EP 11: Love, The Church, and Eternal Life
In this episode, Bro Derrick & Bro. Michael wrestle with the theme of "love" and how it directly relates to our function as fellow believers in the local church, what that should bring about, how that should cause us to contemplate, fundamentally, IF we even have eternal life! John penned 1 John with the key purpose of helping his readers to discern if they are truly saved, giving a vivid picture of how genuine saving faith should be demonstrated- all revolving around a particular kind of love.
EP 10: The Forbidden Subject of... Abortion
This was a difficult episode for both of us, as the subject, by nature, brings an emotional response. But as usual, we attempt to apply a biblical perspective to this divisive and often hotly-debated subject that so many get wrong. We pray this episode not only shines a burning light on the matter but also offers hope where many find it hard to find.

EP 9: Mission Drift
In ministry, like any other mission-based endeavor, we run the risk of drifting or evolving off of our core mission and model. Pastors Derrick and Michael have a frank and somewhat "off-the-cuff" discussion of this topic and offer a few ideas on how to avoid this drift.
EP 8: Frankly Speaking
In this episode, Bros. Derrick and Michael discuss two books they recently read and exchanged, both of which deal with ministry and leadership and the suffering that comes with it. But the encounters are not strictly limited to pastors but also to laypeople as we all face trials, accusations, and "suffering" in this walk.

Lonely Pastor's Podcast Ep 7: Biblical Counseling w/Special Guest
Finally! Episode 7 with special guest Bro. Russell Threet, pastor of West Park Baptist Church in Ozark Arkansas. Bro. Russell holds several advanced degrees including Biblical Counseling, and holds several certificates and other credentials, making him a valuable and trustworthy source of information. Join us as we discuss biblical counseling in the context of the local church. See how biblical counseling can be a part of the intentional discipleship process - and indeed, how counseling should be an integral part of the ministry of the local church, a ministry that isn't just for pastors and those with special academic credentials!
EP6: Evaluating Ministry?
Join Derrick and Michael as we discuss the concept of "Evaluating Ministry", with a particular focus on defining "success". We pray this episode is a blessing, especially to pastors and ministry leaders who struggle to "achieve arbitrary numbers" or feel pressured to get "nickles and noses" in the building. #GreatCommission, #Discipleship, #RealMinistryMatters #BiblicalFruit.
Ep 5: Where Do You Get Your Theology?, Part B
As Pastors Derrick & Michael continue to explore where many get their theology, they turn to other media forms, including movies and television programs. Hope you will join in and listen!
Ep 4: Where Do You Get Your Theology? Part A
Everyone is a Theologian, from children to adults, prideful Atheists, to the deepest religious adherents. The real question: Where do you get your theology? Music, movies, television, culture? Part A deals with music, from classic hymns to popular Contemporary Christian songs and current CCLI favorites. What role should music, especially that we use in worship, play?
EP 3: Biblical Reconciliation
One of the most challenging (sadly) parts of Christianity and Church life is reconciliation. Pride, feelings, and genuine pain often get in the way of what we, as the church, are supposed to demonstrate.
Join Bros. Derrick and Michael as we explore this critical area of the Christian faith.
Ep. 2: Pragmatism
Pastors Derrick & Michael discuss pragmatism as it applies to the church, with particular attention to the primarily negative impact pragmatism has had on Christianity and the adulteration of the gospel.
