Faults I had which people still think are holy things (part 2)

Faults I had which people still think are holy things (part 2)

I had a spiritual experience which I pushed to become an overcorrection of the first fault which I discussed in part 1. I'll be going in-depth into this fault I had which many Christians also believe is a sign of holiness but is actually wrong.

Some faults I had that people think are holy - part 1

In this 12th episode, I'll be reflecting on some faults I had that people think are holy. I remember going through an article on sophisticated temptation during my young zealous phase of purification of the senses and finding out that some "holy thoughts and beliefs" were wrong and could be used to make us worse off than better. I wished seriously for people to know these as such faults were already quite common in the circles of pious individuals. I'll be looking at one of them and the manifestations in this episode.

Why do bad things happen if God is omnipotent and good?

Why do bad things happen if God is omnipotent and good?

With just three episodes to go till the end of the first season of my podcast, we'll be looking at "Why do bad things happen if God is omnipotent and good?" Some scriptures suggest it is God's doing while others say it is proof that there is no God. Let's look at this together, shall we?

Does God love us more than those who died this morning?

Does God love us more than those who died this morning?

A lot of us say something like this when we pray "it is because of God's love that we are alive today, many people died this morning". I've always found this weird because it goes against something at the center of our Christian faith.

Luke 13:1-5

1 At that time some people who were present there told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate* had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices. 2 He said to them in reply, “Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were greater sinners than all other Galileans?a 3 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent,b you will all perish as they did! 4 Or those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them*—do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem? 5 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!”

Wisdom 3:1-9
The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. For if to others, indeed, they seem punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. In the time of their judgment they shall shine and dart about as sparks through stubble; they shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the LORD shall be their King forever. Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with the elect.

Talking to Jesus in Holy communion

We often receive Holy communion and we understand it is the body and blood of our Lord Jesus but is it really Jesus? What is the point? Why is God hiding as a piece of bread?

Turn the other cheek? So we should sit by and watch wicked people?

Turn the other cheek? So we should sit by and watch wicked people?

Turn the other cheek? So we should sit by and watch wicked people? Honestly, a lot of people including myself didn't know what to make of what our Lord was saying, in fact, a lot of us go on to believe it's just nothing important at all. I'll be looking at what our Lord meant and it most likely is not what you think.

How to make progress in breaking a habitual sin's cycle in your life

I found out that all of us normal people usually have a type of spiritual, physiological and or psychological weakness that manifests as a fault that keeps repeating itself. I for one had suffered heavily at the hands of such and I went desperately in search of solutions for this. I found something basic but when taken seriously really helped me a whole lot in battling my habitual sins.
