The Way Forward - The MFiles Podcast - Ep. 7

The Way Forward - The MFiles Podcast - Ep. 7

In this episode of The Melanated Files, we discussed a few statements that the president of Ghana made at a forum some time ago. We particularly honed in on what he said about the destiny of black people being bound up with Africa. A statement that we believe rings true, especially in many discussions about black people that somehow devolves into parallels being drawn between the state of the diaspora and the continent . We believe this was an important conversation and we had a caller who made some very strong points that we believe should not be overlooked.

Ownership - The MFiles Podcast Ep. 5

In this episode of The Melanated Files podcast we discussed the importance of ownership within the black community. Ownership in the sense of turning our gaze towards being producers than merely people who perpetually occupy the seat of consumers. This is one way to gain more control over our lives and solve some of the problems that we face as a community. In this episode we also invited our first guest, Dean Jackson who is a forward thinking entrepreneur based in Japan who spoke on the blockchain, cryptocurrency and Steem.

Our First LIVE Call in Podcast Episode - The MFiles Podcast Ep. 4

This is episode four of The Melanated Files Podcast and it was streamed LIVE on YouTube making it our first LIVE call in podcast. Being our first LIVE podcast it wasn't without it's hiccups, but we did learn a lot and are even more excited about what's to come. We'd love to have you join us on one of our LIVE podcast episodes on YouTube. The goal of this podcast is to create a platform for solution driven discussions on the black experience across the globe and the more of us discussing these solutions the better. In this episode we spoke about our recently concluded event Family that was held in Tokyo. This lead to a discussion about community. Going forward these LIVE call in podcast episodes will be more structured and our goal is to make them shorter ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. This is the goal but we're sure there will be exceptions. Feel free to visit our website to provide us with any feedback about this episode. We'd love to hear from you and hope you enjoyed this episode as much as we did, see you next week. Thanks for listening.

We intended for this episode to be a short one where we announce the changes, but we ended up having a heart to heart session that went on for more than a few minutes. We hope you will be inspired by this conversation and ultimately stirred to action.

All About Solutions, w/Ranzo & Janique - The MFiles Podcast Ep. 1

All About Solutions, w/Ranzo & Janique - The MFiles Podcast Ep. 1

The black community has been through a lot. Those of us within this community know this better than anyone. The odds are generally stacked against us and when we're not engaged in battles without the community, we are engaged in battles within it. These realities are well understood. However, the purpose of this podcast is to focus on solutions. Here we will highlight the problems but we won't stop there. We believe progress comes from not only recognizing the problem, but working relentlessly to remedy it. In this our first episode, we discuss the goal of this podcast, The MFiles series on our Black Experience Japan's YouTube channel, and more. If you would like to see positive change within the black community, we encourage you to listen to this episode and join us on our journey. A journey where we intend to do what we can, to be the change that we want to see.
