Metacog Misfits

By Metacog Misfits
Join us in being social misfits and laugh with us as we fumble through life trying to be good humans.

We produce How to be a Good Human, Abnormal Humans, and Story Corner - all found here under Metacog Misfits!

For H2BGH, We focus on one social science research article and discuss how this article applies to being a good human.

For AH, we focus on the pasts of notorious abusers and speculate what made them tick.

Through our discussions, we include social and political commentary, as well as periodic comic relief.

The Dread of Aging and Death - How to Overcome & How to Good Human it up

How do we change this? And most importantly, how can we be good humans to ourselves and others when it comes to this topic? Spoiler: You’re way more beautiful and wonderful than society will allow you to believe. Because, if you actually like yourself, then how will businesses continue to sell you crap you don’t need to supposedly make you “better”? >>>>>  Music by Rafael Krux

Update: Blackout Tuesday! Educate Your Beautiful Brains.
Recommendations for support of BLM can be found here: Transcript: "Hey hey hey, today is blackout Tuesday and in solidarity with the BLM movement we will not be releasing podcast episodes this week. As a group of white art punks, we are muting ourselves to allow other voices to be heard. Please use this time to educate yourself on systemic racism in the US and, because it is Pride Month, I'd also like to advocate for people looking into the Stonewall Uprising of 1969. Knowledge is power, friends! Also, we posted an article yesterday full of ways you can support people of color, so please check out that article and consider donating to bail funds, BLM movements, or find local vigils protests to attend (peacefully). Have a lovely week. Stay safe and healthy. Don't forget to advocate for your fellow humans and while we would love to hear from our listeners on social media, please spare us the All Lives Matter BS because that's a given. All lives matter once black lives matter, so say it with me... Black lives matter. "

Self-Transcendent Experiences & Connection with Others
Dear Net Lizard's, eBAE's, Misfits and others, This episode is cool. Topics include: "Pentagons", Dick Cheney, "Pooping" Toms and a bunch of other random stuff to accompany the main topic(s) of mindfulness, flow, mysticism, and self-transcendence. This one's a bit longer but still awesome. Silly and serious. Check it. TL;DR: Meditation, mindfulness, flow, mysticism - all the buzzwords - actually hold some meaning. Engaging in self-transcendent experiences allows you to tap into positivity and experience that happiness you chase but rarely find (because you're always chasing it). Broh, Do you even have a Bromance?
TL;DR Bromances are real, and they are more than a TV trope. A marked decrease in homophobia has led to an increase in male friendship and bonding to such a degree that male relationships can be considered intimate, and men appreciate these relationships. Like a lot.     Check out the article on our site at Music by Rafael Krux Production and editing by Oona Bezzerides
