This episode is in celebration and remembrance of the Passover Festival being celebrated all throughout the world starting today. The Exodus was the moment in the biblical narrative where God reveals Himself as the Rescuer. From liberation from oppression and slavery, offering wisdom and insight into how to form healthy communities and bringing His people forward into their promises of a future time when all of Creation will be restored, all the elements of God saving the world are found within this moment of history. The Samaritans and Israelites had a longstanding history of opposition and conflict that led them to live with prejudices towards one another. It was not socially acceptable for the Jewish people to associate themselves with the Samaritans. So when Jesus meets with an adulterous Samaritan woman who was ceremonially impure, he was breaking through every national, social and religious boundary and tradition you could imagine. Yet Jesus did not come to the world to please Israel, He came to the world to fulfill Israels purpose. In Genesis 12 the covenant promise with Abraham revealed that Israel would be a blessing to the people of the world. Jesus words to the Samaritan woman at the well cut to the core of not only her personal life, but also Gods purpose for her future. Ultimately He reveals to her and to all those who would learn of this moment, that the heartbeat of the God of Israel is to be with His people, to dwell amongst His creation. This means that even in your own brokenness and messy past, Jesus wants to meet with you just like the Samaritan woman, and He extends his arms out in love offering living water that will never leave you thirsty again. Proverbs 8 gives us a sneak peak into the act of creation, and how Wisdom played a crucial part in every stage that was laid out in Genesis 1-2. God's presence is a place where we were designed to breath, live and move from and not strive to find. We are created to thrive with the power and Spirit of God flowing through us, not constantly be searching and yearning to sense, often times feeling like He is nowhere to be found. Rest is an important factor to our ability to sense the presence of God as well as our ability to live and move by the leadership of God's Spirit. Yet, rest might not be exactly what you think it means in terms of resting spiritually. Christians fundamentally believe in the Cross, but why do so many live as if they don't? A lot of people claim to know God, but why do they seem to struggle sensing His presence in their life? The answer to this question may not be what you think it is. In Episode 1 of the Purpose Series, Michael brings fresh new perspective of how God desires His children to think in new ways. It is the way His people think that determines the way they live. The final episode of the Easter Series brings an encouraging and convicting description of what Jesus intended for all of His followers to learn from His resurrection, and how this was supposed to effect their daily lives as His disciples. 

In this episode, Michael gives his message "Agents of Change" to the youth group at his home church in Tampa, Florida. In this message Michael shows us how God's Word specifically teaches that it is the Body of Christ who is meant to be the ones who bring the change that this world so desperately needs. Through Old Testament prophecies, covenants and their fulfillment through the resurrection of Jesus, we are not only able to, but we are called to bring God's love, holiness and justice into this world using the authority God has equipped His church with. 

In Episode 3 of our Easter Series, we talk about how the Exodus of God's people in Egypt ties directly into the overall theme of Exile in the Bible and the Resurrection. Easter Sunday represented the build up of God's movement throughout the history of Israel in the Bible. God rescuing His people from slavery in Egypt actually means a lot more to our lives than we may understand. When you learn what the Resurrection really launched, your perspective of Jesus and your life as a Son or Daughter of God will become clear! 

In Episode 2 of our Easter Series, we dive into the Old Testament and discover that God had made a promise (covenant) with a man that would promise to make him into a great nation (Israel) and this nation would become a blessing to the rest of the world.

What does this covenant have to do with Easter Sunday?

Why does the Old Testament constantly remind us of this promise?

How does this Covenant reveal to us that God is faithful towards His creation?
