Mother by definition is a woman in relation to her child or children. If you were to ask any woman who is a mother, the definition would be so much more. It is someone who has sacrificed a bit of them for the betterment of others.

Mothers are the ones who make the meals, wash the clothes, wipe the bottoms, dry the tears, help the boo-boos go away, and pray by your bedside at night.

Now, I know many dads do this too, but there is something about a mother. She is the one whose laughter can fill a room, whose stare can stop a train, and whose words can fill the gap. It is a mom who walks the floors from birth until eternity full of worry, fear, love, and prayers. Prayers for our futures, our pasts, and our days. It is moms who walk beside us, defend us, and yet reprimand us for our good. It is a mom who loves us to the core no matter who we are.

I know it is a bit late. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas, but I am still in the mode of Fall. The leaves are still turning, and the weather is still changing. You just might say I am grasping on to the last little moments of Fall. Join me as I talk about my love of Fall, and trying to squeeze out every moment of this season.

There are so many influences today it is hard to know where you need to stand. And it is even harder to know whose approval we need. When we don't agree with someone on an issue whether small or big having the tools to come to a resolution can help us stand firm on our beliefs and show the level strength and love Christ gives us each day.

Wow! It has been awhile, in fact, it has been a long hot minute. But I have returned to say HI! I have to be honest it is a bit awkward, but that is part of what I am working out today at my kitchen table. I am talking about greeting people, and interacting with others to create a positive environment for everyone involved. And that is hard to do. It is hard to accept others for who they are and where they are at, whether it has been 9 months or 9 minutes. How we treat others is a reflection of ourselves and how much respect we are willing to give.

So join me today as I return with an awkward hello, and talk about greeting others with a bit of kindness.

Have you had a time when a neighbor does something great with their yard, or someone gets a promotion at work, or a friend gets a new car? Times like this are sometimes hard for me. I call them the I wants. Right now it is really bad. My neighbor, who is a really sweet person, is building a rather large play house for his son. It is big enough to be a she shed, or a spare office. Oh my the I wants, the jealousy, the coveting what they have is really bad! 

Today I talked to you about the I wants and my struggles with them. I relish over my neighbors beautiful yard. But in the end I share with you where I have found my comfort and my strength to get me through the days of I want.

I was a lucky lady this year on Valentines Day, since Micheal took me to see Death on the Nile. I am a huge Agatha Christie fan so when I saw they made another movie of the book Death on the Nile.

Books being made into movies is another thing that excites me. For me books being made into movies is bringing books alive. It feels like the words on the page are jumping off the screen for me.

Christmas is almost here.  The lights are up, the trees are decorated, and there is a sense of magic in the air.  But is it just that? A feeling?  Or is there something more to this season than we can see?  For me there is a sense of hope.  Hope is defined as a feeling of something good, a confidence of something better to come. I am tired after a busy holiday.  Who isn't?!!  And unfortunately I have been grumpy all day.  

In today's episode I am talking about my grumpy attitude today and how I face it.  I have learned over the years on days like today I truly lean into God's Word to find his peace and his stillness to help me battle with my own anger, and frustration.  It gives me the tools to have a better attitude so I am tired and yet I am at peace.
