Episode 5 - Writing Your Grief
Hello and welcome to Episode Five. It's a slightly different one today, not so much on my personal story but more on the practical ways of processing grief. I am a huge advocate of the healing power of words and how useful the process can be as an outlet, a way of understanding complex emotions, communicating with others and connecting with loved ones. Here I delve into how I started grief writing, the benefits of giving it a go and some tips about how to get into the headspace. If you are interested in giving it a go and would like some more information, I run monthly grief workshops virtually on Zoom. The next one is 12 August at 7pm for an hour. Email me at yournewnormal1@gmail.com if you would like some more information. Hope this is useful guys. All my love, Meera xx

Episode 4: Navigating Friendships In Grief
Hello and welcome to another episode of Grief Talks. Pre-warning: this is a bit of a rambling episode and there is some occasional dog barking (courtesy of my furry babies) but I'd like to think there is something useful in here for everyone. I divide friendships into two categories 'good friends' and 'bad friends' and delve into how I dealt with both of them. There's also a brief Q&A round at the end. I hope you can relate to it! Love, Meera xxx @yournewnormal1

Episode 3 - Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 Special*
Join Meera from Your New Normal as she explores the way her grief following the loss of her mum impacted her own mental health. Topics discussed are depression (specifically the difference between early grief and depression), PTSD and trauma, death anxiety and panic attacks. There are also some cheeky Q&As at the end! I read an extract from a wonderful book The State is Disbelief by Juliet Rosenfeld that I thoroughly recommend. I also speak about The Young Person's Grief Handbook that I am in the process of creating. If you want to get involved, feel free to e-mail me at yournewnormal1@gmail.com *DISCLAIMER everything shared is as usual based on my personal experiences of grief and loss. I am not a professional so am unfortunately unable to offer specific advice. But I hope you find my words a source of comfort. Lots of love, Meera xxxx
