This week on the podcast I am joined by Molly Carmel. Molly is a licensed clinical therapist and fiercely devoted to helping people from all walks of life break free from their destructive relationship with food, dieting and addiction. As she battled an eating disorder and addiction for over 20 years, Molly was shocked and disheartened by the lack of viable treatment options. This hopelessness fueled her to create her groundbreaking clinic and treatment method, Beacon by MC. Since then, she has made it her life’s mission to help people find permanent solutions, and to finally and fully heal their relationships with food and, more-so, with themselves. This week on Balance Your Life podcast I am joined by Missy Beavers. Missy is a lover of puns, her 6-year-old’s-knock-knock jokes, dogs, kindness, and chocolate. She was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease at 8 years old after gaining 50 pounds in a matter of months. For years, she took thyroid meds yet struggled with anxiety, hair loss, depression, gut issues, and her weight ballooned to over 275 pounds. The doctors insisted her labs were "normal" so she began seeking out her own solutions. She got a master’s degree in nutrition and even bought a health food store in an attempt to solve her nagging thyroid symptoms. Through trial and error, she discovered that all disease begins in the gut and fixing her underlying issues helped her end the exhausting Hashimoto’s battle and drop the weight after 28 years. She now helps women everywhere do the same!

On this episode we talk about signs and symptoms you may have thyroid issues, how gut health is directly connected to poor thyroid health, and hypothyroidism vs hyperthyroidism.
