Is FULFILLMENT a journey or a destination?

Is FULFILLMENT a journey or a destination?

  • Many people perceive fulfillment as a continuous process or journey rather than a final destination. This perspective suggests that fulfillment comes from personal growth, self-discovery, and the pursuit of meaningful experiences and goals throughout life. In this sense, individuals constantly evolve and strive to find satisfaction and contentment in various aspects of their lives, such as relationships, career, personal development, and contributions to society.

  • On the other hand, some people perceive fulfillment as an endpoint or destination—a state of complete satisfaction or happiness that one eventually reaches after achieving certain goals or milestones. According to this perspective, fulfillment is attained when specific criteria or objectives are met, such as finding a dream job, establishing a successful career, building a loving family, or achieving personal aspirations. Once these goals are accomplished, individuals may feel a sense of fulfillment and contentment, viewing it as a destination they have reached.

  • Ultimately, whether fulfillment is seen as a journey or a destination depends on individual beliefs, values, and experiences. Some may find fulfillment in the ongoing pursuit of personal growth and fulfillment, while others may perceive it as a state of achievement or attainment. Both perspectives have their merits and can coexist, as fulfillment is a deeply personal and subjective experience that varies from person to person.

    Hiding in the Spiritual Closet

    Hiding in the Spiritual Closet

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey you have likely encountered judgement and fear, or you will experience judgement and fear, from those that you believe are closest to you. Why is this? What can you do about it?

Being human is a journey and so is the spiritual path and EVERYONE is on it to some degree because we are all human! When we embark on the path that veers off the main highway it might mean leaving people behind who are afraid of what's on the path or it might mean you have to let them ride shot gun or it might mean they will get to where they are going at a different time and place. And it's all perfect.

We are not here to judge how people choose to navigate this journey BUT the way WE navigate it might just change how others respond. As we change and shift our vibrational frequency, very often there is a ripple effect and we see others changing vicariously through us! What a powerful way to embrace the trip.

In this episode, 6 members of my spiritual badass team come together to share their experiences, wisdom, and insights into how you can slowly and confidently come out of your spiritual closet.

As you listen, please remember to share, follow, and like so others on their journey may find the tribe they are looking for.

How to marry the business of business with the power of SOUL.

How to marry the business of business with the power of SOUL.

What happens when we bring the power of soul into the work environment? Does everyone start wearing flowers in the hair and dancing to 70's music? Perhaps we sit on their desk and meditate with pyramid on their head? Nah.

Changing leadership style from autocratic to soul creates community, connection, collaboration, curiosity, understanding, and authorship. And all of this translates into innovation and forward thinking.

Marrying the business of business with soul is a process of learning how to give away our gifts to the collective in order to achieve a desired outcome. Listening with curiosity. Creating from authorship. Releasing criticism and judgement.

This is a powerful episode for anyone who works - regardless of what what that looks like.

Thanks so much for listing and if you like what you are hearing remember to like, share, and follow. Enjoy!

Why FEAR will derail your spiritual journey.

Where do you NOT WANT to be in 1 year?!

Where do you NOT WANT to be in 1 year?!

This time of year has people thinking about their New Year's Resolutions. That thing that will motivate them into the thing they desire - like a new body, a new relationship, a new career, a new adventure.

For a lot of people New Year's Resolutions can also be daunting and scary because the 'goal' is simply a bandaid to stem the flow of what is making them unhappy. This episode explores the adventure of change through the lens of where a person DOES NOT WANT to be in 1 year - rather than where they think they want to be. What's holding them stuck, unsure, and procrastinating.

A great way to approach your new year from a new age and fresh perspective! Enjoy, like, and share.

Episode 31 - Your Voice Matters - A story about overcoming FEAR. #6

Episode 31 - Your Voice Matters - A story about overcoming FEAR. #6

One of the most common fears people have is speaking on a stage in front of people. Well, Tamara Schoon has taken that fear and turbo charged it - she overcame fear to do stand up comedy! From a very young age she learned from her father to be quiet and not be silly and this created the fear of being seen and the fear of being judged. Although she grew up to be fearless by joining the army, travelling abroad, auditioning for America's Got Talent, taking an improv course in another language, her fear of being seen and judged remained. So - what better way to overcome it than by getting up on a stage in front of a bunch of people and talk about your sex life! Tamara's passion now is to inspire others to do the thing that scares you the most. To make your secret dream a reality.  I hope you enjoy her story and I hope it inspires you to face your fears to create the life you desire.

Episode 29 - Your Voice Matters - A story about overcoming FEAR. #4

Shampaigne Graves is unique, starting with her name. As a child she she was spoiled by her father with love, attention, and a lot of 'nice things' and from a young age, she wanted to be an artist. What her father taught her was she would never be able to provide herself with a nice life full of beautiful things as an artist, so she'd better pick a more practical road. So she parked her dream of being an artist and went to school to get a degree in a subject that she didn't feel aligned with. She chose to step away from that degree and with only a few $$'s she embarked on an entirely different career path that had her feeling inadequate, not good enough, and she struggled with imposter syndrome BUT she didn't let it stop her. Today she has a thriving business and she shares that facing her fears allowed her to be able to 'prove herself wrong every time' and, that it's okay to be unique.  I hope you enjoy her story and I hope it inspires you to face your fears to create the life you desire.

Episode 28 - Your Voice Matters - A story about overcoming FEAR. #3

Although Mai Kai is only 25 years old, she has the wise, old soul of someone who has lived for a very long time. She shares her story of being raised in the Hmong tradition which includes being groomed to people please. Her culture and tradition are one of male dominance, parental dominance, silence, and submission. As she grew up she learned to silence her intuition, to not trust her own thoughts, and to fear any form of external validation. It wasn't until she had the opportunity to travel abroad that she learned to take the 'mask off' and leave it off. Although her new way of being has caused friction with her family relationships she has learned to say 'NO' and to set responsible and healthy boundaries. When I asked one word that described herself - she used the word BRAVE and I would highly agree. I hope you enjoy her story and I hope it inspires you to face your fears to create the life you desire.

Episode 27 - Your Voice Matters - A story about overcome FEAR. #2

Suicide and mental health are a big part of the conversation in todays world. Lorri has a first hand account of planning and scheduling her own suicide because life was more than she could manage at the young age of 17. The pressure of perceived perfectionism and people pleasing, combined with a heavy dose of, 'being afraid to ask for help', created a toxic mental environment for the young athlete. Thankfully her plan was discovered and she is here today to share her story and to encourage people to ask for help and support. She has created a program around her experiences called 'AMAZE YOURSELF' which can be found on her website www.iamazeme.com or you can join her FB group called the Amaze Yourself Community. I hope you enjoy the story and draw inspiration to face your own fear and shine.

Imposter Syndrome or Fraud Syndrome is a very real, percieved, modern day cognitive distortion. How's that for a mouthful. We create the belief through our experiences and influencers in life. This episode explores the characteristics of I.S., the different types of I.S., the reason why it is created, and some techniques we can use to manage it. Episode 26 - Your Voice Matters - A story about embracing FEAR. #1

I wanted to start this mini-series with this amazing and funny share about how FEAR LIES. Lisa Alexander has been in the film industry for years but recently faced many fears as she embarked on writing her own made-for-film movie called 'My Father the Queen'. She captures the essence of this mini-series when she shared, 'with my knees knocking together I went for it'. You will laugh while being inspired as you listen to her share how her 'Daddy' issues held her back until she came to the clear realization that 'Fear Lies' and that she is truly worthy of success. I hope you enjoy her story and I hope it inspires you to face your fears to create the life you desire.

Episode 25 - Struggling with a big decision?

Episode 25 - Struggling with a big decision?

We all experience moments in life when we are presented with major life decisions that I like to refer to as 'fork in the road' moments, pivot opportunities, and side hustle chances. When these opportunities present themselves we often allow our fears, and ourselves, to get in the way and then we watch from the side lines as life passes us by. These 'fork in the road' moments are gifts from the Universe and they are a test and lesson to see what we will truly do with the offer.

Listen to this latest podcast episode if it feels like the 'what ifs' and the details are getting in the way of your major life decision and you don't feel as though you can see a clear path to the right decision. Enjoy!

Episode 24 - FAILURE may be your greatest FEAR and FEAR could be your greatest FAILURE.

Episode 24 - FAILURE may be your greatest FEAR and FEAR could be your greatest FAILURE.

Fear is created in our mind - sometimes for insignificant reasons and sometimes for very obvious reasons. either way, fears eventually become our external reality and those fears, whether they are real or imagined, are what hold us stuck and keep us from experiencing the life we desire. Fear is more powerful than failure because it creates limitation in life.

And, just like our mind creates them, our mind can also minimize them, subdue them, and even overcome them. Life is meant to be about possibility NOT limitation - both of which are created by us. Thank you as always for listening. If you ready to distinguish your fears and create an amazing project in life - reach to me at lifecoach@miajerritt.com to book a free connection call.

Episode 23 - How did I get this way!?

This beautiful story/meditation comes from the book by Mary O'Malley called The Gift of our Compulsions.  Either sit back and listen, or take this beautiful story with you on a walk, as you are reminded how you started out perfect and learned to be 'not enough'.  I guarantee this will resonate with your inner child - and it will guide you on how to remember the perfection of who you are for your children and grandchildren.  I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I did the first time I read it.

Episode 19 - Boundaries and Priorities

Episode 19 - Boundaries and Priorities

A person's quality of life, their mindset, and their relationship with money are all a direct reflection of their priorities and personal boundaries. Without these 2 important structures, a person tends to live a life where the world happens to them rather than them dictating how THEY want to experience the world.  In a world full of busyness, there is no greater time to establish and declare what your priorities and your boundaries will be - AND THEN, never compromise them.  This is a powerful step in being the leader of the life that you desire rather than a life you are settling for.

Episode #18 - Life in the rearview mirror.

As one year slowly comes to a close and all the promise of a new year is just around the corner, it's the perfect time to reflect, acknowledge, celebrate, and refocus.  This episode walks you through a very powerful exercise around acknowledging and celebrating all that you accomplished in the past year; reflecting on anything you said you would do but may not have completed; and then using this information to get really clear on what is most important moving forward along with what you are willing to let go of.

Rather than setting a New Year's Resolution this year, why not set a powerful intention that has no ceiling and then allow your goals to live within this limitless container.  The possibilities are much grander when you create your vision from this place.  Enjoy and thank you as always for listening, sharing, subscribing and following.

Episode #17 - The New Year's Resolution Trap

This episode tackles the complicated relationship between goals and New Year's Resolutions or, the 'Monday' trap.  There is a reason that New Year's Resolutions have such a high failure rate and part of it is because we set ourselves up for failure by buying into the trap of starting on.....whatever day it is.  There is only now - what are you going to do today to get to where you want to go.  This episode talks about priorities, clarity, intentions vs. goals, limiting beliefs, commitment and so much more.  It is meant to inspire you to start whatever if it you want to start - TODAY and to create it from a place of intention rather than goals and willpower.  Enjoy, and as always, please remember to follow, subscribe and share so you never miss an episode.  Thank you!

YOUR VOICE MATTERS- A Conversation with Olivia Besanger about BUSY being a choice.

This informative and authentic conversation with Olivia Besanger reminds us that Busy isn't always a necessity - sometimes it's a choice.  And the choice to be busy can come at a heavy cost.   We explore the why behind busy; the doing vs. the being of busy; how our busy is being passed on to our children; how busy transcends socio-economic demographics; and so much more.  Olivia has been on her own journey of growth and exploration and has happily come to a place of calm contemplation in lieu of busy.   She is adventurous, determined, wise, and funny.  As always, please enjoy, follow and subscribe.  And, if you'd like to be a guest on my podcast series, reach out to chat.

Episode #13 - PEACE begins where EXPECTATIONS end.

Peace is an inside job.  One that requires awareness and letting go.  BUT, it's not a passive job.  Peace takes practice and awareness and choice - day in and day out and it's a lifelong process that has no destination.  If we think we have gotten 'there', then we stop growing and thriving and we revert back to surviving.  Peace has no expectations but expectations are striving to find peace.  In this episode we explore the connection between peace and expectations so we can let go of one and embrace the other.  Enjoy.

    Episode #9 - How Authentic are you...REALLY?

    Episode #9 - How Authentic are you...REALLY?

The word authentic has become the latest buzz word in the world of coaching, personal growth, spirituality and leadership - to name a few.  And, like any word that gets over-used and out of context, it becomes watered down and insipid. Unfortunately, the world of personal growth and coaching has become a bit like polyester...cheap and fake - and the word authentic has become the latest costume people wear.  Here I will touch base on the power and the possibility of true authenticity.

Episode #8 - Families can be FRUSTRATING!

Need I say more?!  Families can be our greatest source of love and our greatest source of pain.  They are also one of our richest sources of growth.  Because the emotions we feel for family are often magnified due to expectations and social norms, we find ourselves compromising, bending and acting in ways we wouldn't otherwise allow.  Why is this?  This episode explores the why, as well as the how-to, so we can go on to accept, forgive and grow.

Episode #7 - Why is my yellow brick road an uphill journey!?

Episode #7 - Why is my yellow brick road an uphill journey!?

Most of us live in two highly charged and competing realities.  The reality we are CURRENTLY living and the DESIRED reality we wish to be living.  There are many aspects to this human experience worth exploring starting with the fears (or walls) we create which obstruct our yellow brick road and keep us from experiencing our Oz.  These walls are created by us, in our minds, through our experiences in life.  And, they create our current reality and our current story.  What if there was a way around these walls and we hold the key?  This episode explores how and why we create our own obstacles and the steps we can take to remove the obstacles.  We control our destiny.  We control our beliefs.  We create our fears.  Let's break this concept apart so we can open up a window in our walls and see what's on the other side.

    Episode #5 - From SHEER-WILL to FREE-WILL

    Episode #5 - From SHEER-WILL to FREE-WILL

Why are goals and New Years Resolutions so difficult to stick to and why do we keep declaring the same goals with the same results?  This episode talks about the difference between goals and mindset along with the difference between willpower and intention.  When we create a goal from a foundation of intention, the whole concept shifts from pushing and striving to flowing.  I share a lot of insight around how to create the same goal from a solid foundation so the outcome is permanent.  Enjoy.
