Dr Cameron Murray - The Great Housing Hijack
What is the deal with our obsession with house prices? Is it right that a basic need has been turned into a speculative investment?
Are rocketing house prices real or just inflation by another name?
Property expert Dr Cameron Murray was one of the only economists to correctly predict a 20% surge in house prices would occur during the Covid years. He returned to Discernable to lay out future trajectories of housing prices and rents and explain what we are seeing in 2024.

The Cancelled Professor - Nikolai Petrovsky the Vaccine Inventor
- Professor Nikolai Petrovsky invented a Covid-19 vaccine.
- He took his own vaccine.
- He was fired and cancelled for refusing and calling out the potential dangers of competing technologies (mRNA).
He has been labelled a conspiracy theorist and an 'antivaxxer' in a stunning display of ignorance and doublespeak.
Jay Vidanage: Employers are Liable for Mandates
Jay Vidanage is a barrister and solicitor from Old Port Chambers in Adelaide, Australia. Jay believes that it's only a matter of time before the wheels of justice come down on vaccine mandates. He points to recent wins in court that demonstrate a shift in judicial tone around Covid-19, vaccines, and vaccine mandates.
Most concerning is the way mandates and directions are being declared unlawful by courts, for varying reasons, leaving employers exposed for any harms they may have caused their employees by enforcing what they thought were valid government mandates.
Jay delivers a message of responsibility and warning for all employers to ensure they have covered their own backsides in the way they enforced increasingly unlawful mandates.

Iain Walker: How to Stop Playing Politics
Something in politics is broken. We all know it. Politicians have become masters of getting elected whilst getting nothing done in the real world. Is there a way to get them to focus on solving actual problems rather than chasing polls and keeping their jobs?
Iain Walker is the Executive Director of the New Democracy Foundation, an independent research organisation that designs and implements 'citizen juries' to various levels of government around the world.
In this interview we explored how citizen assemblies are making an impact globally, gradually becoming a viable and accepted method of decision making.
Tune in to this interview to hear about how politicians are being incentivised to 'stop playing politics' by this new form of public governance.

Ps Braam Botha - The End of the World: Ethics, Ego and Conflict
With so much of our world in seeming flux, decay and upheaval, it is becoming popular to ask if we are witnessing the death of the world we always knew.
Why do our cultures and institutions pursue relentless 'change' with such zeal? Why are we redefining language and logic to support subjective views?
Are we destined for a societal train wreck?
Senior Pastor of Berwick Church of Christ, Braam Botha, discusses ethics, homosexuality, egoism, utilitarianism, government, conflict and morality in this 90 min interview.
This episode is for you if you're interested in a perspective that takes aim at the aggrandisement of 'SELF' and calls for a radical departure from the momentum of popular culture.

Nick Karamouzis: Why The Fascists Will Fail (and Humanity Will Win)
Nick Karamouzis is a retired lawyer who regained his practising certificate to start defending Australians he feels are being marginalised by their governments.
He is also the Chair of Self Employed Australia, and has a successful post-law career in business.
In this interview he shares his hatred of woke culture, the obsession with racism and transgenderism, why he believes Australian governments are acting like 'fascists', and why he believes 'humanity' will ultimately win.
THE 5 BUROUGHS CASE AGAINST VICTORIA
THE SMOKING FIGS
Daniel Lopez on the Irresistible Rise of Socialism
Daniel Lopez is the contributor editor overseeing Australia for U.S. based Jacobin magazine which offers a socialist perspective on politics, economics and culture. He is an active member of the 'Victorian Socialists' party which achieved a remarkable result in the 2022 state election.
Daniel visited the Discernable studio to explore the evils that neo-liberalism has wrought on the world, where it came from, and what points of agreement a socialist perspective might have with a free-market libertarian perspective. Of particular concern was generational inequality, with a growing resentment among younger Millennial and GenZ cohorts who feel they are being left behind in a declining world.
Graeme Cann: Shame, Fear & Power: Understanding Child Sexual Abuse
Graeme Cann has been at the forefront of combatting domestic violence and child sexual abuse in Australia for 60 years. He is the founder of The Christian Counselling Association of Australia, and has counselled hundreds of victims and perpetrators of child sexual abuse since 1960.
Graeme has come to the conclusion that 'power asymmetry' is insufficient to explain domestic violence and child abuse, where guilt and shame often underpin pathological behaviours.
In this discussion we explore Graeme's personal experience as a victim of child sexual abuse, the indicators of pedophilia, and why so much child abuse occurs in religious institutions.

Saluting Their Service: Victoria Police Officers Conscripted to Vietnam Tell Their Stories
These are the stories of ten Victoria Police officers who served in the Vietnam War between 1964 and1972. Plucked from policing the streets of Melbourne, they were expected to serve their mandatory period of national service before returning to Victoria Police with no support, psychological evaluation, or job retraining, often policing protests against the very war they never wanted to serve in, and had just returned from.
Many of them rose to the highest ranks within Victoria Police, with some experiencing debilitating and life-long complications from their time in the military.
In 2023, Victoria Police formally apologised to them and recognised their service in a series of events called ‘Saluting Their Service’.

A Nation of Serfs? Australia's Destiny, with Rob McMullan
Rob McMullan returns to Discernable to discuss the ongoing drift in society toward 'empathising' and 'caretaking' which ultimately leads to mass dependence. Is Australia destined to become a nation of compliant serfs who are comfortably satiated but totally without agency?
Rob foresees a two-tiered society of Elites and Serfs...a 'dependent mass' and an 'inner city elite' as opposed to a mixed and dominant middle class.
Unless and until an inevitable retaliation takes place.

Case Against Premier Daniel Andrews failed because Judge found it might cause him 'stress'
This is a standalone episode summarising the 'Not Above the Law' case against Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and other named politicians and bureaucrats, run by Self Employed Australia over hotel quarantine failures.
It is a story of government malfeasance, admission and farce (government prosecuting itself), and ultimately judicial activism where the presiding judge created and offered a defence for government that ultimately led to the case failing because of concerns over the mental welfare of Daniel Andrews and others named in the case.
The 57 page judgement makes the point that allowing the case to proceed would cause 'stress of potentially being subjected to prosecution for serious criminal offences' for the named individuals including Daniel Andrews, Jenny Mikakos, Lisa Neville, Martin Pakula, Chris Eccles, Kym Peake, Brett Sutton, Shane Patton, Graham Ashton, Andrew Crisp et al.
Justice McDonald goes on to say that if the case proceeds, 'the 20 individuals identified in the First Request may suffer considerable prejudice'.

Medical Censorship of Australian Doctors and Health Professionals
Three cancelled medical professionals joined us to tell their stories of censorship by the Australian medical system. All three were de-registered by their professional licensing bodies for expressing views divergent from the ‘allowed’ opinion.
Since their expulsion from medicine, many of their views have become accepted fact though that does little to restore their careers.
Dr Paul Oosterhuis practiced Critical Care medicine for more than 32 years in Sydney, Australia. On 3rd September 2021, the Medical Council of NSW suspended his medical registration based on four anonymous complaints submitted to the regulator in relation to his Facebook posts.
Dr Robert Brennan taught anatomy and biomedical sciences for a decade before entering medical school and forging a career in mental health care. On 20th September 2021, the Medical Council of NSW suspended his medical registration based on five complaints (four named and one anonymous) in relation to distributing flyers/pamphlets warning about concomitant harms of lockdowns and other Covid-19 measures.
Ros Nealon-Cook was a registered psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience until 23rd September 2021 when the Psychology Council of NSW suspended her psychology registration, citing 10 anonymous complaints, related to a video she had released outlining serious concerns around harms to children due to the government pandemic response measures.
Watch this joint interview to hear about alarming adverse event signals, nudge units and medical manipulation, groupthink and peer pressure, medical ethics and faulty science, population psychology, and the state of Australia’s medical fraternity.

On tonight's show with Ken Phillips and Nick Karamouzis from Self Employed Australia:
VICTORIA IS BROKEN
Once again Daniel Andrews is dogged by allegations of corruption in his government. We look at the systemic nature of 'grey corruption' that is now widely acknowledged across left and right wing media. We make comparisons with Liberal corruption in other states such as NSW.
NOT ABOVE THE LAW
Self Employed Australia provides a final and detailed summary of the entire NATL campaign, and what transpired in Victorian courts. We reveal outrageous moves by judges to assist the Daniel Andrews government, feeding them arguments in court.
ALBO ATTACKS THE GIG ECONOMY

Better than QandA: Impossible Conversations with Peter Boghossian
Better than QandA is a new format live panel show that appeals to those who want to think deeply about the world today.
Tonight's topic 'Impossible Conversations with Peter Boghossian' explores epistemology: how do you know what you know? After demonstrating multiple games of 'street epistemology' we will dive into the 'Sokal Squared' 'Grievance Studies Affair' where James Lindsay, Helen Pluckrose and Peter Boghossian successfully published hoax papers in peer-reviewed academic journals to demonstrate the intellectual corruption of academia.
Panellists:
- Peter Boghossian joins us live, all the way from the USA. Peter is a Founding Faculty member at the University of Austin and the director of National Progress Alliance. His teaching pedigree spans more than 25 years and focuses on the Socratic method, scientific skepticism, and critical thinking. Peter’s dissertation explored increasing the moral reasoning of prison inmates and aiding their resistance to crime. His most recent book is How to Have Impossible Conversations and his writing can be found in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, Time Magazine, National Review, and elsewhere. His work is centred on bringing the tools of professional philosophers to a wide variety of contexts to help people think through what seem to be intractable problems.
- Flying in from Perth is Australia's most controversial comedian: Corey White. Transitioning from criminal lawyer to comedian, Corey has appeared at The Sydney Writers Festival, on Triple M, SBS, and at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He's mic dropped on the SAS, police, "journalists", the legal profession and government approved comedians, with a swag of agenda fluid gags that are rigorously tested, safe and effective for all. Until 2023 he was Australia's most cancelled comedian for daring to raise impossible conversations.

The Scandal of Grace with Bishop Paul Barker
What is the core promise of Jesus Christ and Christianity? Rather than settle for common caricatures, we invited Bishop Paul Barker to take us to the very centre of the faith where he explained the scandalous claims it makes.
What is faith? Is it testable? Does it lean on any empiricism and science or is it purely a 'leap of faith'?
What about social justice - is that the key message of Christianity?
What does 'believing' mean? Is it merely mental assent or something more?
Who is Jesus Christ? Does it really matter or is the rest of the Bible helpful without him?
How 'good' do you have to be to get into heaven? What about really bad people?
These are the questions that were in my mind approaching this interview, and I found it both surprising and refreshing to hear such a unique exposition of the Christian faith, instead of the strawman we hear in popular culture.
The second half of the discussion centred around cultural relevance, whether the world is devolving its standards, and whether all faiths will remain true to their sacred beliefs and texts or become secularised due to cultural pressure. We explored the failings of the modern church, and the loss of the core message of grace.
At Discernable we continue to explore different perspectives, beliefs, values and opinions by presenting them in their best light possible so you can make up your own mind.

Dr Jereth Kok - Cancelled by AHPRA for Posting Memes
For 4 years Dr Jereth Kok has been suspended from practising medicine for posting memes, satire, and other Christian religious opinions on social media. Many of these posts centred around transgenderism, sexuality and abortion.
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) used an emergency mechanism reserved for use on dangerous doctors who represent a risk to 'the public interest'.
Suspended without trial or hearing has meant 4 years of 'legal limbo' for Dr Kok who has been found neither guilty nor innocent by AHPRA. He has since been forced to retrain into an alternative career, so regardless of the eventual tribunal outcome he is unlikely to return to medicine.
AHPRA have disclosed that their investigation began when they received 2 anonymous complaints about Dr Jereth Kok's social media posts, and that those two complainants have never been his patients.
In this interview we explored the offences alleged by AHPRA, using AHPRA screenshots of Dr Kok's social media posts. Most of them are inarguably absurd, satire, or vanilla statements and the remaining are expositions of his Christian views.
We went on to discuss the dangerous reality being set by bodies like AHPRA in censoring doctors and homogenising the ideology of the entire industry, resulting in anti-scientific practices that ignores long-established principles of modern medicine.

Mandate Hell - a Review of Legal Challenges with Banga Legal
This is the story of John - a Queensland Health worker at Gold Coast Hospital (non-patient facing) who is facing dismissal for not taking a second dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, despite booking an appointment and trying to have it.
John was advised by multiple medical practitioners including a vaccine expert that he should definitely not take a second dose considering severe adverse reaction he had after the first, which included paralysis.
He is now both unable to receive a second dose and unable to work at Gold Coast Hospital who are erroneously claiming, amongst other things, that he has not received a first dose.
John has multiple valid medical exemptions including from the Federal Government. As John waits in limbo, his job has already been advertised and has reportedly been filled internally on a permanent basis.
John is represented by Samir Banga from Banga legal who joined us to discuss both the case and the status of legal challenges to vaccine mandates in Australia more broadly.
Why do so many fail? Will they continue to fail? Are lawyers simply profiteering on the suffering of fired or injured workers?
Which forum (courts, tribunals, commissions) are best to start action in? How should you approach them?

In this interview he shared insights into the true nature of sales, its role in society, various perceptions of salespeople, and how the landscape is changing to meet new needs in a new world.
James's expertise sheds light on the importance of sales psychology in the modern business world, and how it can be used to build strong relationships with customers, rather than simply pushing products.
This is a must-listen for anyone looking for a deeper understanding of sales psychology and its impact on a sales career, and on hiring staff to grow your business.

Lauren Dry: Why People Can't Let Go of the Pandemic
Lauren Dry is a specialist in nervous system and unconscious-driven behaviours. She joined Discernable to explore why so many people are 'stuck' post-pandemic and acting emotionally and unconsciously.
Serving as case study is the paradoxical treatment of Novak Djokovic by angry Australians, and the way humans descend into groupthink, social norms and reactionary grasps for 'safety'.
Steered by media and opportunistic governments, populations swing from one 'villain' to another, with some ultimately finding themselves in the arms of 'freedom' movements that are just as manipulative and fear-driven.
Is there a way to break free and live aware of our unconscious triggers, motivations and vulnerabilities?

6 News: Dethroning The Old News Guard with Leonardo Puglisi
As New Media takes off around the world, sometimes it actually scoops legacy media...and with only a fraction of the budget, staff, experience and resources of giant media conglomerates. 6 News is one of those New Media players with their news coverage being syndicated by Australia's national broadcaster (the ABC) as well as commercial networks.
The founder of 6 News, Leonardo Puglisi, makes regular appearances on major shows such as The Drum. Despite being only 15 years old, he now leads a national news organisation staffed by young volunteer reporters across Australia, sometimes being the only news organisation to provide rolling coverage of breaking news, as was the case with the Dec 2022 shooting in Queensland where 2 police officers were killed.
We sat down with Leo to find out how 6 News came to be, how they achieve 'unbiased' coverage, and how to reach his generation through media.

LEONARDO PUGLISI
From Prison to Pastry: A Fresh-Baked Redemption Story (with Jordan Dittloff)
This is a true tale of theft, drugs and a bakery. Jordan Dittloff made headlines in 2015 for stealing $277,993.58 from 47 clients of his travel agency Ace Travel in Victoria.
As an award winning travel agency and a community leader in regional Victoria, Jordan's crimes rocked the Colac community. Many, including his 70 year old future mother in law, lost thousands of dollars saved up for their 'trip of a lifetime'. Trading insolvent, Jordan effectively ran a travel ponzi scheme relying on future holiday bookings to pay for past holiday bookings.
Eventually the scheme collapsed and Jordan disappeared, sparking media attention. After 2 weeks he handed himself into police and was bailed pending a court hearing for his crimes.
At the same time, Jordan ran a second business: drug dealing in Melbourne, profits from which he used to fund his own drug habit. Whilst on bail, Jordan was arrested as part of Victoria Police drug sting operation in a Melbourne alleyway.
In the end the court sentenced Jordan to jail 3 years (20 months non-parole) as well as granting compensation orders for his victims to be repaid.
In prison Jordan completed a business degree and in the five years since release is completing a post-graduate law degree and has repaid ~$35,000 to victims. He has worked at the same bakery since release.
He now credits his time in prison as a catalyst for reform and is building a drug and alcohol free life of discipline and responsibility unlike his behaviour displayed before prison.

Darkness doesn't progress. Light retreats. All it takes for darkness to overcome, is for people to turn their lights out.

Luke Donnellan MP - Labor Minister in the Daniel Andrews Government
For 20 years, Luke Donnellan was the Victorian Labor MP for the outer suburban electorate of Narre Warren. He served as the Minister for Roads and Road Safety and Minister for Ports (2014-2018) and then as the Minister for Child Protection and the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers (2018-2021).

The People's Project Season 6 Episode 20: What's Wrong With Western Australia?
In this episode of The People's Project with Comedian Corey White and 'Lady Liberty' Kate Fantinel:
STATE DADDY
We explore the shenanigans of Western Australia's 'State Daddy' Premier Mark McGowan. Why exactly is he so popular? And does he deserve the fame? The panel stacked with West Australians disagrees with Matt who finds McGowan endearing.
We delve into the links between government and big businesses like Fortescue Metal Group (Twiggy Forrest).
THE KINGDOM OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Now that Mark McGowan has secured a completely red parliament and the Liberals have only 2 seats, this is what he gets up to.
Immediately after the election win in March 2022 Mark's police minister Paul Papalia colluded with media to dox law abiding firearm owners, publishing the location of every registered firearm for criminals to steal.
Pandemic powers are enshrined forever in Australia's first genuine police state - the Police Commissioner holds all authority to use the powers with no ministerial oversight and no accountability to the public (via an election).
COMEDIANS ON THE FRONT LINE
We explore the state of comedy in Australia and why the industry is stacked with virtue signaling nonsense that isn't even funny.

The People's Project Season 6 Episode 19: What's the Deal with Cannabis?
In this episode of The People's Project with David Limbrick MP and Corrine from Smoke Dreams:
IS CANNABIS GOOD OR BAD?
The conservative view is that cannabis is not only harmful, it's immoral and 'ILLEGAL!'. This has been the dominant message in policing, media and politics for nearly 100 years. The progressive view is that it's harmless and to be celebrated, endorsed and embraced by all. But is it as simple as either side makes out?
THE WAR ON DRUGS
When governments spend billions of dollars on drug harm policies, how much do you think actually goes towards harm minimisation, prevention and treatment, as opposed to brute enforcement?
LEGALISING CANNABIS IN AUSTRALIA
We explore the famous Portugal case study where all drugs were decriminalised 20 years ago. Did it work? What about in Australia - how are we tracking and can we stop the global trend towards decriminalisation and legalisation? This is after the ACT just announced it will be legal to possess drugs like cocaine, heroin and speed.

Zuby: Real Talk About Australia
Zuby is an internationally recognised rap and hip hop artist who also achieved fame as the champion British female deadlift record holder (238kg).
Designed to raise awareness of the absurdity of biological men competing against biological women in sport, the stunt eclipsed his music success and he was thrust into the culture wars where he has been offering previously common - but now exceedingly rare - takes on society.
He continues to self publish his music and books, as well as tour internationally as a keynote speaker on a variety of his interests including music, cryptocurrency, culture, and self-improvement.
He kindly agreed to an extended interview with Discernable in the suburbs of Melbourne where we could explore his views in a specifically Australian context.
