In a world where the term 'self-care is often exploited - as women, we often feel guilty for taking care of ourselves.  We spend most of our time pouring into and taking care of so many others in our life - as we should.  But what happens when our own well-being begins to suffer?  Do we feel free to say "no" or to take time to rest our body, mind, and soul in ways that are beneficial to us?

Today, Dr. Zoe Shaw sheds light on what it truly means to take care of ourselves.  She shares with us her own journey to finding the true meaning of self-care.  She also encourages and challenges us to look for small shifts that lead to great impact over time. 

Dr. Zoe is a licensed psycho-therapist, a life and relationship coach, a mom and author of the book - A Year of Self-Care: Daily Practices and Inspiration for Caring for Yourself.  

Here are some powerful takeaways that Dr. Zoe shared:

1. Start where you are.  Self-care is a practice, not a one time event.

2. We can look to Jesus himself as a role model for soul-care.

3. Even in Christian circles, women are made to feel ashamed for taking care of themselves.
