up to a half mile at a time.

Join the 1% today, and face adversity head on. Brock's message is about persevering against overwhelming odds; no matter what the challenge is.

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 4: Philly Sportscasting Legend, Lou Tilley

Two Dates and a Dash Podcast Episode 4: Philly Sportscasting Legend, Lou Tilley

After a long career as a sports and news anchor in major east coast media markets, Broadcast Pioneers member Lou Tilley partnered with international businessman Martin E. Judge, Jr., founder and President of The Judge Group and The CAFL, to form Lou Tilley Media. LTM is an international creative branding, marketing, public relations and production agency. From concept to delivery, Lou and his team craft engaging cross-platform content created to serve each client’s vision and goals.

Lou Tilley has long been a familiar face to TV viewers in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Baltimore, Charlotte and across the nation. His 30+ year on-air career has garnered 11 Emmy awards for excellence in reporting, programming and production.

In 2010, while preparing to emcee the annual Maxwell Football Awards Gala, Lou found himself discussing his future with longtime friend and accomplished businessman, Marty Judge. Lou Tilley Media was born that night as a collaboration between the two. The MFC,. now produced for TV by LTM on national networks, remains the passionate center of the agency. In fact, football – sports – and great storytelling, are at the core of LTM’s impressive list of clients that include: The CAFL China, The Philadelphia Soul, Defend Your Head Sports Safety, The Cal Ripken Baseball Group, Ron Jaworski Enterprises, and The Judge Group. “I’ve always been an effective story teller. Now, I dig into my client’s stories, their messaging and goals in the same way I would dig into a major news story: to find the most effective avenue of message delivery. I employ “Three E’s” in every project: education, entertainment and enterprise. They are not mutually exclusive,” says Lou from his office along the banks of the Schuylkill River in Conshohocken, PA, not far from the central Philadelphia row home where he was raised.

Recently, LTM planted its flag in China, establishing offices in Shanghai, leading the media and marketing arm of Marty Judge’s dream venture, the China Arena Football League. “This is a blank canvas for LTM. The Chinese market is hungry for western style sports, for football, and my job is – you guessed it – to educate, entertain and make it work for our shared enterprise.” LTM manages all broadcast rights for the new pro league set to launch in 2016. “There are no right or wrong ways to deliver the games there. We can re-invent the way we present this and other sports to new fans. Because of this, we are better enabled to develop new methods of delivery for our sponsors in the process.”

LTM will produce all regular and postseason games in China in both Mandarin and English, as well as distribute them nationally in China on the iQIYI network, and in the US on the ONE World Sports Network. Lou and his team will also manage all public relations and news media, social media , websites in both languages, as well as all game day in-arena operations. LTM also works directly with the CAFL exclusive sponsors to develop and deliver their messages across all media platforms.

LTM is developing streaming delivery systems aimed at China’s massive mobile device audience, in-arena visual entertainment packages, and special fan apps reflecting sponsor driven demographics. “Already, this fresh start, this blank canvas, has lead us in the direction of new methods of story telling, which has helped us and our clients state-side.”

LTM continues its growth internationally, utilizing the ever-changing tools of technology, but always with Lou Tilley, the award-winning broadcaster behind the creation and delivery.
