This podcast is designed to address topics both within the church and in the culture from a theological standpoint. Since the Bible is authoritative over all the it speaks, we believe it speaks to every issue (Psalm 19:7-14). The goal in every episode is to get to the biblical heart of the matter and ask, “what does God have to say?” With this approach you will see that everything is a Matter of Theology.
Season 2 of MoT continues as Chris takes some time to address the issue of worship both individually and corporately. The word worship has been hijacked and redefined to lessen the meaning and weight of it in the life of professing evangelical Christians. This should not be! Here at Matter of Theology, we love Andrew, Anthony, and Justin dearly so it is our goal to make sure that this is presented in a respectful and loving manner. Our disagreements on theological issues should drive us first to God's word, and secondly to a closer relationship with one another.
We hope that this episode encourages you to study this topic more in-depth with an open bible.

While the media continues to push the scare tactics of COVID-19, and protests continue to pop us; we must not ignore the fact that people within the body of Christ have lost their jobs, and some their homes. This gets down to the question of "how do we pastor our people in this time?" To assist us with this discussion, we were joined by Pastor Dr. Tom Buck.
Co-host Josh Lofthus wrote an encouraging message for the struggling believer. It was so moving that we asked him to record it so that we can share it to our listeners.

We are returning to our look at Ecclesiology, the study of the church. In this episode, we are turning our focus towards discipleship. Grace to You Articles:
The topic of Hell is often neglected nowadays. People are turned away from the idea that God would actually send people to a place called Hell, so it is either glossed over or never mentioned. In this episode, we discuss the nature of Hell and why pastors must teach on Hell as it relates to the character of God.
The great hymn writer John Newton said as he was getting old in age, "I am a great sinner, but Christ is a great savior." How do you view your sin? How do you deal with your sin? What is interesting is that while we should grieve and mourn our sin, it should also magnify the gospel. Though I be a sinner, being a sinner is a necessary qualification for receiving salvation. At the same time, our receiving salvation is by no means a license to sin.
If you follow Matter of Theology on Facebook, then you are aware that Drew and Chris have been doing a video series called, "The Conversation Chronicles." The idea centers around applying the Gospel to the conversation of race in our current cultural climate. This is part four in our series discussing the application of forgiveness. More so, this dialogue also dives into the role of pastors within the church. A role that is often viewed as one dimensional focusing solely upon preaching.
It is our belief that this episode should be posted as one of our podcasts for those who do not follow us on social media. If you would like to see or listen to the previous three episodes, please visit our Facebook page or YouTube channel.

The Puritan Stephen Charnock uses the phrase "practical atheism" in order to describe someone who does not deny God, but lives as though God does not exist. We can move this idea ahead to our modern day and we would call this lukewarm christianity.
In this episode, we discuss practical atheism and some causes that would guide a person down that path. It is our hope that this episode blesses you and challenges you to run to scripture, examine yourself, and see if you are living in a manner worthy of the Gospel is Jesus, or are you really a practical atheist.
Why Are Christians Hypocrites?
If you have engaged the non-believing culture to any extent, you have most likely been met with the phrase, "there are too many hypocrites in the church." Or, "why are Christians such hypocrites?" Often times this is used as a way to silence us from continuing to speak about God's Holiness, and how we who claim to be in Christ should live. But, what actually is a hypocrite, and is the church filled with them?
In this episode, we discuss the definition of hypocrite and the believers justified standing before God given the two natures that are waging war within the "new man." We hope that this episode is of great benefit to you.

It is no secret that the Ahmoud Arbery shooting has been the center of talk both inside the church and out. However, is the church being too hasty with choosing a position before all the facts are presented? what should the biblical response be?
Join Chris, Drew, and Josh as they discuss the Ahmoud Arbery shooting and the cultural rhetoric regarding race issues and how the church should respond in this situation.
Have you ever been asked, "who are the children of God?" only to be met with the reply that "everyone is a child of God." the Bible is very clear about who is and who is not a child of God.

In this episode, Drew and Chris discuss the Lords Supper and the dangers of pragmatic communion.
