Re-evaluating my podcast, blog, newsletter and myself
I haven't made an episode in a while, and for that, I am very sorry. Things are changing, and I'm hoping it's for the better, so what I've been doing hasn't been sustainable. I was trying to create a daily blog post and podcast while working full-time. I've attempted to bulk-create and schedule, but that only gets me so far until I have more time to do it again. I hope you can understand, and I hope you continue to follow, listen and support me. I appreciate all of you.

Sadly, Joey Jordison has passed away at 46
Much like the passing of Chester Bennington, this has hit me hard. Slipknot has been a huge part of my metal discography, and Joey was an inspiration for me. His drumming abilities were incredible, and I always remember his drum solos played live on a twisting platform.

Rank Math is my new favourite SEO WordPress plugin
Rank Math is a fantastic SEO plugin, and it’s relatively new in this space. I’ve been using Yoast SEO for years, and I really enjoyed their traffic light system. However, I spotted Rank Math in the list of WordPress plugins and decided to give it a try. In the past, I tried the All In One plugin, but I was not too fond of the lack of helpful steps that Yoast came with.

Not sure what to write today? Try using writing prompts.
For yesterday’s blog post, I had no idea what to write. I was sat there the day before thinking, “what can I write about today?”. I asked my wife for ideas, and she also had no idea. This was when I decided to go to Reddit, Twitter and a few other places to gain ideas. However, even though these usually work for me, I still had no idea what my next topic was. I then decided to search “writing prompts” to see what would happen.
Take a look at writing prompts here, and the blog post for this episode.

How to be in the top 1 percent of podcasters and feel inspired
— Jack Butcher (@jackbutcher) June 18, 2021"90% of podcasts don’t get past episode 3. That’s 1.8 million who quit.
Of the 200,000 left, 90% will quit after 20 episodes. That’s another 180,000 gone.
To be in the top 1% of podcasts in the world you only need to publish 21 episodes."https://t.co/IDH9XOmYnu

My blog has reached over 100,000 views and I'm excited
Yesterday, I found out my blog has reached over 100,000 views,
I’m over the moon. This milestone has taken 11 years, but that’s 11 years of on/off posting. To some, this may seem like a small achievement. However, to me, it's a huge milestone and one I will cherish forever.

Brehm CrossFit workout and how this podcast will be changing

Incorrect dentist appointment. Seeing a cat. Loki. New movies and what I'm reading.
I thought my dentist appointment was today but I was wrong, it's next month on the 8th. I did, however, find a very friendly cat. Loki is out now, and the first episode was very enjoyable. I highly recommend people check it out on Disney+. New movies are coming out, too, which is great to see.
iOS and iPadOS has new updates coming...
Apple revealed a host of new OS updates in their WWDC conference. I'm using the latest iPadOS 15 and testing many features, including their new dictation feature. Check out the entire event in 11 minutes on YouTube.
Recording early to reduce background noise and going to the dentist
I recorded this podcast episode a little earlier than usual to avoid noise from my next-door neighbour. I've also got a dentist appointment at 11:30 because I broke a tooth on a hard seed. (Check out Huel, by the way!).
Also, I have my COVID appointment booked for this Saturday (I can't remember if I said it previously).
The series I watched on Netflix is called Abstract: The art of design.
Please feel free to leave a voice message, and I will add it to the next podcast episode.
Why I didn't post on the weekend and gaining my first supporter on Ko-Fi.
I missed Friday, Saturday and Sunday to post anything due to my next-door neighbour renovating vans. Today, I received my first Ko-Fi supporter, and he received a huge thank you.

Heading to Somerset and why bands need UV sensors
Today, we're heading to Somerset and spending some quality time with more family members. Also, Sunburn is a pain, and I wish either the MS band 2 still existed, or another device had UV sensors and notifications.
We went to Paignton zoo with my family
Today I visited Paignton zoo with my wife, brother, his partner and my nephews. There was fun to be had, and it was lovely. Have a great Sunday.
I also want to apologise for the quality of this episode. It was recorded on my iPhone and sounded like it was recorded with a potato. I won't be doing another recording like this again.

I have a tattoo on my wedding ring finger
It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be, considering everyone says it's the most painful place to get one. My wife would say, "no sense, no feeling" which is probably very true.
Here's a tweet with the picture of my tattoo. - https://twitter.com/MBrooksUK/status/1397579293979521030
Getting a tattoo on my wedding ring finger
Before COVID, I had a ring that was bigger in size. When lockdown happened, my finger shrunk in size because I was no longer working out at all, and before I noticed how much it shrunk, I lost my ring.
I didn't notice it was gone until I got home, and it was a good amount of miles away from the original place I lost it, so I didn't go back to look. Instead, I ordered another ring that was smaller to fit the current size of my finger. After going back to Crossfit, my finger grew in size once again, and now I struggle to get my ring on and off. It's to a point where I have to use washing up liquid to get it off.
Today, I will be going into a tattoo parlour and have a "T" tattooed on my wedding ring finger to symbolise the fact I'm married. This way, I don't have to worry about different sizes, getting my ring resized or taking a ring off and on again when I'm working out.
Restarting my podcast
After taking a massive break, I have decided to restart my podcast. It will no longer be focusing on just fitness and mental health. It will be covering a whole range of general topics.
If you'd like to create your own podcast series then you can get started for free on Anchor.fm.
You can also check out my Anchor profile and leave your very own message.
Finding the ultimate fitness tracking device
I've always been interested in finding the ultimate tracking device and have used a few in the past, which I thought were excellent. However, I believe our search for the ultimate device may have come to an end.
