Eric Scroggins kicks off episode 14 to talk about his incredible career as a three-sport athlete at Roxana HS and his current position as Marketing Director for Heaterz Chicken! Dave calls it the "best chicken sandwich" he's ever had, and Scroggins discusses their desire to work with local sports teams and events to raise funds for their respective programs.

Next up Belleville West golfer Morgan Jung stops by to discuss his career on the links for the Maroons, and on the night before his last day of high school, he describes what he'll miss about BW. Jung describes his "next step," which is studying golf management at Mississippi State University.

Then, Ellie Bush of O'Fallon Township HS is our MESPY winner for 3A Runner of the Year. Bush is joined in the studio by her coach Neal James, who describes the prodigiously talented sophomore's ability to "feel the pace" of the race. Bush talks about what attracted her to the sport and her future plans.

Finally, Travis Williams is amongst the all-time greatest athletes to come out of East Alton Wood River HS. Williams, a three sport high school star, describes his upbringing, the many positive role models he had at EAWRHS, his recruiting process, and his decorated career with the Illini. Williams also discusses playing in the Arena League and coaching his son's team at Fenwick HS in Oak Park, Illinois.

This show begins with the MESPY winner for 1A Boys XC Runner of the Year, Hunter Ponce, who is joined by his coach, Ben Scamihorn. Ponce reflects on his state-qualifying season and talks about leading the Shells. Scamihorn talks about building the program to reflect his lofty goals in just his second year as head coach.

Next up, we check out the local boxing scene as manager and coach Tyler Woodard is in the studio with two of his top guys, Jeremiah Robinson and Justin Spalding. Woodard describes how he got into the sport; Robinson and Spalding guarantee "1st round knockouts in their fight," and they reveal what they love about it.

Finally, SIUE ultimate frisbee star and podcast co-producer, Keaton Anderson, is back to update everyone on his recently completed season, which included a "first-ever" trip to Regionals, where the "Geese" battled some prominent competition.

Next up, Edwardsville HS Swim Coach Christian Rhoten is in the studio with several of his top swimmers. First, Rhoten is joined by Scout Jackson and Reilly Curry. The girls are recognized as MESPY winners for Girls Swim Team of the Year, and they discuss the rigors of training in the pool and on the deck. Then, we recognize the boys Swim Team of the Year, also Edwardsville, as Cohen Osborn joins Rhoten in the studio. Osborne shares how he got started in swimming and what he'll miss about EHS next year.

Finally, Owen Dressler shares his experience as the student broadcasting voice of the Mascoutah Indians. Dressler talks about what he loves about doing games behind the mic and the support he consistently gets from the community.

This show kicks off with motocross rider, team owner, and coach, Jake Pauli. Pauli is back in the studio to discuss the growth of his team, the daily preparation necessary to compete at a world-class level, and the injury which nearly ended his career.

Next up, the undefeated Highland Bulldogs Baseball team are recognized as Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month. The "dogs" are represented in the studio by pitching coach Derek Reckmann, pitcher/first baseman Chase Knebel, and outfielder Jake Ottensmeier. Knebel and Ottensmeier discuss the strength of their team including their abililty to play any style necessary, and Reckmann describes building relationships with the players beginning in middle school and what he's learned from current Bulldog Head Coach, Coach Hawkins.

Marion High School Boys Tennis Coach Joe Pearce joins the show remotely to talk about winning the JD Miller Sportsmanship Award at the Edwardsville Invitational last weekend. Pearce, a first-year coach, talks about creating a culture of family and respect with the Wildcats. He is joined by Assistant Coach Bruce Myers and his two team captains, who talk about playing Pearce and Myers.

Next up. we talk LAX with Edwardsville United and EHS Boys Head Coach Zac Bilyeu and Defensive Coordinator Will Dunlap. The duo talks about how they got their start in the sport and the excitement surrounding the program at Edwardsville HS including gaining the program's first-ever win.

Wrapping up the show, Bill Roseberry of the Gallatin Awards Committee, is in studio with SWIC Head Women's Basketball Coach John Denney. Denney talks about his "style" as a coach and how his playing career helped shape his attitude as a coach. Coach Denney explains his passion for the game and love the love he has for his position at SWIC.

The Alton Redbirds Girls Basketball team is represented in the studio in the first slot, as Coach Deserea Howard makes her first appearance on the show, and she is joined by star players Jarius Powers and Kyoko Proctor. Coach Howard talks about all the things that made this team special, and how giving birth just two weeks before the season wasn't going to get in the way of another Redbird hoops season. Powers talks about what she'll remember from this season, and she describes her rugged style of play. Proctor shares her timetable for recovery from the injury in the Super-sectional, which ended her season, and she shares insight into what made her commit to SIUE to continue her playing career.

Next up, Rick Daleen, stops in to talk about the upcoming Leon Spinks Dinner of Champions, a tribute to Spinks, who is former Olympic gold medalist and world champion, who defeated Muhammad Ali. Daleen describes his passion for working with kids "to help keep them off the street" at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles, where is the Director of Operations. He also lists the impressive list of former World Champions who will be in attendance at the event.

In the third slot, three senior baseball players from three local high schools are in the studio to talk about their athletic careers, and the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities Program) in which they participate in their respective schools. Cole McClusky (Collinsville), AJ Sutberry (McGivney), and Blase Kurwicki (Highland). share the lessons they've learned and the connection between CEO and sports. The boys also describe their plans for the future and their individual CEO projects.

Next up, Dalton Brown, football and track & field athlete at Edwardsville High School, is the latest Charitable Champion presented by Front Office Fiduciary Network. Brown, who was nominated by Head Football Coach, Kelsey Pickering, is a described a "selfless leader" who sets a tremendous example on the field and in the classroom. The Truman State commit discusses the Tigers' successful football season, and he talks about throwing the discus this spring.

Then, we focus on ultimate (frisbee) with three member of the SIUe program: the Driscoll brothers (Evan and Patrick) and associate producer, Keaton Anderson. the three talk about what attracted them to the sport, and they share the nuances of the game they love.

Finally, Mascoutah Volleyball Coach Breezy Gober is in the studio to be recognized for the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year. She describes coaching in Mascoutah and building the program there; she is joined by All-State outside hitter and MESPY winner for 3A Player of the Year, Avery Boehm, who describes being a three-sport standout at Mascoutah. Dave spontaneously brings Mrs. Boehm in the studio for an impromptu interview on what she looks for in a coach and what she loves about the Mascoutah sports scene.

This episode begins with the MESPY winners for 5A Football Team of the Year, the Highland Bulldogs, who are represented by Head Coach Jim Warnecke and players Ethan Greenwald and Ashton Zobrist. Warnecke explains his philosophy: "players win games, not plays," and his returning captains talk about the secret to their success--toughness and intelligence on the gridiron. Coach talks about the team's dramatic playoff run, which included two hard-fought wins to get to the quarterfinals, and the boys discuss the "The Dog Pound," the HHS school podcast and dirt racing!

Next up, one of the best soccer players to come out of the Metro East recently, Adam Reiniger, is back to accept is THIRD MESPY for 3A Player of the Year. Reiniger discusses his personal, intense daily training regiment, and his academic success, which has him ranked #1 in his class. The All-Stater also accepts the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year, which included the program's fourth consecutive SWC Championship.

Rounding out the show is our Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, Jack Carmody, the Triad Boys Tennis Coach. Carmody discusses his the "secrets" to building his program's success, which includes a long stretch of Sectional and MVC Championships, and winning the recent Regional Coach of the Year Award.

Edwardsville HS Hockey Coach Jason Walker is in the studio to accept the MESPY for Hockey Team of the Year. He is joined by his goalie Kai Vetter, who earned the MESPY for Player of the Year. The two discuss their championship season, which included raising $40k for Hockey Fights Cancer in conjunction with the St. Louis Blues.

Next up, Anna Hall, a member of the Harry Gallatin Awards Committee, joins the show to talk about helping to organize the event, which recognizes the best basketball players in the Riverbend area. Hall, a two-time Gallatin Player of the Year, shares her thoughts on the upcoming ceremony.

Finally, former world champion boxer Devon Alexander stops by to share his candid story of growing up in North St. Louis in a "two bedroom apartment with 13 kids and two adults." Alexander "the Great" talks about when he first started the sport, and he details highlights from his 19 years in professional boxing. He is joined by Stewart Cumberland, a member of his foundation, and the two discuss their plans to bring hope to kids in North STL through education and boxing.

This show boasts a new record for MOST guests--10! Caryn Mefford of My Pocket CEO begins the show, as she presents the Charitable Champion Award for February to Grace Maxfield of Granite City HS. Maxfield is a leader in the classroom and on the cheer team at GCHS, and she chose Chain of Hope as her charity of choice. Mefford shares some good advice for the senior as she plans her next step, which is to attend Illinois State University in the fall. Next up, Mater Dei Girls Volleyball Coach Chad Rakers is back to accept the MESPY for 2A Team of the Year. The Lady Knights captured the State Championship, and joining Rakers to discuss the feat are Addie Lampe and Addison Nenninger. The two girls discuss what they'll remember from the regular season and the team's dramatic playoff contest against Central. Rakers and the girls also talk about the team's "core values." Next up, the MESPY for 3A Boys XC Team of the Year was earned by O'Fallon, and Coach Jon Burnett shares his thoughts on his "style" and the team's top-5 finish at state. Then, we recognize the latest Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, the Edwardsville HS Girls Wrestling Team, which captured the Conference, Regional, and Sectional titles. In this first episode of Season 5, Civic Memorial's longest-tenured Coach, Derek Jarman, and new Head Football and current Head Baseball Coach, Nick Smith, are in the studio to talk about the big changes on the horizon for their school. Jarman talks about taking over as Athletic Director in the 25-26 year, and Smith discusses his new gig leading the Eagles on the gridiron. They share their vision for their new roles, and they discuss their professional journeys, which have led them to this point. Next up, Alton's Head Basketball Coach Dylan Dudley is back to talk about the Redbirds' exciting season, which has included a couple dramatic wins in the SWC. Dudley also includes some "good advice" he got from his girlfriend and the difference between coaching golf and hoops. Finally, the Roxana Shells wrestlers are having a tremendous season. Next up, Kyle Anderson is in the studio to talk about one of the hottest topics in collegiate sports today--NIL. Anderson has founded a group which he believes will raise integral capital for the SIUE Men's Basketball program beginning next season. Anderson explains how his organization could be a key piece in helping the Cougars become competitive with the best teams in the country.

Next up, Kahok Athletic Director Clay Smith discusses all the great energy surrounding Purple Nation and the special nature of guiding the sports programs in his hometown. Then, Head Football Coach Colton Rhodes and quarterback Darren Pennell join the show to accept their MESPY Awards for 7A Team and Individual Player of the Year. Rhodes describes his leadership philosophy, and Pennell, a McKendree commit, talks about making the change from WR to QB just one month before the season. Then, the top tennis player on the Kahok squad, Carter Marlin, stops by to talk about the challenge of playing #1, his goals for the future, and his musical background. Next, Civic Memorial Head Softball Coach Luke Angelo is in studio to discuss coaching with his father Steve. The Angelos discuss their special bond and shared sports memories.
